"airport transfer - 1 night"
After an initial poor experience with the transfer from the airport, having to wait 45 mins for a journey of no more than 5 mins, the hotel exceeded our limited expectations ( having previously stayed in a transit hotel just around the corner). The staff were very willing to help, and even put on a breakfast for us way before their official time. Our beach view room was compact, but clean and tidy. The view was excellent- and even included a pod of dolphins swimming past and jumping out of the water!

"First time to Maldives"
I had a few days holiday while working in Malaysia and decided to explore the Maldives. Great place to get to know the Islands without committing to a resort for several days. The owner arranged trips to different islands each day and I was able to see what different resorts had to offer. The owner and his staff did a great job making my stay comfortable and fun. Best place to stay to get to know the islands for a few days.

"ticks all the boxes as advertised!"
reflects advertised little paradise. It was our first time in the Maldives so difficult to compare. Veligandu seems to be a very well run mid-range option. Great rooms, excellent food, friendly staff etc..

"Beautiful get-away"
Nika resort promises and delivers the ultimate get-away for couples. Rooms all either have private beach or situated on top of the water. We had a villa on the water, and the sun-rise straight into the bedroom, un-explainable beautiful.

"Fantastic food!"
I just came back from these hotel, was there for 4 days alone, and I can't wait to get back already! Stayed in beach studio # 35, was quite private, beach studios located on the side of the island where no ships or seaplanes coming, so u really enjoy clean sea and the beach, the sand is like a flour! Spa is good, water activities are good, and the Food! Omg! I couldn't believe that I had such a good food in Maldives ! Very good variety and the quality, the staff was very attentive, of cos it's a new hotel so u might experience some imperfections, but nothing could spoil my Holliday )

"Sharks Beneath our Bedroom!"
I never believe people who say that holiday destinations are 'paradise', but Cocoa Island is as close as it gets. It's expensive, thats a fact, but frankly, worth every penny. The food is superb, the decor and facilities first rate. We came here principally to dive and the resort dive shop is, in my fifteen years experience, quite simply the best. The fifteen meter boat, with crew of three plus dive instructors was as often as not host only to myself and at most during our two weeks, to three other divers. The dive sites are amongst the best I've ever seen, with the greatest drift dive ever in 'Cocoa Thila'.The resort is built on the Island itself but the rooms are located on stilts above the ocean, and we really did have baby black tip sharks swimming under our bedroom, and around our ankles at times! Turtles, Manta, Sting Rays, Eagle Rays, White, Black tip and Grey reef sharks abound. The resort houses about eighty people but we felt we were almost alone there, and there's no fighting for space or sun beds. We hardly saw anyone during the day. There's no 'night life' as such, but who needs it when the days are so long and beautiful. We skipped lunch most days, too hot, and the complimentary fruit bowl more than sufficed! Wine with dinner went from pricey to ridiculous and breakfast being the only meal included in the 'rate' one is a bit hostage to their only being one restaurant but as I said before it is exceptionally good.

"Basic hotel close to beach"
Ukulhas Inn is a standard hotel on a local island. The rooms are simple but spacious and the breakfast is delicious (try the local options). The staff are helpful in arranging trips and the ferry ride over to the island. If you want a budget trip, it's a good option. It's a very quiet island but the beach is nice and you can wear a bikini and swim. They can arrange a variety of activities and a dive shop will open on the island soon. At the moment, diving is possible but expensive as it's run from the neighbouring island. Restaurants on the island are limited, so lunches and dinners are pretty basic.

"Lovely hotel across road from Harbour"
We received a lovely warm welcome, a great relaxing holiday we were upgraded upon arrival to a lovely room with sea view. As we were on honeymoon we came back to find our room beautifully decorated for us, what a lovely romantic thing to do. The staff were excellent, nothing was any bother to them. We had evening meals at hotel a few nights, but wished we had eaten there more as the food was lovely. They should advertise outside that they do meals and hopefully get some of the passing trade. Definately stay there again.

Kaani Beach Hotel

Aabaadhee Hingun Road, Maafushi - Map

"Best hotel in Maafushi"
For people who usually stay in 2 to 3 star hotels, Kaani Beach Hotel on Maafushi is for you. It gives you the opportunity to visit different resorts every day. Staff at reception will organise that for you on daily basis. Kaani Beach Hotel uses its own speed boats at a reasonable cost. You are then required to pay an entry fee at the resort to use their facilities and it usually includes lunch. In this order, I recommend 1. Kandooma Holiday Inn, 2. Rihiveli Resort and 3. Fahilhohi Resort. By doing as I have suggested so far, as a tourist, you get it good from both worlds. Firstly, you stay on a village island at a reasonable cost for accommodation and during the day, you can enjoy a resort style facilities and only pay an entry fee which vary from place to place. For breakfast and dinner, Kaani Beach Hotel provides good local meals at a cheap price.
