Nice views, but lacking in some areas
The location in general is quite nice, with decent views from upstairs. However, we weren't quite prepared for it to be be stuck in between a bunch of other buildings. Although we didn't see anyone epse around, it lacked privacy and didn't feel like the most restful space unfortunately Also one thing to prepare for is that the shower pressure is almost non existant (fine for some of us, not so great for anyone trying to wash long hair!)

Blissful retreat
My sister and I were in a girls weekend. We stayed at this gorgeous quiet and unique property with breathtaking views and a home that provides a unique experience. Highly recommend this as part of your travels❤️🌟

Lovely stay at Mudenza! Great communication on how to get to the barn and fantastic views at night and at sunrise. Our group wished we stayed an extra night!! Would recommend to anyone looking for a stay in the area!

The property was spotlessly clean with everything supplied,(bed linen and towels) microwave, toaster, kettle, 2 tv's etc. The beds were the most comfortable you could wish for. The views of the harbour were fantastic. The hosts were wonderful, bringing us bread, butter, milk and eggs which we were not expecting. Just a little off the beaten track but don't let that put you off. Highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing views. Nice quirky place. Warmed up well with a small wood burner oven. Off the beaten track a fair way, but still an easy drive to Rawene and Opononi. Less confident drivers may find the driveway steep and slippery in the wet.

A beautiful quiet place to relax and enjoy the great view, everything we needed was provided. To get there we recommend taking the turnoff onto Coutu Loop Rd that to Opononi.

Absolutely loved this property. The house was so cute with the artistry of the mud brick and inserts and the views were magnificent. The walk down to the beach is worth it. Great to have it as a serviced property rather than a straight Bach so we didn't need to worry about sheets, towels, etc. Highly recommend it.

Quirky touches to the interior made it an interesting place to stay. eg baby corrugated iron lined shower with an aggregate floor studded with colourful ceramic pebbles and a leprechaun toilet roll holder along with bottles stuck in the front wall and ceramic cups, mugs and soup bowls imbedded in the wall above the kitchen sink. Stunning views from the dining room and mezzanine floor bedroom. No provisions for wheelchair access but suited our needs (a place to sleep for the night close to our party venue in Rawene). Check in was easy (check out was easy too). Chickens came to greet us in the morning and we saw the hosts as we were leaving and thanked them from the car as we left the driveway. Value for money in my opinion and no interference from the hosts.

Paradise in the Hokianga
Absolutely loved our stay, it was peaceful and relaxing. Perfect place to unwind and spend quality time with friends or family. Loved the private beach with the kayaks. Cooked breakfast and dinners on the barbecue and enjoyed the beautiful stunning views while playing chess outside. Would stay here again for sure.

We loved our cosy retreat. Moni and Wayne were great hosts, not forgetting Ayla and Baz the bulldogs. I loved the early morning kayak mission on the harbour, sheer bliss :)

Thank you both for such an amazing time. The guests visiting us from Canada said it has been one of their highlights so far. We will definitely be back...next time with our newborn. This location has it all including amazing hosts, breathtaking scenery, water access and a unique bach. Great work!

Amazing family friendly property with stunning sunset and harbor views and night sky views. Highly recommend. Great neighbours, as they live on the separate property down below and asked us if we needed anything. If you get a chance to get there, do spare sometime for Hokianga itself as it's amazing place to spend time by.

Unusal and interseting place
We appreciated the fire was lit - making the place warm, on arrival. It would be good if the wifi logon was in the guest book. We were interested in the construction. I especially liked the tiles.
