Despite a bit of waiting on my check in as they couldn't find the key. The staff was very friendly and the fact that they have a pub made the moment very pleasant. The room was ok. Confortable bed and lovely views to the sea. Good breakfast with sea views. Sad I couldn't stay for another night as they will have live music.

Cute, clean rooms on top of a pub. Beautiful view of the water (we stayed in room 9). Surprisingly quiet for being on top of a bar!

Start of Great Glen trip.
We booked a single night to rest between leaving Edinburgh and a slow trip down the Great Glen. What a wonderful surprise. The Bandstand is a lovely small inn & pub. Friendly staff, comfy room & great location. We actually regretted leaving after only one night. Nairn is a lovely and quiet town. We would definitely stay again. Be aware- all rooms are upstairs and there is no lift- which we’ve found to be typical in Scotland.

The staff are very accommodating, And the room was outstanding and the view of the ocean was even better. The breakfast was more than expected in fact very good and the chef made things to order for each individual person. Great Little town with a lot of history well we’re to stop.

Needs upgrade.
The room was very small. Silicone in shower was black and moulded. Curtains were coming off the rails. Bed didn’t have a headboard so pillows fell into window recess. There was a lot of noise from the bar. It was cheap and the food was good.

Cheerful, charming, caring
Wonderful people run The Bandstand. It's cheerful, charmingly appointed and in a location second to none in town. Paul and his team are very caring and took over the business not so long ago. They were redecorating the public areas during my stay, which makes me think the hotel is only going to get more pleasant.

This hotel Braeval did not seem to exist. It is now called the Bandstand restaurant. The room I booked was a double, when I got there I was given 2 singles. The room was very small and the bathroom had a sewerage smell about it. I ordered breakfast with I said eggs and toast. I got 1 egg and a small piece of toast. Later in the day I checked my credit card and they have charged me twice so I phoned up and the reply was the manager is too busy to speak. Please avoid this hotel. I stay in hotels on average 3 times a week this has got to be among the worst

Noisy room and rubbish service
I had the twin room, room 1. On the face of it it seemed fine but it was a warm day in Nairn and the room was stuffy. I opened the window to get some air in after dinner and was immediately hit by a loud noise. At first I thought it was the fan in the bathroom but realised it was the rather large extraction unit outside my window for the kitchen. It stayed on until 10.30 and began again at 6.30am. Personally I think you should be told about this before being given the room, esp for the early start. There was no mistaking that noise when it kicks in. I had to ramp up the tv volume from 28 to 40 to hear anything. The fan aside, you could also feel your bed reverberate while staff worked in the room below. Aside from the noise, the bed was comfortable enough but a bit compact. The bathroom was tiny but functional. I’m not sure my husband could have managed the shower if he had been with me this trip. It was a bit small. Breakfast was ok but service wasn’t great. There was only 1 table of 5 when I arrived and I was ignored by the waitress for 10 minutes. I had to find a menu on another table to see what was on offer. she eventually came over and asked what I’d like to drink and eat. By then she had already been back and forth a few times and in fact then served another guest who had arrived a few minutes after me. What a welcome! Would I go back again? No way, and for £90 I think it was a bit of a joke.

Sea views, beach walks and excellent food.
Great hotel in perfect location with sea views and beach walks outside the door. About 20 miles from Loch Ness where we had a stunning walk but didn’t see the monster. Very friendly and helpful staff. We ate at the hotel three evenings, fantastic food with really good vegetarian and vegan choices. I’m veggie and didn’t exhaust the options. A very relaxing holiday all round. We’ll definitely return to explore more of the area.

Beach 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel. (There’s also the beach right in front of the hotel).

We had a fantastic room with a superb view of the bay. The room was spacius and well maintained, the bathroom a little cramped. The WiFi was good and free. Parking was plentiful around the hotel, much of it on local roads. The hotel is in an ideal spot, close to the front and a minute or two's walk from the main street. The bar was well stocked and the staff well-informed. The restaurant was a major disappointment for us - the food was just plain bland and overpriced. The same at breakfast, where everything just seemed to be a 'cheap' option. It honestly would not put us off staying again - because everything else was great and there are lots of eating out options.

A superb seaside hotel with a family friendliness. Great views of the North Sea / Moray Firth from all rooms -- I saw three of them and all are remarkably large comfy and well-appointed. The major point though about the Braeval is the wonderful staff members downstairs at the Bandstand restaurant and pub -- our group of three American golfers ate all our dinners there for three nights rather than walking anywhere else in town because the food and drink were so good and we were made so welcome by everyone who worked there. Cheers to manager John owner Paul server Mariah (sp?) and their cohort -- we will be back next glorious Highland summer.

The area was beautiful and surprisingly close to a lovely beach type area on the firth. We didn't have time to explore as it was just a stop over, but appeared to be quite a bit to see and do, it a quaint town.

Worst bed I ever slept on. Small room. Too hot. Open the window and the vent from the kitchen enters the room. Noisy. Off smelling. Good Breakfast. Left after 1 night although booked 3 and it was non-refundable. Stairs to room, no lift. Parking on street if you're lucky enough to find a spot. tiny shower.

I'm sorry to hear your stay at The Braeval did not meet your standards. All of the beds in the hotel have memory foam mattresses for total comfort. I'm sorry if you thought the bed to be uncomfortable. The radiator in the room can be adjusted to meet desired temperature. A few of the rooms in the hotel are slightly affected by noise when the kitchen is in operation, but this stops at 9pm. We are only a small hotel and cannot justify an elevator. Parking outside the hotel is limited. However, guests are permitted to park in the private car park along in our sister hotel, The Havelock. I'm glad you enjoyed breakfast.
