Le personnel de l'hôtel est très gentil et serviable. Les chambres sont simples mais correctes. On sent néanmoins que le contexte sanitaire et politique du pays qui a quasi stoppé le tourisme depuis 3 ans a un impact car l'hôtel est vieillissant et l'entretien semble sommaire.

Overall, the Hotel is very nice. The rooms need some upkeep/maintenance, especially the showers. Power outlet instructions in the rooms need to be updated - I was totally confused about where I could or could not charge my cellphone. The staff were very pleasant and helpful! :-)

Great staff!
My friend and I stayed here recently and cannot rate it highly enough. My friend got very sick while we were in Bagan (taken to hospital etc) and the staff were so amazing and accommodating. They organized a doctor to come to the hotel, bought special food to the room for my friend and were always checking how she was. They even sorted out our ebike for us (my friend was taken by ambulance from a pagoda at sunrise and we had to leave the bike behind). Beyond the amazing staff, the pool area is so nice and relaxing, the food is good, and it's very clean. Would definitely recommend!

Best hotel I stayed in in Southeast Asia
I can't gush enough about this hotel. The staff were excellent, they helped me with work stuff, scanning etc. I never opened my own door. There were issues with some of my scans, so they let me keep the room late. They arranged sunrise transport when I arrived on the overnight bus. The pool was excellent. No matter what I asked for, they brought it...at one point I thought I should ask for a pony, just to see what would happen. I loved this hotel. I usually stay in cheaper hotels, but someone recommended this in Lake Inle. This is a 5 star hotel, masquerading as a moderately price inn. Go there!

Comfortable, clean, and a great value.
The Arthawka is a pleasant property, in a great location. It's pronounced "aw-tock-uh" locally, so if you are heading in from the pier, bus station, or airport remember that as it will be easier to explain to the driver picking you up. We wanted to be in New Bagan, and a little out of the "scene," so this was perfect. All of the staff are friendly, and try to go out of their way to be as helpful as possible. A few of the staff speak English well enough that we never had any language barrier issues at all. The room was comfortable, and clean. Daily housekeeping services were detailed and and didn't leave any room for complaint. It was nice to have fresh fruit left in the room occasionally, and new water bottles every day as well. WiFi worked in the room, the lobby, and by the pool. Note: it's not exactly the broadband you're probably used to, but for casual browsing/posting etc. it works fine. A couple of times I lost a connection and called down to the front desk where they were happy to reset the router and it was restored in a few minutes. The pool was a pleasant temperature, and there were plenty of lounge chairs surrounding it. Fresh pool towels were stacked by the entrance to the pool. I did feel there was too much chlorine in the pool, but it didn't stop me from using it for midday siestas at the peak heat of the day. Overall, this is a well run and comfortable property, and a great value for your stay in Bagan.

Bagan Hotel
I stayed at the Arthawka in mid January 2018. Surprisingly, like a lot of other hotels, the occupancy was quite low. It appeared that the hotel has been set up to cater for bus groups. The staff were all very helpful, keen to assist. At short notice they were able to arrange a guide, electric scooter, river sunset viewing. The hotel is located in New Bagan close to many other hotels and restaurants.

Lovely staff, great location and experience
We stayed 4 nights, the last on New Year's Eve. We had only planned two nights and the hotel was booked for NYE, but the manager went out of his way to find us accommodation. Free drinks on NYE and lovely staff. Buffet breakfast each morning was nice enough. Pool was lovely. Would recommend.

Very nice hotel and accommodating staff
The hotel is known to local drivers and therefore less worry when it is your first time to get there. Upon arrival, we’re greeted with kind staffs whom are willing to help you with your activities in Bagan. The hotel is also helpful in renting our e-bike and taxi going around the place. In addition, the food in its restaurant is good with comparable price when you eat outside. Lastly, though staffs has difficulty in speaking english, they are very willing to help you in times of need. Likewise, they have a manager who speaks english fluently, so everything is manageable.

Very nice stay
You really need a swimming pool in very hot Bagan after a hot day of sightseeing. The Arthawka Hotel has a very clean and comfortable pool area. The rooms are very spacious and come with everything that you need including very high speed Internet. Breakfast was a nice selection of foods that were well prepared. Beds were a little firm but overall, we were very comfortable there.

Great stay, great location
Great location and service. A short walk to the area of New Bagan with grocery, food and supplies. You can rent e-bikes from the desk (5,000Ky/day) and is right out front. Book your intercity bus there also and the bus will pick you up from the hotel. The restaurant is a little expensive for the area but good food and very convenient after a long day trekking. The breakfast (included) is good with tea, coffee, eggs, noodles, cereal, potatoes, fruit, pastries, etc. The pool is salt water and clean. The rooms are a great value. The staff speaks fairly good english and is extremely helpful. I spent 3 nights here and the last day I had a bus at 9PM. They let me store my bags, use the pool and lobby from the late checkout (Noon) until the bus picked me up at 8:15.

Great pool but far from restaurants.
This place is a far walk to some local restaurants. The pool was a great redeeming feature because it was so hot during my stay. The wifi in the room was non-existent. Had to use the lobby for wifi needs. The AC in the room was underpowered. The door didn't lock correctly as the handle was broken to the room. The food with all good intentions was bland. The hotel was mainly empty as my visit was in the hot low season (May). The staff was friendly and helped book transportation to Naypyidaw.

Arrived early, got early check in. Staffs were nice and friendly and recognised you. Pool was nice,especially after evoke trips to the temples. E bikes could be rented from the stall just outside the hotel at very reasonable price.

Disappointed with our stay. Hotel staff was polite but rooms were outdated and in poor condition. Plaster coming off the walls, unpleasant odours from the bathroom, no hot water at sink, bed uncomfortable, noise from other rooms, no WiFi in the room and far from the city centre.

The hotel was clean and had one of the better included breakfasts. Our main disappointment was we chose this hotel because Bagan is hot and dusty and we were looking forward to jumping in the pool during the hottest part of the day. Unfortunately the water was way to cold to go in

Lovely hotel. Location a little away from main restaurants but a few 5 mins away else can cab it. Hotel itself was great. Only minor issue that wifi signal only works in lobby. Poor to no signal in rooms

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The pool was great after a long hot day at the temples. We hired e bikes from the hotel for a good price. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. Though not a great selection. We would recommend

Fantastic base to explore the temples of Bagan
Fantastic value for money, in particular the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Pool was very welcome after a hot day exploring temples. Plenty of restaurants a little walk from the hotel. WiFi only in public areas and not so many Western choices at breakfast (although nice omelettes!).

We arrived on the night bus, so we actually came to the hotel about 5:15 am. The staff were lovely and checked us in straight away, plus upgraded our room. Breakfast is fine and electric motorbikes are available. It's such a hot place and the room is quiet and cool. The pool is a great place to escape the heat. Reception booked us a tour and guide at a good rate.

Got an upgrade to a superior room because we wanted a double bed. Hotel staff were really very friendly; we needed to book bus tickets to Mandalay and they just told us to leave it to them, and they contacted all the bus companies and got us the tickets we needed. Besides that, on our checkout day, the bus's pickup time was 4am, and the staff even asked if we needed a breakfast box for the bus ride because we would miss their buffet breakfast. Thumbs up for service excellence. Also, we wanted to rent the E-bike to catch sunrise which was at 5am. We called reception at midnight and they arranged everything, next morning, we got our bikes and off we went. Double thumbs up.

Rooms overlook the pool area and the pool was a salt water pool , nice to use especially when it's so hot in March. The breakfast was buffet style and a lot to offer . The staff was very helpful in making flight reservations for us also . There's an ATM. Right outside the door ! The wi fi is spotty but seems that way in all of Myanmar . We did pay extra for a deluxe room with a soaking tub but feel as though we were given the same room as our friend who paid less !

Wonderful, helpful staff and great buffet breakfast. Staff helped with renting bicycles and ebikes nearby that were cheaper than in the center of New Bagan. It was also very quiet at night. There are some good, inexpensive restaurants nearby (best to carry a flashlight at night as there aren't many streetlights). Only downside is that it's on the far edge of the town, so it takes a little longer to get to from the main tourist sites.

Exceptional service.
The service at Arthawaka is exceptional. The manager seemed always to be around and on our return from day trips always asked how it was. They arranged everything we needed and beyond. When we went for ballooning our youngest son was too small so the manager arranged the hotel driver to take him along and watched with him and then took him to pick him up. On the day we left, they even brought breakfast forward half an hour. The hotel itself is functional with a nice pool area everyone sits round. It is not boutique or beautiful but its prices are not expensive boutique either. Right for us.
