This property had great rooms, large and lovely good size bed. Also the curtains were total blockout. Buffet breakfast was very good. Staff service was good, but not much english speaking staff, but friendly all the same. Would recommend.

Perfect room and reception, week breakfast
The room was absolutely spacious, clean and comfortable. Front desk very helpful and friendly at all times. Location of the hotel is convenient and in a safe area; not too far from city centre. If there is one thing I was not very happy about, that was breakfast: from food selection to service. I found the selection a bit week for Mercure and Brazilian standards; also, the staff who greeted me in the morning didn't seem very friendly or helpful. Still, despite the small problems with breakfast, I recommend Mercure Manaus as it is an absolute amazing hotel to rest after a hot day exploring the city and/or the forest.

Comfortable hotel with large pleasant rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Good restaurant. 5 mins walk to Shopping Mall, with many restaurants. Bad points. Not enough glasses in the room. Only one chair, so eating a meal for two delivered by room service was tricky. TV channels limited.

Would recommend and stay again at Mercure Manaus
Everyone at this hotel was very nice and helpful. The rooms are large and comfortable, though the bathrooms could use some updating. The bar served great cocktails (specially a delicious passion fruit caipirinha) very reasonably priced. The breakfast was wonderful. Different flavored fresh tropical fruits juices, delicious fruit and homemade pastries and breads that varied each day. Good strong brazillian coffee. The area around the hotel is residential and safe. A very short walk from de hotel is the Manauara shopping which is quite large and has some interesting shops.Downtown Manaus and excellent restaurants are a short taxi/uber ride away, which are quite cheap here. This hotel has a nice small rooftop pool and sauna.

Clean, affordable hotel not far from airport
We arrived in the middle of the night. The front desk check in was easy and quick. The clerk understood we were exhausted and hurried through the process. We had 3 rooms, two with double beds. When we arrived they didn't have two rooms with double beds and kindly gave us a 4th room at no charge. The hotel is no frills and one of our rooms didn't have a working TV remote, complete Wi-Fi coverage or very much cold water. However, the price was fair for what we received. Most of the front desk staff spoke English which was very helpful. There is a mall within walking distance that has a food court but we ordered room service at 3am which was very good. The breakfast was interesting and perhaps typical in Brazil. If I needed a clean, safe place to stay, I would definitely stay here again. If you need something a little more plush, this isn't it. The hotel also offers airport transportation which we didn't know in advance and would've preferred to use since there were 5 of us.

Clean room and outstanding location
It was very comfortable stay and the room was clean, but the breakfast was decent. The hotel is conveniently located right next to shopping and restaurant area. I will come back again.

Disappointed experience. My Room had no hot water in the bathroom and I had to shower with a very cold water for 4 nights. After my complaint in the first day, the staf spent 4 nights "trying to fix it" with no sucess. Also there is no iron in room. If you use it many times in a trip, you will spend some embarrassing time using a shared Iron in a common area in the end of the hallway.

The Mercure is in the business end of town right next to the big shopping mal and Carrefour. It's all you expect of Mercure and is a nice stay. Staff spoke good English and we're very helpful. Breakfast was good but have had better in Brazil. Wifi was very slow all over hotel. Expected faster.

Nice hotel close to the mall
Everything was fine. No complains. It was close to the mall, you can walk for 10 minutes and you're there. I didn't have breakfast there, but the price is about 20 Reais (U$10) per person.

It might be the culture in that part of the country or a lack of customer service skills for the people working at that specific hotel, but I felt that I didn't get the value for the amount of money I paid to stay there. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone going to Manaus.

I left this hotel with two good notes only: The staff is very kind and the bed is by far the cleanest part of the hotel (whew!). The hotel has an horrible smell in lobby, a poor housekeeping in general and breakfast is disappointing.

Disastrous stay: air con not working right throughout the hotel. Internet only worked on the lower floors or lobby. The staff kept saying that the a/c would be fixed tomorrow (amanha) and then I found out that they had to wait for a part to come from Sao Paolo. Even some of the front-desk staff were exasperated....remember, this is the Amazon in the hot season. I checked out a day early and went to another hotel. Otherwise, exercise equipment broken, only one towel provided per room. Dishes for the kitchen were dirty. Overall, a real nightmare for an above average rate per night.

Room is a comfortable suite. Service - no bell hops and most reception people do not speak English. Got bags to room without a problem and accomplished what was needed through staff. Add taxi fare to Centro and bill is still reasonable.

I've stayed at this hotel many times and it appears to be going downhill. The room was fine and was as expected and the service was okay, but the price has increased significantly and various facilities are falling into disrepair. In particular, the hotel does not seem capable of maintaining the swimming pool, which has grey-green water and the fitness facility is a sham. Internet was also slow and flaky. Unfortunately, I think this "new" hotel is headed very rapidly in the direction of most other Brazilian hotels: downward with little investment in upgrades or repairs. Wouldn't it be nice to know where all the money goes? Probably into Miami condos for the owner and his family.

Not a bad hotel by Brazil standards, which are low compared to other parts of the world. I found it a bit overpriced, but it met my needs in terms of providing an apartment-style room. Also, the location is quite good near shopping (supermarket and mall), so one can walk to get groceries, money, restaurants (in the mall). Overall, I would stay there again. Plus, the staff are very nice and efficient.

The Hotel is located in an area with shopping centres and restaurants all around. Getting into the city centre requires a taxi. Service is friendly but a bit slow, otherwise, staff is trying to do its best . Response to requests is not always forthcoming, and the hotel restaurant is closed on sundays. There is a nice small pool on the roof top and the terrace provides a great view over Manaus.

This is the worst Mercure's unit I've stayed so far. The variety and the quality of the food in the breakfast are low. Internet does not work well; it does not work at all at the 3rd floor. The air conditioning stopped working at night (and we are talking here of a hotel in the middle of the Amazon!). The room had no electricity when I first came in.

Management needs to change
Three years ago we stayed here for a few days. We are from the U.S. and did not know what to expect and we did not have any problems then. When we returned in May of 2010 things had changed for the worse. First, the dest had trouble finding my reservations. They did let us in the room early, but from then on I could see management needs to be more mindful of its foreign and returning visitors. They do not exchange money as before so we had to walk two blocks to the Manaus Mall for each exchange. I blew up a xbox 360 because unlike in most parts of Manaus they are on 220 voltage! The food in the resturant is not very tasty and for some reason the waiter claimed that the credit card machine was broken. First time I had heard of the anywhere!. Even local telephone calls are charged to your bill so be careful and have the right change at the bar. The bed was a double twin with a 3" topper mat which was uncomforable. The hotel is becoming run down so I think a Management change could help. Otherwise the staff was clean and professional and one spoke english well.

We used the hotel as a day hotel whilst waiting for a very late flight. The suite was well designed, cool and airy. Excellent restaurant with interesting and tasty local cuisine. Charming and helpful staff. Manaus does not have hotesl in convenient locations, but this hotel had easy access to taxis and transport.

Atendimento da recepção no check in foi péssimo, deveria se chamar decepção. Parecia que que estava pedindo esmola no hotel. As instalações são mais ou menos não tem nada que justifique o preço da estadia. O estacionamento engana, na descrição do hotel fala disponível mas não relata que é pago e é caro, divide o estacionamento com quem mora no hotel. O café manhã é ruim e os funcionários parecem que estão em trabalho escravo, me senti ate mal em está tomando café lá. Com certeza não volto. A única coisa que valeu a pena foi a localização.
