My family and I recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt Muscat and it was a great experience! It was our first family trip after having our baby and the staff was AMAZING! Everyone was so kind and accommodating. The hotel is very charming and welcoming. You can tell that it is a bit older but not in a negative way. All facilities were clean and easy to use. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family!

Some may complain that the property is dated but I love the vintage vibe. B'fast is nice and plentiful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I find the toiletries rather low quality for 5* hotel and still in little containers. Thanks for having us.

This is listed as a 5 Star hotel but to be honest, maybe it was ten to fifteen years ago. The hotel is very dated and it's not exactly 'beach-fronted' as advertised! The beach is public, not looked after, and completely separate from the hotel. I arrived off an overnight flight and the first thing the reception staff asked me was if I was a Hyatt member. I told him no, he asked did I want to sign up…no, what I want is my bed and something to eat. He told me that my booking didn’t include breakfast which it did! when I told him this he said he couldn’t see it on the system and that I would have to pay. I was also told that the breakfast didn’t start until the following day even though I arrived at the hotel at 8am! They made no effort to use discretion or be flexible to a new guest, considering I’d just come off an overnight flight and the hotel was dead! The room was clean and fine – no issues there. One thing I would say however, is that they have only one plug socket (for international plugs) which is all the way on the other side of the room. So you cannot plug any devices in, such as your phone or laptop, by the bedside. The concierge tried their best but were not very knowledgeable regarding tours and trips. I ended up finding a tour agent in a coffee shop! The breakfast setting was outside with no view of anything as there was tarpaulin everywhere and the dining area was dated. The food very average. This hotel was recommended to us by someone who has visited numerous times and really enjoyed their stays, so we booked here specially. It was an absolutely beautiful property, very conveniently located, had friendly staff (especially Mahmoud), was clean, accommodating, and safe/peaceful. We cannot wait to come again and would definitely recommend this hotel to others. We also really appreciated the traditional art work, antique doors/windows, and vibrant cultural influences all around the building. Staying here made our stay in Muscat that much more enjoyable. very disappointed experience
a few days before arriving at the hotel I had a stroke and was in hospital I informed the hotel about my medical condition but it turned out that the hotel staff had no conscience and no respect for their guests, I was denied the possibility of a refund and was not even allowed to change the booking date,thank you very much Khalifa from the front desk :(

"Grand" indeed! But a bit isolated without a car
"Grand" indeed! Gorgeous marble and stone everywhere. Renovation work off to the side of the main reception desk should be over soon. The rest of the hotel was fine. My room was comfy, and the central pool area between wings of the hotel is sheltered and relaxing. (Try to get a room overlooking the CENTRAL garden, if possible. Mine looked at a dusty backside tennis court and utility area. There was sea beyond that, however.) As an alternative to the pricey breakfast buffet, the nearby French Bakery is one of the few off-site food venues. It has a variety of food besides coffee and pastries and is open till late. If one has a car, it's a fine location (Shati Al-Qurum). If one doesn't, getting around is all by taxi, and there are few services or dining options within easy walking distance in this diplomatic quarter. A relaxing, full-service get-away if a family just wants a self-contained vacation resort and is happy to pay more for in-hotel meals.

The hotel is a great place to rest, relax and enjoy the sunshine. The food is great and the staff very helpful, including helping organise day trips. The rooms are huge and comfortable. Its also right on the beach which is nice to get away from the hotel. Otherwise there isn't much around, you need to get taxis if you want to go anywhere.

The Grand Hyatt is a great place to stay in Muscat. While it is a distance from major roads, it is on the beach and has a nice pool. The staff, from Rakeesh running the breakfast buffet to the GM are committed to doing a great job for their guests. I'd stay here again.

A grand old Lady who is very run down in areas
The Grand Hyatt Muscat has the bones of a grand old Omani Treasure. The architecture and ambiance of the reception and atrium area are stunning and convey a rich charm. The rooms are very comfortable, however the hotel has become very run down in areas. Our toilet did not flush... so we had to use the public toilets in the atrium. The pool and outdoor area was in a terrible state. There were many mosaic tiles missing from the bottom of the pool creating a real hazard for toes. The tiles and finishing around the edges were all cracked and peeling and coming away. Fascia boards at the pool bar were all coming away and were in terrible disrepair and the pool bar was looking very tired like you would see in an abandoned hotel. It was quite a shambles. Certainly not something that I would expect from such a great brand as Hyatt. Suggest the Hyatt executive get down and take a look and allocate some budget to a smarten up. Aside from that, the reception and concierge service was great - very friendly and welcoming.

Nice hotel
Hotel was beautiful and the staff were extremely friendly. Shame the pool bar and restaurants were closed, but understand it was due to Ramadan. Breakfast was ok, could do with a little more selection as was more or less same everyday. Could also do with coving up the food. A lot of old people were coughing over it.

Amazing hotel
I never leave reviews but this was the best hotel I have ever stayed in and I feel like we have stayed in some lovely places. The downside is everything is at least double the price of outside hotel prices but if you can get out to buy amenities or your little extras (ours was a Diet Coke!) then it’s no issue. Lots of water was provided, breakfast kept us going until dinner and was amazing! Pool beautiful. Staff were so lovely and helpful. Gym excellent and great facilities if you need to shower before a late flight. Clean, tidy. Just wonderful

Omani luxury at its finest
The grand hyatt Muscat is a very famous hotel with a superb reputation. The pool is amazing and the interior design is very luxurious and regal. The staff are super friendly too! The only thing I would suggest as an improvement is to have electricity sockets by the bedside rather than on the other side of the room from the bed.

Not worth the price and time
The team who took care of my car parking was very good, the provided parking next to a power plug. The good points ends there. The hotel is clearly understaffed, the towels are changed every 4 days(!!) - covid excuse but charging same price. For several times I called Reception or room service and nobody picks the phone. I asked for towels and water, nobody showed up and I was ashamed to put my family on this hotel. Finally, the food prices are ridiculously high. A soft drink in this hotel is 50% higher than similar hotels in UAE, which generally has high prices. The breakfast was subpar for the price. There was a single Waiter in the pool area, he was working very hard. Finally, in this hotel there are no lifeguards for kids, which for me was the nail in the coffin. I was so dissatisfied with my money badly spent on this place that I was wondering why I took my family out of our home for this.

The outdoor pool area was beautiful. Workout facilities were extensive. Restaurants had good food and variety. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was convenient to the airport, Old Muscat, the Grand Mosque, the Royal Opera and other likely destinations. The area felt very safe. An excellent Persian restaurant, Fedowski’s is right across the street.

Downhill hotel
This place has gone down hill fast, from the swimming pool to the brunch. There are MUCH better values in Muscat and overall service didn't save the place either. No housekeeping after 2 nights, was told pool bar was open and it wasn't (in fact algae under the pool bar areas) and staff are basically the level of a 2 star hotel. Never staying here again with so many better options nearby

Every thing in this hotel is fantastic all the stuff is friendly every thing clean, my suggestion, it better to make discounts for the people sitting more than 10 day or to the people want to extant the sitting in this hotel

You can tell the hotel was once something very special, but it is in need of a renovation if I must pick a negative. Our room was very spacious but very dimly lit and the worst thing was the damp like smell in the room. I had to make sure to use extra perfume because I'm sure the smell got stuck in my clothes. I don't mean to sound picky, but bathroom could most definitely have been cleaned better. We did however have a good iron for hotel room standards. The breakfast was ok. The pool area was pleasing. My only real "complaints" here are regarding the condition of the hotel, but i must say that the staff were really wonderful!! Overall, i definitely wouldn't say this is a 5star hotel, but it was hardly a terrible stay either, just not 5 star. Location and beach were great!!
