Marvel at the columns, artwork, coins and other items from Roman and Greek rule. Visit the Scythian tomb, where the first Greek papyrus of Romania was found.
The region is among the hottest in Romania, with mild winters and scorching summers. A strong sea breeze refreshes sunbathers year-round.
The town overlooks the Black Sea on the eastern coast of the county of Constanta. It is between the resorts of Vama Veche to the south and Costinesti to the north. The nearest major transportation hub is the Mihail Kogălniceanu International Airport, 50 miles (80 kilometres) north of the commune. Ride a minibus from the city of Constanta in less than 1 hour.
