Good clean convenient hotel, comfy bed. Nice reception/bar area. Didn’t have food but menu looked reasonable. Excellent EV charging- 4 charge points working on Charge Assist app which was easy to use and good value. Downside is the car park charge but that seems to apply to all hotels in York.

The property was okay but expensive for the roomsnd parking the rooms were okay but lots of stains on the carpets. The bathroom towels had marks on them even though they were washed location was good as near to everything. But wouldn't stay here again didn't eat here so do not know about the food

We lived that it was easy to find, central and modern. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The hotel was modern and breakfast was wholesome. We didn’t like paying the £16 parking but the river walks were special

Lovely hotel. Quiet. Nice location, walking distance into York. Friendly, help staff. Brilliant breakfast and a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely stay again!

Check in speedy and efficient. Room is great value, though upper floors of hotel look tired and well used. Reception and bar & restaurant open plan and modern, with quirky fixtures and service. We were staying as we had concert tickets for the Barbican (just across the road) so happily paid the £16 (!) for secure overnight parking. Breakfast was excellent, with a full view of the barrage and riverside walkways. Staff were good at explaining the buffet and what was available. Lovely light room and fab coffee, I had a full english breakfast, husband had a continental. We Would recommend this hotel, it's excellent value for money, and its central location is ideal for exploring.

The staff were excellent and the location is also great. Easy walk to the key sights of York. However, the property was dated, with stains to the carpet and issues in the bathroom. They were renovating several areas at the time which is good news.

Bath was dirty and full of hair. 1 towel was used and covered in hair and make up. Shower screen was dirty. Carpet around the bin was covered in stains which looked awful. Bedside light was broken and hanging by the wire.

Great value & parking
Stayed 1 night. Excellent location for Barbican & rest of York. Parking £15 but with little parking in York its a bonus. Room lovely, restaurant meal Excellent and all staff friendly. Have stayed before will stay again.

We were given a disabled facilities room with a very high toilet and a very low sink. 1. I am very short and my feet didn’t touch the ground when sitting in the loo!! 2. I suffer from a bad back, which wasn’t helped by bending over every time I washed my hands! 3. The shower was difficult to use due to its central location and the curtain was in the way all the time! 4. The loo had no lid!! Very unhygienic!!! 5. The Bathroom needs a good refurb!

Another brief stop at this hotel. Generally ok service as able to check in early. Room spacious however plenty of stains on carpet which also looked tired. Breakfast was minimal and time was spent waiting for items to be replenish. Sausages were under cooked and had a very unusual taste

Disappointing.
The hotel is in a great location. However, the room was extremely dated. The toilet and bathroom are separate and there is no sink in the toilet to wash your hands. It was difficult to navigate to the bathroom from the toilet in the middle of the night. The rooms need sound proofing. I was constantly awakened by slamming doors. The bathroom needs to be re-grouted and the tap in the sink was very badly designed, you had to reach right back under the extending tap to reach the water flow. The carpet in the room was badly stained and there was staining up the wall in the toilet. The pillows were very flat; one was like a sliver of cotton wool and the other was rock hard. We asked for the room to be made up and they didn’t replenish the tissues, which had run out of. All in all, we were extremely disappointed.

Highly recommend for a business trip to York.
A lovely hotel. Modern and clean. The room was very comfortable with both a small bath and a shower. Nice restaurant, with a good selection of options and a very good breakfast. The staff were all really helpful and friendly. The parking is £16 for 24 hours which is quite expensive but parking is generally expensive in York. Easy walking distance from the city centre - around 15 minutes to the Shambles from the hotel.

The only downside is that the heating was not efficient, the room was chilly. The positive being the food. Lovely meal and the morning bacon bap was the best I can ever remember having …thank you and well done

Poor upkeep of the room
Amazing hotel, the reception area is very modern, vibrant and welcoming, the staff are lovely and the car park system is simple and easy. The hotel is in a fantastic location, just minutes to the centre of York. The room however whilst being modern, bright and spacious was let down by the heavily marked carpet and the USB sockets which did not work, all was mentioned to the hotel on checkout, these issues let the rest of our stay down.

Excellent location for shows at the Barbican. Large, comfortable rooms with hot drinks facilities. Our room had a lovely view of the river too, would definitely stay again.
