“Will be back next year”
Stunning facility, impeccable service. Loved the little extras they bring in nightly, like the amateur astonomer who sets up his telescope. Loved the calming live music from the mountains nightly at sundown.
“We will definitely be going back........”
This new Ritz Carlton at Dove Mountain just north of Tucson was stellar from the entrance signage with its unique water fountain to the sublime soothing sunset flute playing ritual, the exquisite decor details and top notch food in their signature CORE restaurant. Our room with its private balcony with views both up and down the valley and surrounding mountain ranges was a private retreat of calm that we enjoyed immensely. We played two rounds of 18 holes of golf on their 3 (9-hole) courses and had a wonderful experience. We also played 18 holes at the adjacent Gallery golfcourse and had a great experience. The hotel has two lovely pools kept at 85 degrees, one of which we used daily for lap swimming. The staff was very professional and kind. My only tiny little bit of negativity was with the seeming vapidness of the very young concierge staff. Bottom line, we can't wait to go back.
“Pampered perfection, what one would and should expect from a 5 star”
Took the family down from Phoenix for a weekend "staycation" at the Dove Mountain Ritz Carlton. For reference, we had recently spent weekend getaways at the Fairmont Princess in Scottsdale, and the Hilton El Conquistador in Tucson. The Ritz really shines in comparison. The staff are super attentive, not pushy, and the location is unparalleled. Set in a steep mountain valley, surrounded by red rocks and Saguaro Cactus, it really is simply splendid. The views around the property are lovely, the overall feel of the location is far more one of a mountain retreat, than one of a desert getaway. Food onsite is very good, if fairly standard fare though. One note: the location may say Tucson, as it is the nearest metro locale, but the resort is truly a ways away from any other amenities. We liked this, but be forewarned that it is a it of a drive to anything else. But again, great place, location, staff, overall 9/10. Nice pools, kids loved the splash pad and waterslide, very relaxing, will certainly return soon. Also, their summer family rates are very agreeable, wish we had set aside more time, will do so next time. DK
“Exellent sevice, loved the surroundings..will be back..very pleased”
Even when we came in 10 mins. After kitchen closed the mgr. Said no problem, what would you like to eat? Everyone was helpful, had smiles on faces, food was excellent....room was great..offerings of things to do..PERFECT!! Loved it...we will be back and we actually have a home in AZ.
“beautiful resort”
this place was great the staff very friendly beautiful resort only negative pool cloudy and green maintenance staff should have anticipated heavy bather load it was 4th of july weekend. We will definetly go back
“Incredible Service”
Without a doubt, the finest, courteous and most accomodating staff of any hotel I have ever stayed at. Add that to the fact the hotel itself is awesome and you have a wonderful combination. if I had one complaint it would be the lack of standard intermediary dinner food items. It's either burgers or an expensive 7 course meal. Not much in between.
“Service not up to Ritz standard”
Location was beautiful, hotel is new and in great condition. Service, particularly at check in and in restaurants, was very average, which is not what I expect at a Ritz property. Most of staff seemed very inexperienced... Certainly not rude, but not savvy. Seemed like many of the staff where working at first job. Would highly recommend spa, particularly Edward. Great services and beautiful location.
“Best Hotel Stay Ever”
Hands down the best hotel stay we ever had! Arrived late at night after long drive from Vegas and it was like an oasis in the desert. Just breathtaking. We were only scheduled for one night but we extended our stay immediately. Our room was fantastic. Everyone on the staff was top notch. Restaurant delicious. You can be as active or as inactive as you want. Wish we could have stayed longer but couldn't think of a story to tell our friends in New Mexico why we weren't showing up at their house as planned :-) We defiintely want to come back to Dove Mountain.
“Small bump but excellent recovery”
We arrived after a late flight into Tucson. I had called in advance to ask that the sofa bed be turned down for our young sons, but alas it was not done. An apologetic attendant arrived with sheets about 10 minutes later and advised us that housekeeping had left for the evening. We fell into our beds (yes, we made it ourselves) after a midnight snack and awoke to a written apology from the night auditor. What excellent service recovery!!! The rest of our stay was excellent , without incident, and this resort is one that we plan to return to again.
“Absolutely perfect”
My husband and I were visiting family in Tucson and wanted a couple of days of relaxation while Grandma watched our little girl. We got everything we needed -- a really nice room, really fantastic staff, great food, great wine list, creative cocktails, loungers in a special 1 foot deep part of the pool, a fantastic spa, a PGA-caliber golf course, sunshine, pretty scenery, and hiking trails to boot. We even saw a desert tortoise on the trail! I also thought the design of the hotel was very good: it fit with the surroundings without being Disneyland Desert Southwest. The only thing I could have asked for was maybe 1 more night. A tip: use the concierge service. Andrew really made sure we got the maximum enjoyment out of our short trip.
