It was a unique hotel with interesting history. It was the first time we had done the keypad and code check in and it worked well. We liked being close to downtown for eating and shopping and river viewing.

You must stay here!
Beautiful boutique hotel right downtown. Make sure to save your check in information as there is no one there to help you. Once you get inside it's AMAZING! The room was large and perfectly decorated.

The Chandler is a brand new hotel in the heart of historic downtown Madison, IN. It is within walking distance of everything, only a block off Main Street. What a nice surprise! While called a hotel, The Chandler acts like an Airbnb. There is no staff and you are given a unique code to enter the building and your room. The building has clearly been lovingly and beautifully renovated to suit its new purpose. The rooms are all on the second floor, so beware if stairs are an issue. But it is definitely worth the hike up a few steps. Each room is unique with different design elements, all very lovely. There are vaulted ceilings, exposed brick and wood floors, giving it an "old world" factor, but brand new modern appointments for the trendy feel. There's an outdoor space with comfy furniture to lounge on and a cooler of beverages for sale for your convenience. One minor suggestion I have would be to incorporate some kind of snack vending since there is no nearby convenience store, but there were a couple of sweet treats (from the local chocolate store, I would imagine) to greet our entry. We also appreciated the fresh flowers -- lovely touches to make you feel welcome. All the elements of comfort and convenience were also included - little fridge, plenty of outlets, complimentary toiletries, good towels, etc. We were happy to be able to sign in to YouTube and Netflix on the TV as well. Lastly, the hotel owners are terrific - we had a little snafu with Expedia during
