We were in town to hike and not looking for anything fancy, so this was the perfect place for our low budget. Cheap, old-school motel walking distance from downtown. The staff is nice and helpful - especially Susan! The check-in/check-out process was super easy. Grocery store, bars, restaurants, dispensary within a few blocks. Nothing fancy but a good deal for such a last minute purchase.

Terrible!!! Will never stay there again. Had to check in at another motel, the outside stairs are a nightmare, especially for a handicap person, no railing, no light in the entrance to enter the room, no safety bar or anything to hold onto in the shower. There weren't even cups to get water with. Mold spots on bathroom wall. No one came to clean the room or bring fresh towels. Parking lot was dimly lit. NEVER AGAIN !!!

We had to go to another Motel a short drive away to check in and had to go back to that motel to get ice! Very inconvient

Adding a mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot would be the only changes i would recommend, other than thet i enjoyed my stay. It was quiet and not crouded. Liked that it was just far enough from the main hustle and bustle of the rest of town. If returning to the area i would definitely book again.

Just an old motel, so don't expect much, short staffed so we could not ck in until 5 so they could get the room clean which was inconvenient. Deadbolt did not work on door but handle locked. Beds were comfortable though, it was okay since we are hardy girls, the price was indicative of what was received.

There was no air conditioning and the temp was over 90 the day we were there. The ceiling fan did not work either. There was only one plug in the room, so we had to chose between a lamp, charging our cell phones, or using the box fan. The mattress was horrible, the fixtures were old and water damaged. Felt like we time warped back to 1950, not a quaint, comforting 1950, but a hot, miserable, no air conditioning, or modern electrical devices 1950.

I kept telling myself, pretend you're camping. Hotels in the area were sold out. We were stuck. Every night, the Carpenter Ants would crawl from the rotten drywall in the bathroom. There were bees flying around the room as well. On our 3rd night, my husband's ankle was bit while laying in bed. The carpet was filthy and damp. The area was quiet. The man that checked us in reviewed an area map. I expected a bit less filth for $150/night. I learned that in Munising stay with commercial hotels.

I couldn't check in until 3:30 because the room wasn't ready. When I got there I was rudely asked, "can I help you?!?" When I said I was there to check in I was told, " it's going to be about an hour." I asked if check-in was at 3 and she said, "well I can't put you in an dirty room!"

Some people might not like a property with old fashioned door locks and keys. The property was clean and check-in was efficient. Room was clean and suitable for a single night's stay. As motel is built on slope and the entrance to our room required mounting a total of fives steps, this motel might not be suitable for individuals with mobility issues.

First time we have stayed in a room with no coffee. Was fine that there was no air conditioner, the ceiling fan was great! I could have called for it but there was no soap or shampoo, had it on my bag.

Save yourself the mistake!
We were optimistic that our one night stay would be great after George the owner called us to confirm our reservation. He was very pleasant and kind. Check in staff was very friendly. We did have to check in at another motel on the Main St. due to staffing. Driving back to the motel the neighborhood is extremely unsightly and gives you that uncomfortable feel. The sign blinks giving you that Bates Motel feel. Upon entering the room we were greeted by the futon with the extremely large stain. The desk is water logged particle board, the listing does not advertise that it does not have A/C however a fan was plugged in whirling the unpleasant smell around. The curtains were extremely worn and off their hooks. No phone to reach the front desk. No chain for the door. The bathroom light didn’t work. We contacted Hotels.com for a resolution and they helped us by asking us to reach out to Dawn in the morning. We checked out and the desk person was sympathetic and said she would talk to the owner. We had to check into another hotel costing much more. We stopped by the desk the next am to check on our refund status and Dawn was there and really didn’t want to listen to anything we had to say. She said we would receive a refund in a few days. This is not a $150 room. This is a $69 room at best. We were actually ok when we booked to help the mom and pop motel out since it was one night. Thought it would be charming and cozy. Quite the contrary. Simple things could clean this place up.

Sweet staff and great hospitality
Incredible staff!! The rooms are not “newly” updated but the atmosphere was amazing! Off the beaten path so it’s less crazy but not far from anything! I would absolutely stay again! Thank you to the amazing ladies who work there, best customer service!

Expedia - you are at fault for not disclosing that there is no air conditioning. The hotel is at fault for there not being hot water. Terribly overpriced for the conditions - the worst I have experienced - but they can get away with the pricing because there are no reasonable options in the area. pay up before staying here.

Was a little challenging finding the location. Motel is an older facility and does need some improvements inside and outside. If you are into more modern amenties, this is not the motel for you. Good location for an overnight stay though.

We had 3 rooms reserved....we knew per previous reviews that everything would be dated and ok with that but one of our rooms was very musty/moldy smell and ceiling in it was covered in mold.....second room was ok, but had hole in floor bly closet(scared to walk in that area...soft) third room was fine....only dated as expected....front desk staff was great did what she could to help us but everything in town was booked out so we had no choice but to squeeze all our people in the two rooms....i believe room reviews would depend on room you get put in.

I’m august there was no air conditioning and fans didn’t work. The floor had not been cleaned in a long time. Made our feet black. And you had to go to another hotel to check in.

The staff are great. The owners of this property have a lot of nerve charging $100 a night for this dump! Not even air conditioning. No hot water the first day. Handyman did come the second day and fix it and helped me jump start my motorcycle. Very nice guy nice lady on the desk .
