GROTSPOT
This is the worst place we have ever stayed - the room was dank , smelly and dirty, the furniture was extremely dated and felt like it was from the 70's. The whole hotel is uninviting and has a depressing feel to it. Everything is on it's last legs and needs replacing. We didn't sunbathe round the pool as it also looked very uninviting , the outside areas are scruffy and filthy . We instead went to the Seashells hotel on the seafront and sunbathed there. We tried to stay out all day and kept the time spent in the room to a minimum as it was so bad. There is nothing good to say about this hotel - it is grotty and needs condemning or demolishing asap .

Adequate no frills apartment
The accommodation itself was comfortable, roomy and had everything needed plus a sea view. Some parts of the complex were not very clean e.g. Stairwells. Swimming pools were great. Very loud karaoke was not to our taste but it finished at 11pm.

Quality comes with price
This hotel was cheap comparing to other hotels especially in Valletta so I didn't expect anything amazing and that's exactly what we got. It was fairly clean when we arrived but housekeeping didn't do good job while were there. All they do is emptying bins, do the beds and change towels. they didn't clean the floor, bath tub or washbasin. Few times a week they have karaoke from 20.00-23.00 it's very loud and annoying. Location of Salina Wharf is very good if you want to travel. It's 5 mins walk from bus terminal - 20 mins if u don't know shortcut. There plenty of buses going to all important for sightseeing directions : Valletta, ferries to Gozo and Comino, Mdina etc. Valletta an hour away, ferries 30 mins, Golden Beach 30 mins. You can get 7 days ticket for 21 euros and its valid for Gozo also. St Paul's Bay where Salina Wharf is located is just full of hotels, bars and car rentals so you need buses to see nice places. There are two swimming pools, one of them is indoor. They also charge 70 euros deposit but return it when check out.

Thanks for coming back to us with this review. We are very sorry that the cleaning was not up to your expectations. About the karaoke, its not under our control as it's organised by the restaurant management which is separate from the hotel.

Nice hotel, very quiet location.
It was a nice hotel, not much going on, pool was very nice, bar was ok, karaoke on one night but apart from that not up to much, always quiet. Not much to do in immediate area, there are some nice Resturants around, They is more going on in Bugibba during day/evening, plenty of places to eat/drink, plenty of day trips around the island & Gozo. Would go back to Malta - nice place, lovely people, very friendly.

Good location
Good central location for Qwara/Buggiba Bus station near by for buses all over Island. Apartments nice clean and spacious - the complex needs a bit of TLC!! The bar/restaurant was closed for refurbishment?? Not sure for how long or when. Not a major problem for us as lots of local places to buy basics to eat in or lots of places to eat out!!!

A pleasant stay
I was pleasantly surprised to the cleanliness of our hotel room. The bedding was very clean smelled clean too. The floors were clean and bathroom was clean. The main priorities for me. The receptionist was friendly and my stay for the one night was enjoyable. The only thing that I found wrong in the hotel room was that 1 wall light and 1 ceiling light in the bedroom didn't work. And 1 ceiling light in the lounge didn't work. But they didn't affect our stay at all. I wouldn't definitely recommend Club Salina Wharf hotel for a pleasant stay.

clean and tidy apartments/ hotel
the hotel was very clean and tidy friendly staff nice indoor pool bit chilly for outside pool but was very inviting looking. Only downside was the bar in the hotel was closed but this was only due to it being low season otherwise no complaints plenty of other bars in the are for food and drink.

Perfect for what we needed.
The hotel was what it said on the tin. Basic room with the facilities to see us through the week. We were out most days so made a good & comfortable base to come back to. Close to the sea, shops, bus station and bars. In door pool was adequate but dated. No bar or restaurant at the Hotel itself, however it was out of season so maybe set up by the summer.

Salina Bay
2nd visit to the Salina which is a great budget hotel. Great for access to the rest of the island from the local bus stop which is a 2 minute walk away. Qawra area is nice and fairly quiet with a handful of restaurants and bar nearby - the Al Dente is a great local eatery which is very reasonably priced with some great pasta dishes available. Buggiba is only a short walk away along the coast road and here there are lots more bars and restaurants with plenty of choice. There are a couple of seafront bar kiosks along the pleasant walk which make a great stop for refreshments with great views of the st Paul's bay area. The hotel staff are polite and helpful and the indoor pool is great - warm water in the off peak months and open until 10pm. Just my son an I visited this time and we enjoyed trips to Mdina (186 or X3 buses and approx 25 min trip)and to ghajn tuffieha (223 bus and approx 20 min trip) which getting off at the last stop leaves you at golden sands which has to be one of Malta's nicest beaches. A big swathe of sand and a beach bar which is quite good. A walk to the left of the bus stop takes you to a 2nd beach ghajn tuffieha which is also really nice. You access this beach via steps which add to the appearance of this stunning bay. The walk between the beaches takes you through an area , which when we visited in late Feb 17, was awash with yellow wildflowers and honey bees. The walk around the two bays is really nice. Majjistral park ideal for walks also close

Worst hotel ever
Worst ever experience. Arrived at 13.30 and left at 15.00 after 2 hours of stay. They gave the worst ever room that i saw in my life. I rate it at 1 star. Heaters in the room was noisy , very cold, beds were low quality, no blankets, kitcken ..... old furniture..... and a lot of other things. Hotel.com were ok managed to get money back half as a voucher and half money. Best decision was to leave and find a proper 4 star hotel.

Unloved time warp
Looks like it was built in the late 80s and not touched since. Location good no wifi in rooms only super slow in reception. No lifts, no water pressure overall very grubby. Towels smelled like cigarette smoke. We were there ove Christmas and I the heating could not cope with the mild cold so we froze. This place could be fantastic but I bet it never changes

Nice, quiet hotel that met our needs
This hotel is rated 4 star but I would think it possibly 3 star standard. That said, it was clean and the room was spacious although some things were in need of repair. A lot of other visitors seem to be caught up in timeshare issues and apparently part of the hotel is closing. This didn't affect our stay. There are lots of places around to eat and drink.

disappointing hotel
The best thing about this hotel is that it was cheap! It is also quite central for the centre of Qawra but the area around the hotel is not very nice, it backs onto a residential street, near the front of the hotel is a large derelict hotel - derelict apart from a colony of cats that someone feeds but doesn't clear up their muck! The reception area is fine, it is air conditioned and has free wifi. The check in procedure was laborious but that might be typical of the country. the reception staff were friendly enough. Our room was dingy and badly in need of refurbishment, there was always a musty smell, we overlooked the residential street and had an oblique view of the sea but the sun never came onto the balcony which was small but adequate although it was overlooked by the other rooms in the block at right angles. There was a small kitchen alcove with the very bare essentials, we were given an inventory to sign - there were several things missing which I told reception about, I wasn't that bothered but did request a corkscrew and another glass which were missing from the inventory, the receptionist said we would get them but they never appeared. There was a bath with a shower over but this badly needed replacing as most of the water went direct into the bath rather than through the shower. The bedroom furnishings were very old and shabby. There was no dish towel so we bought one then at the end of the first week the cleaner left us one. We would not go back.

Decent hotel of ur not so bothered; clean
The reception lady with purple hair was the only nice thing about this hotel in all honesty. Part from the fact that it was clean and has swimming pools indoors n out doors. Negatives: we had a twin bed given to us even though I booked a double They don't take ur bins or towels and replace Just a standard room I suppose. If ur not Gona stay in ur room for ur trip then it's good for u. But if u will be spending time on ur room then not so good Aldoe I did hav just a standard double room.

Decent quality for price, but could be better
We stayed at the Club Salina Wharf hotel for a week. We booked a Deluxe Apartment, hoping to get a double bed and some extra quality, even if that meant paying a bit more. We were disappointed. About the apartment: - Bed linen and towels were provided with the apartment. - Cutlery, glasses, frying pans were provided as well, although the amount of kitchen pans was rather limited. - Scouring pad, dishwasher soap and dish towels were not provided. - Shower gel or soap was also not provided. The lack of these items should have been better advertised, and it is certainly an environmental waste to force guests to buy these things that are later disposed of. We have stayed in other apartments that supply them. - There was an air conditioning unit in the room that malfunctioned on the first night. Although we reported it to reception, it didn't get fixed during the week and we didn't see any attempt at it. - There were two other units in the living room, of which only one worked. - The "double bed" was two single beds put next to each other. This might be OK for an standard apartment, but is not OK for a "deluxe" one. - The shower barely had pressure. The bath wasn't too clean, and parts of it almost fall apart. The apartment was spacious and the beds were comfortable, there was a nice balcony with views to the sea, and it was quiet at nights so we could rest well at nights. The hotel has two swimming pools: indoors and outdoors. They were nice, clean and enjoyable.

Perfectly priced hotel
Having used this hotel for the AMP Lost and Found festival we were perfectly placed location wise. The hotel in general is in reasonable condition, I couldn't fault the staff who were very helpful. The only issue was the cleanliness of the room, mainly the bathroom which needed some TLC. We had a small issue with ants (but tbh i've had this before in other countries with a lower ground floor apartment) around the patio doors (Apartment 127). In general though for what we paid, I'd definitely recommend to friends.

Excellent value for money
We stayed 2 nights, wish we had stayed longer. Staff are very helpful and friendly with a welcome drink. Our apartment is modern, clean and the kitchen is fully equipped, lovely hot shower, clean towels and bedding. Very thoughtful details with hair dryer, iron and board, dehumidifier, alarm clock. The neighbourhood feels safe, we managed to park near hotel, lots of restaurants and some food stores nearby. We didn't quite explore the area as we used it as a base to drive to nearby towns for sightseeing. when we had an issue(no fault of the hotel), they quickly resolved the situation. Check out was quick too, they make a call for someone to check the apartment before retuning deposit, but this only took a few minutes. We are very impressed with everything, we didn't expect it to be so good for what we paid, and would happily stay again next time.

Great stay in a great hotel!
We were on a family holiday and loved the hotel! The only negative thing was the indoor pool - there was no hot tub and the water temperature was quite cool considering it was winter. The room was great - really spacious - we stayed in their one bedroom apartment which was great because it had it's own kitchen (having kids with us, it was great to be able to cook for ourselves). The hotel is very near to 2 good supermarkets. Anther good thing - I went down with an illness of New Year's Day, but the hotel staff pointed us in the right direction to the only open pharmacy.

Nice hotel
We stayed here four nights. The staff was friendly and helpful (it was nice to get to try the Kinnie when we arrived). We rented a car and even on the weekends were able to find parking on the street within a minute or two walk from the hotel. The free wifi was only available in the lobby, but there were lots of couches, tables, and chairs - we spent an hour or two there each evening and I never felt like it was crowded. We had the English breakfast one morning (it wasn't included, but it was very reasonably priced). Overall, it was a great deal and the rooms were comfortable. If we go back to Malta we'll stay there again and we would recommend it to friends.

Great location with a super sized apartment.
Location was very good. One street behind the main rd in Qawra and about a 10 mins walk from Buggiba square. We stayed in a one bedroom apart but it was extremely spacious. We were a family of 5 and I had booked the apartment for 5 people. It was more than roomy enough for us but unfortunately when we arrived they tried to charge me for the extra bed that was needed for my youngest child. After a bit of discussion and me showing my confirmation which showed final price payable to hotel the receptionist said she would leave it since it didn't say this on my confirmation. They also tried to charge us for a couple of white towels which housekeeping deamed to by stained. Again when I challenged this it was not enforced. The apartment was only ever stocked for 4 i.e towels, dishes, cutlery etc. The pool was Fresh water and it was never an issue getting sun beds and parasols. The indoor pool was also open and this allowed my youngest to stay out the sun and still be able to play in a pool all day. The whole place was slightly tired and could do with some maintainance but it was always kept very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful when needed. Free wifi was available in reception area but it wasn't great. There is a cafe and bar which serves food and drinks.

My partner and I stayed here from 29/12/14 - 09/01/15. Our best friends, who travelled with us had the apartment next door. On arrival we were greeted by a very polite young lady on reception and given our room numbers with a description of how to get to the rooms. We were asked to pay a refundable deposit in case of breakages, this was something we did not know about in advance, but was not a problem. The rooms were very clean, except for a problem with ants in the kitchen of one apartment. This was reported and a maintenance guy came along and identified where the ants were coming from and with the help of some ant powder the problem was sorted. The indoor pool was very clean, although the Jacuzzi did not work. The bar was clean and the bar staff were pleasant, the entertainment was mostly karaoke but we never stayed long enough to hear much of it because we were out most evenings. We ate in the restaurant once and the standard of the food was good.

Hotel very clean, very good room cleaning service, friendly and helpful staff. Pool area very clean, Jacuzzi did not work though (very disappointing!) Rooms are spacious, though was not keen on the terrace area as it was not private or secure. My Rose restaurant was reasonably good when open, the staff need to up their gain a bit if they want to compete with the many restaurants, cafes and bars nearby. Overall a good location for Bugibba and bus connections.

A bit far from airport and city centre.
It has mixed occupancy; families with young children and older couples. The facilities are good and the studio apartment was a good idea for us. The surrounding area is worth a visit with a cinema, casino, shops, bars various restaurants and in general good amenities (post office, supermarkets and ATM machines). Close to Gozo and Comino for excursions. We rented a car which is good for excursions however, not so good for getting around the city centre (I thought) hard to find parking spaces and the car parks I thought were too expensive. I did find free parking around the hotel area even though at times this looked full. The staff at the hotel were very kind and helpful and quickly resolved any issues that came about.

arrived to early for check-in but reception staff could not be more helpful baggage stowed in secure room , changed and off to the pool , Good pool area , sun loungers aplenty. On reflection the total venue is looking a little tired. The Bar and restaurant are re named and under new separate ownership , however as per older reviews the staff here can be definitely grumpy. Restaurant food OK for the price but service gets slow when busy due to few staff. Room /apartment basically furnished but adequate (we did not exactly live in it) Air Con good. most other amenities present and correct. However Bathroom was of another world standard , missing shower curtain (which was NOT installed despite reporting) which we assume had caused all the major water damage present, Damp Smell , Toilet pan and seat seen much better days. Surrounding area populated by pubs/restaurants aplenty , safe to walk around late and usually a warm welcome found a couple of real gems of restaurants within 5 mins walk. 7 mins easy walk to Buggiba Bus Station , catch the No 12 (every15 mins) to the rest of Malta Highlights approx. 50 mins to Valetta along the coast road cost only 1euro50 for a day ticket or 6euro50 for the week Best Bus service in Euro. Budget room
The hotel is located in the pleasant area of Bugibba, St. Paul's Bay, about 15 minutes to the main square of Bugibba. Our room was tidy, with a new TV set, but the double bed was two single beds put close to each other and it was not comfortable at all. The air conditioning was in a working condition, but seems a bit dated and in my opinion needed a clean due to the smell coming out of it. Sheets were tidy, bathroom was alright, but nothing special. We stay in a budget part of the hotel, so if you are looking for a budget holiday in a budget room it may be OK.
