“More Than My Money's Worth”

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the hotel. The hotel appears to be well maintainted [inside and out]. We stayed 2 nights and all the stafff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the kitchen well kept. There was fresh coffee and lots of waffles. The pool and hot tub were a welcome end to the day. It's unfortunate about the closing of the outlet malls [the hotel is situtated between the 2 ] but there was plenty of shopping within a 10 minute drive. We went to Monroe for Shipshewanna On The Road and plan to return to this hotel next year. I've paid 3x the rate for a less desirable hotel. THANKS EXPEDIA

“Will not use hotel again”

Hotel is out of date, sold smelling, the staff was very friendly but the surrounding area was awful. The road into the hotel had huge pot holes and there was trash all over the road.

Area recommendations
Canton or airport area hotels were much nicer

“In a run down area of town”

The hotel was clean and the service was good/decent however it is located next to a mostly empty/vacant, falling into disrepair, dilapidated shopping mall next to a major expressway on the edge of town. The area it is in seems like it would be a good place for a crime to be committed. Also the pool was full of teenagers- boys and girls with no parents in sight- horsing around, pushing themselves into the pool over and over again and doing things that are not allowed (horseplay) in a hotel pool. Staff never confronted them. I had to yell at them because they were doing it right next to me and my 6 year old and then 10 minutes later they just started up again. This ruined the pool for me and my children who are gradeschool age. Because of these things it might be better to take your business elsewhere.

“A Pleasant stay”

I found this hotel neat and clean and quiet. While I was there there was an event taht caused a slight crowding in the halls but it didn't detract from my stay. The motel is older, but as I said earlier clean. There isn't a restaurant in the vicinity of the hotel (unless you consider Mc Donald's a restaurant) but they had a good self-serve breakfast with choices such as hard boiled eggs, french toast, various breakfast muffins and bagels, cold cereals, instant oatmeal and you could make your own waffle in a special Iron. I used this cooking tool and it worked perfectly every time I used it. I am not a cook and haven't cooked for myself in years. I stayed 6 nights and would stay again. In fact I am planning to visit again in Sept

Traveller's tip
Good luck dining in Monroe. They have plenty of restaurants in Monroe but they are mostly sports bar variety or Denny's, Cracker Barrel and other truck-stop eateries like Bob Evans. Monroe really needs some restaurants that serve more heart healthy meals. Olive Garden would be a step up.
