“Cramped Room”

The room was comfortable, but seemed cramped. Perhaps because it was filled with so much large furniture. The sink just inside the door seemed odd and allowed no privacy when two people accomodate the room.

“NICE ACCOMODATION”

CONVENIENT FEATURES IN ROOM: REFRIGERATOR; FREE BREAKFAST IS NICE; AVAILABLE PC'S TO USE BY LOBBY AREA IS CONVENIENT; OVERALL NICE AND COMFORTABLE HOTEL. SEVERAL RESTAURANTS AT WALKING DISTANCE.

“Great hotel”

The room was updated with modern conveniences. Restaurant next door, other eating places nearby. This Holiday Inn did not disappoint. Had to check out early so not able to comment on breakfast. Happy with Internet access. Will return to this hotel.

“not impressed needs many updates.”

Refrigerator did not work. Hallways smelled like smoke. Breakfast buffet was disappointing.

“Cheaper than the rest; you get what you pay for; it may be ok for you”

this hotel is too far from DC if that is where you are planning on going. On thursday night at 1030pm it took us 2.5 hours to get back to the room due to traffic. The front desk service was ok, nothing to rave about. The breakfast was gone before the time posted that it was to end. the carpet in our room was dirty. The beds were comfy. The cable had HBO. The shower/bathroom area was clean and we liked the bedding. Pillows nice too. Next to a Red Lobster. Make sure they don't put you by the maid's closet if you plan on sleeping past 7am. That door slammed a hundred times between 7am to 10am.

Area recommendations
stay closer to a metro so you won't have problems getting to DC like we did.
Must see
Museum: The Phillips Collection and the National Art Gallery. Loved the new MLK Monument

“Quick getaway!!!”

Very nice hotel with a good free breakfast. Rooms were very clean and staff was great. Rooms were a little tight for my family of 4, but comfortable. Would love to stay again next go around...

“Fairfax Holiday Inn Express - Functional and Comfortable”

The hotel was clean and comfortable with a nice breakfast service . decor looks a bit dated but clean and comfortable rooms , quiet ,despite being on a busy Fairfax Highway and next door to Red Lobster No leisure facilities so probably more suited to the business user.

Area recommendations
Fairfax City is Ok for a base if your are visiting Washington area, there is a metro station close by and fairfax old town is a nice area to walk around . The air and space museum is close by at Dulles airport and Manassas civil war battlefield is again close by.

“great deal and freeway close”

I reviewed Expedia comments about this hotel and like what I read. It lived up to my expectations and then some. Free breakfast saved me money and time and the two lobby computers and printer allowed me to check e-mails and get quick business done. The hotel is freeway close which is important and I ate at the Red Lobster next door twice which was good 20 yards away from the hotel which was convenient. the staff was very good and I had to use their assistance a few times with no problems or attitudes. they were great and I'm glad I read the previous Expedia comments beforehand. Clean, cheap, free breakfast, computers and printer and freeway close with safe parking and Red Lobster next door. It was a great deal for me.

Area recommendations
Fairfax, Tysons Corner. Both do not charge for parking rental cars and are freeway close.

“Delivers where it counts”

This is a business style hotel that does the important things right and I felt compelled to answer the survey email after staying there for a few days recently. The front desk staff was courteous, and the nice man worked with housekeeping to check me in early after my 15 hour journey which meant a lot as you may imagine. The highlight for me was the bedding, which was honestly the best hotel bed I ever slept in. The flat screen HDTV was nice, as was the free high speed wired/wireless internet which to me was absolutely essential. The brakefast buffet was also above average and well stocked even after 9AM during my visit. I don't have super high standards, but overall this hotel exceeded my expectations.
