"First time to Maldives"
I had a few days holiday while working in Malaysia and decided to explore the Maldives. Great place to get to know the Islands without committing to a resort for several days. The owner arranged trips to different islands each day and I was able to see what different resorts had to offer. The owner and his staff did a great job making my stay comfortable and fun. Best place to stay to get to know the islands for a few days.

"Wonderful Paradise "
We had just been one week at Veligandu Island Resort and it was a wonderful experience. From the pick-up at the Airport throughout the stay, everything was well managed from the friendly staff of Veligandu. We had the All-in-Package booked and the 3 Menues a day, the snacks between as well as all Soft- and Alcoholic-Drinks were great and included in the package. The Island is small, but offers some nice beaches, a good-sized pool and some wonderful reefs for snorkeling and diving are just in-front of the island, directly reachable from the Water-Villas. We had the Jacuzzi-Water-Villa on the West Side, which offered a nice view of the sea and the sunset. The villas have a good size and seemed to be recently renovated. Overall we had a great stay and will recommend this place to our friends.

"Babymoon bliss! Snorkeling paradise!"
I am 6 months pregnant and my husband and I enjoyed the most fantastic week here. We rented a water villa, and went with full board options (hubby went for all inclusive package). Of course dont forget everything is taxed so a beer at 5usd is taxed by the government & the hotel. I think it would be much more expensive and worrisome to do the a la carte. The food was very varied, and things like the food not being hot from the buffet might annoy some people. Honestly the service and care from all staff was fantastic, from the hostesses arranging excursions, to the Dive master Andre, to them arranging a buggy to pick us up and drop us off during the day as it is quite a walk for me in the heat. Our water villa was massive, the only downside is the AC is not powerful enough & is only in the bedroom, so we spent a lot of time lying on our bed, in the cool overlooking the sea, which really is not so bad! it encouraged us to not turn the telly on in the lounge! I think the snorkeling was exceptional, and this is important as we spent at least a few hours each day in the sea, you dont have to travel to another island to see eceptional sea life, and i have dived all over the world. Remember that getting here from male is a sea plane trip of 25 mins and around 500usd pp return, which the hotel arranges for you. If you are looking for privacy(beach villas have own beach & spa bath) & absolute perfection go to Nika.you will never forget the memories you make in this slice of heaven

"Excellent and superb experience"
First time to Maldives and we chose this resort purely based on the recommendation from Tripadvisor and other hotel websites and it didnt let us disappointed but have wonderful and unforgettable experience in Maldives. We have chosen a pool villa. The room is super big and tidy, well equipped, and with private pool and massage pool. Also, u can down straight to the ocean that you can do swimming and snorkelling immediately from your room. Life jacket is also available, or if you want to let snorkelling equipment, you can just request and voice out. Also, even in front of the ocean, there is high degree of privacy that you can enjoy both of your honeymoon without anyone disturbing. Another suprise is there is a chinese / cantonese speaking house guide to mange and help you all the stay in hotel that suprisingly we didnt speak much English on the Islands. There are mainly 4 restaurants in the Islands, each of them has its own specialty and with different pricing level, of which two of them, namely Nest and Edage are the highly recommended one, even though the prices are bit higher than the others. We recommend you should spend at least one night in each of them. We also do cycling and snorkelling, a must do activites here in this resort. Overall the experience here is excellent and superb and we have no doubt to recommend all of you to have your wonderful holidays in this resort. Finally, special thanks to our guide, Shirley, who have wholeheartedly taken care of us and

"Sharks Beneath our Bedroom!"
I never believe people who say that holiday destinations are 'paradise', but Cocoa Island is as close as it gets. It's expensive, thats a fact, but frankly, worth every penny. The food is superb, the decor and facilities first rate. We came here principally to dive and the resort dive shop is, in my fifteen years experience, quite simply the best. The fifteen meter boat, with crew of three plus dive instructors was as often as not host only to myself and at most during our two weeks, to three other divers. The dive sites are amongst the best I've ever seen, with the greatest drift dive ever in 'Cocoa Thila'.The resort is built on the Island itself but the rooms are located on stilts above the ocean, and we really did have baby black tip sharks swimming under our bedroom, and around our ankles at times! Turtles, Manta, Sting Rays, Eagle Rays, White, Black tip and Grey reef sharks abound. The resort houses about eighty people but we felt we were almost alone there, and there's no fighting for space or sun beds. We hardly saw anyone during the day. There's no 'night life' as such, but who needs it when the days are so long and beautiful. We skipped lunch most days, too hot, and the complimentary fruit bowl more than sufficed! Wine with dinner went from pricey to ridiculous and breakfast being the only meal included in the 'rate' one is a bit hostage to their only being one restaurant but as I said before it is exceptionally good.

"Basic hotel close to beach"
Ukulhas Inn is a standard hotel on a local island. The rooms are simple but spacious and the breakfast is delicious (try the local options). The staff are helpful in arranging trips and the ferry ride over to the island. If you want a budget trip, it's a good option. It's a very quiet island but the beach is nice and you can wear a bikini and swim. They can arrange a variety of activities and a dive shop will open on the island soon. At the moment, diving is possible but expensive as it's run from the neighbouring island. Restaurants on the island are limited, so lunches and dinners are pretty basic.

"Nice hotel with sea view"
Even though the hotel is simple, Ibrahim and his staff are the best. They'll look after you and offer a variety of activities to make the best of your stay. Accommodation wise, we had a small room with balcony and a sea view for quite a decent price according to Maldives standards. The sea view is on the ferry jetty side not on beach side but it is OK by me and quiet enough.
