I have stayed in hotels, hostels and Airbnb on 5 continents and this was the worst accommodation I have ever seen! No window coverings on ground floor looking into common patio, trash everywhere, dirty, fire hazards. Totally unacceptable and I would like a full refund.

Hotel S16 is great if you're looking for a room right above a cabaret that plays music all night and into the morning. It was listed as economy, so I didn't have super high expectations, but a hostel would probably have been both cleaner and less noisy. Maybe the second floor is better. I also found a blood stain on the bottom of the mattress in my first floor room and there were four carts of dirty linens staged in the main hallway to the rooms that reeked of urine. The staff was fine, the greater room area was clean, I just wouldn't stay again, nor recommend.

No heat in my room, besides that it was acceptable
Not the greatest hotel, but also not as bad as I expected. It's probably the cheapest place around the station. But come on, you gotta have heat in the room. My heater didn't work and the towel rack heater didn't work in the bathroom. At least there was hot water and enough bedding.

no heating in the bathroom at all, heating in the room run down radiator which didn't look too safe, regular heating didn't work, furniture looked like out of trash, WC seat wasn't fixed so the holder for the shower neither I knew the area so wasn't surprised about the location but the photos of the Hotel didn't match at all what the room looked like.

Given some of the very negative reviews, this hotel exceeded my expectations. Contrary to what one or two reviewers have suggested, the area is not run-down, dangerous or full of brothels. It is full of hotels and is just a regular street. However, the hotel is next door to the one strip club I noticed but that didn't present me with any problems and there was no noise. It might have been different had I stayed over a weekend. Check-in was quick and straightforward. However, the receptionist was busy elsewhere in the hotel when I arrived. A guy outside claimed they had been waiting an hour. I was only waiting a few minutes and I had no problem with this. The room was reasonably spacious. Everything worked although there was an intermittent problem with the TV antenna lead connection. I needed to move it frequently for the TV to get a signal. Whilst daily room servicing was OK, the room was in need of a thorough clean. There was dirt around the sink outlet and it sink gave off a foul smell. There was lots of dust in the bedroom. Lack of maintenance and absence of periodic thorough cleaning was evident. The location is superb for the train station and historic centre and noise levels were moderate in my room which faced the rear. Overall, the hotel is far from pristine but it was certainly acceptable for the price.

The area is in great location. I arrived very late around 1 am. The front desk staff was not friendly at all. He didnt even give the wifi password. The morning front desk staff was more friendlier. Anyhow thanks for accommodating my late check in and late check out.

Location is close to central station and around 6-7 mins walk to supermarket. Hotel a taff is very friendly and helpful however: the hotel wifi is super weak, we didnt get any signal at all. The hotel area is pretty noisy at nigh, people partying on the street, just need to make sure you are super tired then you should have no problem going to sleep.

The reception area had a lot to be desired. The elevator was tiny and occupied by laundry. So had to walk up 5 flights of stairs. The room on the otherhand was surprisingly nice. It had two twins with good bedding. The bathroom was decent but once again a tiny shower... Definitely no room for an amour.

Very disappointing and disgusting.
It's not a good hotel for my view, not friendly and the man was telling me i didn't booked for anyroom here that it shows red. It's really sad that at the end of the day i was not allowed to the hotel, the guy said because i was not vaccinated when am fully vaccinated .i will not advise anyone of my family n friends to book such a hotel never.

The area was sketchy, but the room was nice and clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel was inexpensive and close to the train station. The wifi signal was weak and kept cutting out. For a one night stay I would recommend it if you have to catch a train the next day.

PLEASE DONT CHOOSE HOTEL S16 (the worst in Munich in term of safety) When I checked out, I put my backpack for storage at the counter and the staff promised to look after it, however it was stolen by the homeless people on the street. I have lost around 650 Euro personal belongings, including my passport, wallet and laptop. In general, they have the following problem. 1.Honesty- They lied to me at first when they said they just gave my bag to another wrong customer without telling me the truth given that they know my backpack is stolen already. 2.Ridiculouness- They only discover my bed is stolen after 4 hours when I return back to the hotel at 5pm. According to the CCTV, it was stolen by a guy at 1pm and the counter had no staff for a very long time(there is always no one at the counter). If I return back at night, then I believe they will only discuss if my bags are stolen that time. 3. Irresponsibility- I requested compensation for my lost items, they just superficially and officially said they are processing and asked me to wait. However after 12 days of waiting, they still did not get back to me. I have whatsapped the manager and emailed the hotel, and have no replies. They are hiding from me and escaping from the responsibility. So please don’t choose this hotel as it is surrounded by a lot of homeless people that can steal your personal belongings and the owner and managers are very irresponsible.

Excellent location. 300 m to the train station. Lots of downtown food and entertainment. Completely renovated older building. Rooms are small and bathroom is new but tiny. Very clean.

The room itself is nice. The zone is not, but the worst thing is that it took me 20 min to check in, and the guy before me also took long. The clerk at the reception with my passport in his hand kept showing me reservations made by some of else, asking em if that was my reservation. ????

Hotel16 The location is very central to the city. It is a very eclectic neighbourhood Service at the front desk was outstanding. He went out of his way to help us and others find parking or give information about the surrounding area. The rooms were appropriate for the low-cost the bed was very comfortable.

Short walk to trains and Marienplatz
The hotel is convenient to the rail station and Marienplatz but is not in a great neighborhood. Pretty noisy at night with the clubs and bars on the street. We choose it for the easy walk from the train station and short walk to where the Oktoberfest ground were located. The parade for the first day of the Oktoberfest was only half a block from the hotel.

I booked an economy room, so I knew that it would be tiny. It was. That was fine. But it definitely felt like the room also was not clean. To be fair, the bedding, walls, and surfaces were mostly white, so it was hard to hide any dirt (or...um...blood stains). Also, although I had an inside room, I could hear music basically all night, and there are various squeaky doors and floors that make noise all night. It's located right next to a strip club, and sometimes the area felt a little dodgy, although as a woman traveling alone I never really felt unsafe, just cautious. If you can handle all that, it's a great location and a good price. Easy walk to the Hauptbanhof, so it was the perfect jumping-off point for day trips and an easy trip to and from the airport. If you're not planning on spending too much time in the room, this is a pretty good deal.

Although the room stayed no smoking. You could smell the cigarette smoke from the other rooms in the hotel. If you’re not a fan of the smell of cigarette smoke then this hotel is not for you. The pictures on the website depict the shower to be big, but clearly it was too small.
