Great hotel
Lovely hotel, great views, decor, people, bed & breakfast. My only suggestion is stock your mini bar, rather than just having water there as we were there during the pandemic with limited room service. We will return! :-)

Very private quiet location a short distance from the center of Marbella. With less than 30 rooms in an upscale golf course neighborhood, we enjoyed the serenity and excellent weather in the foothills of this magnificent part of the world. The staff was outstanding and accommodating. On a special note; Andrew at the front desk was a natural innkeeper. He treated us as guests in his home!

We enjoyed the peace and quiet, the rooms although a bit dated are very clean, good size and comfortable The staff are all helpful and friendly plus the food in the restaurant is surprisingly good

We enjoyed a lovely quiet relaxing break in this hotel, staff were lovely, pool was quiet and well kept, we could be in old centre of marbella in 6 minutes in a taxi

Golf hotel without Golf hospitality
I expected to hire clubs at the golf Hotel as part of the Golf Hotel hospitality as I was travelling with family and would have used the facilities as and when. I was quoted Hiring charges of Eur 65.00 per day when one would have expected Eur 65.00 per week! Golf Club hire is available on line from company that would deliver and collect the clubs at a reasonable rate. Unfortunately, did not realise till late.

Relaxed, tranquil, wonderful!
Probably the most relaxing holiday I've ever had. The hotel was beautiful, luxurious and modern, with all the Spanish touches one would expect. Staff were efficient, professional, and exceptionally friendly and helpful. Wonderful views over the golf course, a beach and beach bar / restaurant only 5 minutes away, and the quiet that I was looking for. I won't hesitate to return to this stylish hotel, and in particular I look forward to laying by the rooftop pool with a cold drink. Magic!

nice but not 4 star. you need.a car. course is nice but tees in poor condition. hotel lacks facilities like concierge, business centre etc. nice room but no tea or coffee. service in golf club was poor.

A little haven in Marbella
Unless you really like saying in a really busy town, then this hotel is for you. Small, but big enough to care. We are not golfers, but it looked a great course to me. Hotel is very "homely" with a real charm. The buffet breakfast was our only meal taken at the hotel, but good choices and adequate. Drinks are reasonable for this type of hotel in a very expensive resort. Only real moan would be, no free bottled water in room ( €3 for a small bottle ) and no facility to make tea or coffee in the room. No where nearby to go, so you are trapped. Would defiantly go back if in Marbella again.

Lovely hotel but might need a car
The Rio Real Hotel is a perfect escape for golfers and those looking for a peaceful break. The hotel is pretty isolated being in a residential area with nowhere to walk to so a car or a budget for taxi's is essential. The hotel pool is very small which is more for cooling down than a swim. Setting is beautiful, very peaceful and calm although the "spa" didn't seem to be open. Food excellent and costs are usual Marbella prices. Overall an excellent stay.

Quiet hotel on golf course
We stayed as a couple for 5 nights in July. Great hotel in beautiful surroundings even for non-golf players like ourselves. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Room was spotlessly clean with clean towels daily. The pool area was clean and had a bar selling drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. A car is a must for getting around as the hotel is quite remote, especially if you don't want to eat in the hotel restaurant every night. There is a buggy service that takes you to and from the beach.

Quick break to Marbs
We have been coming to Marbella for 30 years and we can't understand why we have never stayed at the Rio Real hotel previously, it was great. Reception was very efficient, room was lovely too, the view from our terrace was great and the food in the restaurant was extremely good too. What more can I say, it was all great.

comfort hotel for longer stays
This is a beautiful hotel and grounds on a golf course with very friendly staff. Everything was super clean and the bathroom was huge and very well laid out. The beds and linens were very comfortable, the best we've seen in three weeks elsewhere in Spain.. So we stayed an extra night for a relaxing break from the travels we've been on.
