Great find!
Overall a lovely stay, fantastic spot right on the river front. Large family room was great and very spacious but could have been cleaner, lots of dust & cobwebs! Food was absolutely fantastic, we ate in the restaurant 3 evenings and every meal was excellent. We were well looked after and the staff were brilliant. Would recommend.

A cosy and welcoming riverside stay
Cosy riverside pub with very comfortable rooms, outstanding breakfast, and 10/10 service. I arrived late after a work event and even though the kitchen had closed, was still sorted with dinner. A beautiful setting to boot.

Really Lovely Stay At The Rising Sun
Andy the Manager of the Rising Sun met us with a warm welcome on arrival. We stayed 2 nights and had a wonderful stay with a river view room. All staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was fantastic with an excellent Full English breakfast or a light breakfast option if preferred. Would definitely stay again in the Summer and highly recommend staying at the Rising Sun in Coltishall.

Delightful stay
The room was attractive and comfortable. We had a river view from our room which was charming.The staff was unfailingly friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was fabulous, and the dinners we ate there were also excellent.

Really lovely stay right on the river. The room was large, clean and a good view of the river and a massive bonus is the excellent breakfast and the pub does 1st class food for dinner.

Great overnight stay

We stayed two nights in the family room, which was really nicely done up, amazing view onto the river and plenty of space for a family with two kids. We were a bit disappointed with dinner at the pub however, with the food being pretty average and service slow. Other than that I would definitely recommend staying here for a short break in the Norfolk countryside

The whole experience from checking in to checking was first rate. Staff always had a smile and a warm welcome for all who entered the pub, nothing was too much trouble. I was not able to have the breakfast due to start time on working so, they made up a breakfast bag for me each morning which was a nice touch. View from the room was great and nice to sit by the water. I will look forward to returning to the pub later in the year. Over all a much better service than from most hotel chain.

1st class stay.
From the friendly cheerful greeting on our arrival to the minute we left everything was perfect, a beautiful warm and comfortable room with a stunning view across fields and river, the food is amazing, 1st class breakfast, I would give 5 out of 5 and would recommend the rising sun to anyone.

Good hotel
The room decor was a little tired and the hall leading to it in need of a lick of paint, however the room was very comfortable and plenty big enough with everything needed for our stay including tea and coffee facilities. The breakfast was amazing and staff were lovely. Car park was a public one and because it had rained it had plenty of big puddles to navigate when getting in and out of the car but again on the plus side it was free and right outside the rooms. Overall a very pleasant stay.

A lovely quiet pub hotel right on the broads. However you really need a car to fully appreciate the area. I stayed 2 nights as I was attending a friends wedding so perfect for me.

My husband and I found the all the staff welcoming, friendly and accomodating. The meals were very nice as well. The room was very spacious and the bed was incredibly comfortable.I loved the room, it was 5 star.

Fantastic stay with my family the deluxe annexe family room was spacious clean ideal for families for short stays. The restaurant below was excellent food that was served excellent credit to the owners really lovely stay and made you feel Very welcome. Would definitely stay again.

We had a lovely stay all of the staff were very welcoming and the service was very good and had a nice atmosphere .The food was amazing although very large portions we would definitely stay again and would highly recommend.

5 star service and comfort at an affordable price
Absolutely perfect overnight stay from start to finish. The Room was the most comfortable, clean and modern room I have had the pleasure of staying in and the full english breakfast was second to none. It set us up for the day. We felt very welcome by the staff who also made sure we were well looked after.

Wonderful few days away
The Rising Sun is an absolute gem, perfectly situated on the bend of the River Bure. We stayed in the family room, in the annexe, and it was extremely spacious, clean and comfortable. Our massive bed faced the river so each morning we woke with the most wonderful views. The food at the Rising Sun is superb, very generous portions and served piping hot. It is also very reasonably priced, However, the wine is expensive, with the cheapest bottle at £22.00, and their delicious Viognier costing £30.00. This resulted in us having a medium glass and a pint to have with our evening meals, rather than a bottle. Due to its location and wonderful food, it is not surprising that the Rising Sun does get extremely busy. It shares the car park with another pub and the village green, and therefore it can be hard to find a space to park, especially in the afternoon and early evening. Nevertheless, we had a most enjoyable 3 days stay and will definitely be back next year.

Great place to stay in Coltishall
Room was spacious and well appointed with new furniture and bedding etc. Shower was in the roof eaves so awkward if you are very tall. Noise coming from a locked cupboard in the room (generator perhaps?) would disturb light sleepers so pack ear plugs. Lovely setting and great service - the biggest breakfast ever was beautifully cooked. Overall great value for the money.
