“Great Overall Experience!”

The hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Beautiful hotel, and conveniently close to the airport and metro station. Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be staying there when we go back!

“Hope to return soon!”

Great hotel all around. Very good staff--helpful, courteous from the shuttle driver from the airport to the desk staff. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and amenities, such as reading lights, tea/coffee in room and glass glasses, much appreciated. Would definitely stay here again.

“A Hidden Gem”

The Marriott Crystal Gateway is one of the beat deals you'll never hear about in Washington. I stayed there for a conference and was absolutely stunned with the quality of the experience. The hotel has excellent service and a very friendly staff. It is in a very convenient location. You're only a 5 minute walk to the metro station (which you don't even have to go outside to get to). There are also tons of shops and restaurants in the underground crystal city shops right there. The hotel is absolutely phenomenal. I will definitely stay there again if I make it back to DC!

Must see

Make sure to check out some of the great restaurants downstairs in the crystal city shops. They rarely have the wait of some of the downtown restaurants, but the food is excellent.

“Loved It!”

I have only been to DC one other time and it was with family very familiar to the area. When I made my reservations I was concerned about how easy it would be to get around without a car. Let me tell you about my experience - The Marriott Crystal Gateway is without a doubt the best decision I made regarding our stay. The hotel was clean, room was very comfortable and attractive, the service was great and everyone was more than willing to help out with any questions I had. The Metro transit system located directly at our hotel (did not even have to go outside to get there!) allowed my family to get to all sites very easily without use of a car or bus. I was slightly concerned prior to arrival about how to use the Metro, but with some instruction we became pros and used it everyday. I am jealous that we don't have one in the city where I live. It made our trip so easy. Shopping/Dining also easily available below the hotel, again without even going outside. This is great for eating out or just picking up items you need at the drugstore. This is like an entire city underneath the hotel! You will love it. Our trip consisted of myself, my husband and our 13 year old son. I have not one single complaint about anything and will recommend this hotel to friends and family. We will be returning again ourselves someday soon.

“It was okay”

Parking was expensive. You must request for your room to be cleaned and the linen changed. Although I did make the request it was not always done. The room smelled like their may have been some water damage. You could tell it was a discounted room/floor the doors on the outside needed to be cleaned off. The refrig never did get cold they also brought one to the room it never got cold and no microwave was available.

“Great Location!”

Overall we liked the hotel. When we first checked in we were given a room with just one bed when I had reserved for two beds as there are four of us, two adults and two teenage boys. That was aggravating but they did move us to another room. The room was okay except it was a handicap access bathroom and the water just ran all over the bathroom floor and then out to the edge of the rug. The room was nice and clean and we did get everything we asked for from the house keeping service... the best thing of all about this hotel is the location. The metro stop is right near it, with access from the undergound mall and the Crystal City Shoppes are also available from inside the hotel. The pool was nice and clean and overall I would stay here again. I plan to recommend this hotel to a friend that is planning a trip to the area.
