Fantastic location, we were able to walk to all the sites in old town including the castle. It is also a quick walk to the train station. Tons of old world charm!

Very small room. Noise from the street all night. If you want to sleep at night don't stay there. Also parking is limited and expensive.

Great location! Loved being able to walk for a morning latte in the historic central town. Hotel rooms in front were a bit loud perhaps but it was a Saturday night and there were tons of people out until about 11:00 pm, then it was quiet. Did not bother us at all. Hotel feels historic; breakfast was great! Staff professional and helpful. Loved best sitting out front on comfy chairs, watching people go by and having a beer / glass of wine. Would definitely stay again!

Absolutely beautiful old building in the walking district of Nuremberg! The rooms are well appointed and comfortable, and the owner is helpful and accomodating. Loved it and will return!

The hotel was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was a perfect location for us - close to the station and Nuremberg centre. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Wonderful Nuremberg Hotel
The hotel staff was friendly and so helpful. The room was delightful, clean and quiet. The breakfast was also great!!! We came in on the train and walked to the hotel which was very close to the train station. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby and a very walkable city.

The hotel is in a beautiful, old historic building, located close to the train station and within easy walking distance of all the sites of the old town. The tram to the other major sites stops outside the train station. The room we had was nicely decorated and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was very good.

Staff was friendly but overly worried about me telling them they needed to take laundry facilities off their description as they only have a laundry service. Breakfast was acceptable but not anything to count on - might be better to skip & pay for elsewhere. Convenient to get to & staff very helpful with directions to see sights.

Great hotel for old character, but no AC.
I picked this hotel b/c it was close to the train station and in old city Nuremberg. I thought it would be neat to stay in an older hotel in that area. Bad idea to get a hotel with no AC during a European heatwave. Otherwise, the room was very nice and the staff was friendly and helpful with information on the local area. The location was also very good. I was told we were staying in a part of the hotel that had not been renovated yet, (possibly because we wanted two separate beds) so I don't know if other floors that have been renovated have AC or not. If you're not visiting during a hot season, everything else about this hotel is perfectly fine.

A great stay at the Hotel Deutscher Kaiser
We really enjoyed our stay. The staff here was so friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and the breakfast was what we have come to expect at a good hotel in Germany. I highly recommend staying at the Hotel Deutscher Kaiser

Hotel overbooked when we arrived and bumped my wife and i from a suite to a tiny, very uncomfortable room... they apologized and said they'd compensate me for my trouble.... paid $360 USD per night for a suite and was given a $50 USD discount for my trouble... WOW! Not what id expect from a serious hotel. This hotel should be a museum rather than a hotel, very historic and great location but amenities are marginal and beds are extremely uncomfortable.....

A Sense of History at a Fine Old Grand Hotel
This hotel is ideal to walk city center. It is well maintained with friendly staff. Frau Steffen at reception was a delight and very helpful with my limited German; most staff also spoke English. The Frau running the Breakfast Area made special coffee and pastry exception for me -- always with a smile. The interior is early 1900’s. I sensed history on the grand old stairs viewing the paintings, tapestries and antique furniture. The room was adequate with Xlarge safe, small frig and updated “clean” bath. I was on an upper floor facing the city walking area with a nice view. If you wish open windows, you will hear city sounds – which I enjoyed -- except for a few around 3AM. For quiet, request a room in the rear area. I scored everything a 5 except comfort and condition. Condition 4 because it is an older building with all the aspects expected in a facility at least 100 years old and surviving a WWII bombing campaign -- yet maintained with the sense of German Efficiency. I scored comfort 4 because, compared to newer facilities, this historic facility has less modern comfort conveniences; a small quaint elevator, on street parking vs garage, slightly smaller rooms and although clean, the previous standard tiny European shower. Reserve a parking space in advance as limited spaces are in an adjoining alley. To summarize; I will stay at Hotel Deutscher Kaiser on my next visit. Thank you Frau Steffen and the staff. Ich habe meinen Besuch genossen.

High quality personalised service only found in multi generational family run hotels. Furniture is cabinetry, not Ikea. Prints are by Durer, not Disney. Located in the city walls. Excellent breakfast.

We booked two nights at this hotel while on a 10-day road trip around Bavaria and into Italy. The hotel dates to the early 19th century and adjacent to the historic central area pedestrian zone of the city, so only a short walk to restaurants, shops, museums as well as the historic St. Lorenz cathedral, which is a must-visit landmark. We loved our room, which was spacious for Europe, with a large window, attractive lighting, several antique pieces, and an updated bathroom. More antiques and historic touches in the corridors, the library, and breakfast room, where the included breakfast was excellent. Fabulous Italian restaurant just around the corner. Parking is in an uncovered lot adjacent to the hotel.

Hotel Deutscher Kaiser is very well located just inside the old town. The staff is incredibly helpful with directions and recommendations. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Breakfast is good with both German and US/UK selections. A very good choice for a room at a reasonable price in Nuremberg.

Hotel is situated 5 mins walk from the Lorenzkirch U Bahn station and c. 10 mins from the Hauptmarktplatz, where it all happens. Breakfast staff excellent: they knew how to make a proper cup of tea in a tea pot. Reception staff courteous and efficient without being overly familiar. Our room at back if the third floor was very quiet and not overheated. My only criticism is that the bathroom smelled a bit from the sink and bath overflows, which needed a good steam clean. We would happily stsy there again.

The hotel was very nice. It was very “historic” feeling, right in the middle of Nürnberg, Germany. Lots to do and lots to see. The price through Expedia was a little high. They used the “bait and hook” tactic. “One room left” means “there are plenty of rooms, we just want you to think it’s the last one and book at a higher price”. Once you book, there is a 90% cancelation fee. I don’t agree with that at all.

Great location in the heart of old town. Pleasant and helpful staff. Good buffet style breakfast. Overnight parking garage is available at approximately 200 meters from the hotel. Overnight parking costed about 14 Euro. Will stay in this hotel again!
