History and Comfort
The whole area around New Kent is full of history, but not all can boast of housing Martha Washington and hosting George as he courted her! It was a treat to be able to stay here. Marty’s Kitchen, across the street, offered tasty local dishes very reasonable priced.
The only challenge we had was the location of the bathrooms. A couple of guests had to go through the room of another to get to the bathroom or go downstairs.
Coffee availability was plentiful in the form of Keurigs in both floors. There were also carafes for brewing coffee and an ample supply of cream, sugar and substitutes along with a variety of teas. These were wonderful to have on hand so that we didn’t need a trip to the grocery store for those basics.
The hosts met us promptly in person at checkin time and were more than gracious.
It was a grand time for 5 long-term (never say “old!”) friends!
