“Definitely stay here again”
Perfectly located, service superb and quality hotel. Excellent weekend
“Second time lucky”
I booked the desirable room type. The first room i was offered was a long way from being ' desirable', more like a prison cell, as it had the smallest window in the corner of the room, the shower was a hand held, when it should have been 'rain fall' type and missing bath robes. After 20 mins of phone calls by the very able and helpful front desk staff. I was moved to an acceptable room. Minor gripes were sky sports that did not work a lot of the time and a poor wifi connection plus tired and old decoration. Good points were a very good breakfast and helpful staff, plus very comfortable beds and reasonable room service prices.
“Super location, really helpful staff!”
Clean, central, comfortable & convenient! Everything you could want!
“Very satisfactory”
Excellent hotel and location. Friendly staff and it is worth the extra £10 for the breakfast.
“Terrible Choice”
There ARE a number of hotels within one block of the SAME location. Some I have walked to and personally inspected. #1. 1st Problem with this ABode: They must assume all guests arrive by HELICOPTER! There is NO CAR PARK, and you cannot even stop out front to UNLOAD suitcases! They have a "contract" with a public parking lot TWO BLOCKS AWAY, where you must not only pay to park, but WAG all your bags across gravel and crowded streets to even ARRIVE at the hotel. the curb available is reserved for a Taxi queue ONLY. There is NO HELP getting the bags up the 1-1/2 flights of steps into the hotel! #2. The hotel restaurant touts itself to being the BEST in all Manchester. The ambiance is OK, and the service is good. . . .BUT the food is approximately as good as a Denny's and my single meal was more than 85 GBP! AND your bill will have an "automatically" added tip of 12% whether you LIKE it or not. The three adjacent hotels I went to for all FUTURE stays and personally inspected ALL have INCLUDED car parks, good access, good food (and MUCH more reasonably priced); #3. The rooms are small - even by English standards. Even the LARGEST suites are very small. (one room only! NO IDEA why they're called "suites.") NO wardrobes or closets exist even in the MOST EXPENSIVE suite! #4. EXTREMELY NOISY. Jack Hammers IMMEDIATELY outside from earliest hours. ". . . .Other than being overly EXPENSIVE, not accessable by car, small and NOISY, it was a definately a hotel.
“Great location”
Friendly service: I phoned in advance to advise I would be arriving earlier than usual check-in time. No problem, the room was ready and available. Wi-fi Internet access was easy and fast. Upon logging in you have to remember to change your password within 15 mins. The room was large, with high ceilings and a massive comfortable bed. Opening windows but no view. Ensuite bathroom with a good shower over a big, deep bath. And taps that were obvious to use: one cold, one hot, turn both on for temperature that suits. (Sounds simple, but no so, in many modern hotels). Fantastic location. Less than 5 mins walk to Piccadilly Station (direct to airport), close to Canal Street cafes and bars, convenience stores and easy walking distance to major galleries, museums and shopping precincts. Downsides: wooden floors throughout meant audible footsteps in the corridors, walls perhaps a bit thin, and a small in-room fridge would've been welcome. Otherwise a comfortable, welcoming, and reasonably priced stay. Would definitely stay again.
“Abode luxury and character”
Abode Manchester is a beautiful hotel with lots of character in a modern setting. I loved the room - it was spacious with parquet flooring and unusual lighting. The bathroom was great with a massive bath that I could just sink into! The bed was extremely comfortable and soft and I didn't want to leave. One downside is there was no minibar or fridge, but there were drinks and snacks to purchase in the room. Overall, a brilliant hotel.
“Happy to return”
Perfectly located for the station, all the amenities and comforts necessary for a brief city centre stay.
“A good, central hotel with character.”
The room was a lot smaller than I had anticipated for a hotel of this rating and price. However it was quiet and very comfortable. There are other hotels nearby where for a similar price I could have had a bit more space Overall I felt it was a worthwhile stay.
“Lovely hotel, perfect location”
The room & hotel was great and more than what we could have expected. The only downside was that the wooden floors in the hall & rooms made it for a slightly noisier evening when people came back in the small hours of the night. Staff were very friendly and the adjoining restaurant were great in giving us something that wasn't on the menu for breakfast on Sunday. Would definitely go back given its great location & good facilities.
