“Great location”
This is a great littel hotel, a 10 min walk from Time Square. The staff were helpful. The room was clean. There was a supermarket next door. lots of restaurants nearby, and easy access to trains, buses and theatres. Breakfast was all you needed to get you started for the day. OK the plates and cutlery were disposable - but we got past that on the first morning. If you want a reasonably priced hotel where nothing is too much trouble, we thought this place was great.
“Just LOVE this hotel”
I have just returned from my second stay at the Hampton Inn, Times Square North, and my 4th visit to New York City. I cannot speak highly enough about this hotel. The staff are friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Rooms are spacious, warm, clean and very comfortable. The complimentary breakfasts are excellent and provide a good start for the day. Free drinks are available 24 hrs. The location is very central for everything the average tourist would wish to see, and the subway is easy to use for downtown locations that are rather a long distance to walk. I would most certainly recommend this hotel, and hope I will be able to return again!
“Good choice in cash strapped times”
The staff were friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was okay and there are plenty of diners in the area if they don't serve what you want. The room was a good size and clean but the carpet showed signs of wear and could do with replacing. A glance into other (empty) rooms showed they were much the same. The location is good for Times Square and theatres and is a comfortable walk from Central Park.
“Would recommend to a friend”
The hotel was superbly located just 5 blocks north of Times Square and about 7 blocks south of Central Park, plus only a block or two from the subway so getting around was really easy. The staff at the hotel were fantastic. The room we checked into smelled a bit funny so they moved us into another room immediately and the Manager even left an apology note and chocolates the next day! The room was always very clean and I cannot find anything to complain about. All the staff were so helpful and the Concierge helped us out a lot. On one of the worst days weatherwise they even had hot cider for guests in the lobby which was a nice touch. I would definately recommend this hotel to friends.
“Great Thanksgiving NY trip”
Stayed at the Hampton Inn for 6 nights over Thanksgiving 2011. Hotel staff were incredibly helpful and the room was perfect for what we needed. Close to Times Square (for shopping/sightseeing) and Central Park (for the Macy's Parade), very clean & quiet rooms and comfortable queen beds. Breakfast was included as was all-day coffee & fruit. Would definitely go back.
“very central to everything”
The only problem we had was when we arrived (we had booked 1 room with 2 queen beds) they cld not give us our room as we had to have 1 room with 1 queen bed and 1 sofa> When we asked why?( as we had booked 4mths prior)-they told us that the people that had been in our room prior wanted to extend their stay by another night so they had priority. (I am sorry but I have never heard of this before) Usually if you want to extend your stay and the room has been already booked they wld tell you this and provide you with another room. The Manager on duty that night was very rude - but the day manager was very apologetic regarding this matter.
“very good value and location”
We were close enough to Times Square and broadway area, the hotel was veru clean, staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was excellent. It was nice to arrive and have hot coffe and tea available 24 hrs. Very good recommendation!!
“RubensR”
Ratings are always relative, so I did it based on what you expect x what you get. The hotel is clean, has a nice full breakfast (quite crowded though) included in the daily rate and is perfectly located just few block from many of the top Manhattan atractions. The free wi-fi works perfectly, the staff is competent and friendly. It is well above average when you compare with Hotels nearby at the same rate.
“Excellent hotel in a great location !!!”
My family and I stayed at the Hampton Inn Times Square North during four nights. The hotel staff was very polite and the overall experience was excellent. The neighborhood was very nice and Times Square was a short walk away (ten minutes). A metro station was just around the corner. The breakfast was OK. We would definitely stay at the Hampton Inn again. Since four days in New York is not enough, we'll be returning soon for at least five more days. I trully recommend this hotel for travellers with young kids. We went on Thanksgiving week and the weather was excellent (40-60's).
“Our Open Secret Hotel”
I do not want to write this review because I want to keep this hotel to myself. I have stayed in many more expensive hotels in New York but this one has the spirit of the place about it. Yes, it could do with more lifts, a small makeover, and a better computer suite BUT things work, the staff are wonderful, you feel looked after and there are many little winning touches: cakes brought out for afternoon tea, a welcome and free breakfast, free wi-fi and more besides. When I visit NY again, this is where we shall stay. It's near Central Park and Times square which makes it ideal. So, please don't book this hotel. We want it to ourselves with its sense of family, its warmth and the friendliness of the clientale it attracts. My sort of hotel in my sort of town...
