Perfectly adequate if you don’t need frills.
We found only two sockets in our room, so with two mobile phones to charge, a cool box to run and a kettle also to plug in we had to rotate their use. That’s the only minus. A plus was that we could park our car in the higher section of the hotel car park and didn’t need to lug all our luggage up any stairs to our upstairs room (there was no lift). Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat there, leaving too early for breakfast.

Nice breakfast
Bed was comfy and the breakfast was very nice. Room wasn’t the cleanest though and the door didn’t block out much of the noise from other guests. Service was good. Local area is very drab. Not much life at all.

Very basic, which is fine. Only real drawback was that the computer system was having issues and check-in took a long time. No access to elevator, either, which was too bad.

Quiet location on outskirts of Melsungen
We liked this hotel, it was very peaceful and 5 mins drive to the lovely half-timbered medieval town of Melsungen. The hotel has plenty of parking and a restaurant. It has a slightly run-down feel, but the rooms are pleasant and the beds are very comfortable. The only problem with our room (222) was the blackout blinds did not fit the window and let light in around the edges. Very pleasant staff. Had a good meal at the Thai restaurant in town! Would stay again.

Poor hygiene
We chose this hotel due to its location close to the highway while on a roadtrip through Europe. Upon entering the room we found that it smelled of cigarrette smoke. A lot. And a rather big spider web in the bathroom. We were willing to ignore that. However, the bed had hair everywhere, which was absolutely disgusting. We had to change rooms. Breakfast was good considering the price! However I didn't quite feel comfortable eating, considering the hygiene level of the room.

Convenient Hotel Near A Beautiful Old Town
The Ibis Hotel is located just outside the beautiful half-timbered town of Melsungen, and was the chief reason for selecting the Hotel. We have stayed in other Ibis Hotels in various countries, and this one did not disappoint us. The Hotel was very easy to find and access, and there was ample parking close to the building. The check-in was very quick, and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was roomy, with a comfortable bed, and the bathroom was modern. The Hotel was quiet. We did not eat at the Hotel restaurant, so I cannot comment on the service or fare.

Convenient and great value if you are in transit
The check in was a breeze as we booked on line. The receptionist did not speak any English but tried her best to explain where the room was, etc.

overnight stay - it would have been nice to be greeted with a smile and more attentive to knowing nearby fast food places - we managed to find somewhere on our sat nav within 8 min drive - was told at reception there were lots of restaurants in the town, really not what we were looking for - we wanted somewhere inexpensive and quick!

Kassel roadside in
Large hotel out of town 1 km aloneside road but no traffic noise. great attitude of clerk/staff. helpful and quick registration. rooms good size and clean with good shower. atmosphere is a hotel without extras. Breakfast is available but bit expensive. A bit of a drive from Kassel, but nice town nearby.

Convenient overnight stop.
For an overnight stop whilst travelling this was the perfect place but I wouldn't want to stay longer. A little difficult to find and at night the entrance was poorly lit. Receptionists however was helpful.

Poor facilities for disabled - no lift, but steps
Staff were perfect, rooms fine, breakfast okay, but poor access for those who find it difficult to walk. Convenient for motorway junction but not within easy walking distance of town centre facilities, etc.. Otherwise, very good value. I would stay again, but not with my father who has difficulty with stairs. Even the one disabled room is up steps! Staircase between ground and first floors is very steep.

We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel except for the last day. When we showered in the morning we noticed that the water was only luke warm, more to the cold side than the hot. When we returned to the hotel late afternoon, there was no hot water at all. The hotel had turned off the geyser for the part of the hotel where we stayed! When we complained about this, we got all different excuses but they did offer us a free breakfast the following morning. It should have been a free nights accommodation as that is the quarantee that they make!

I don't write reviews, but this one deserves one: I only once stayed in an even worse hotel in my life. Congratulations Ibis, you became the second worst hotel... Bed: terrible, better on the floor. Walls: thin like paper. You hear everything till 3 AM or you can finally faint. Breakfast: What breakfast? €10 for bread and jam. Finally you pay almost the same as a far better hotel but you get the worst total service ever. You go and better stay at a hostel if you consider this piece of building as a hotel. No go!

Glimrende hotel for den rejsende
Hotellet er godt beliggende tæt ved autobahn. Melsungen er et besøg værd, hvis der skal aftensmad på bordet. Værelserne er ok, men sengene noget smalle for store mennesker. Morgenmaden var ok.
