It was horrible. Nothing was as advertised. Unclean, an uncaring staff. The windows didn't lock. the room was up 3 flights of stairs so dark you couldn't see during the day. And they kept turning the lights off. no breakfast unless you get up at 5 am

Nothing was as advertised. No shuttle. No breakfast most days. Windows didn’t lock. No cleaning. Bathroom stunk. 3 flights of stairs to our room. 4 flights to dining room. No help with bags. About a half mile uphill walk. Everything on Expedia was a lie.

Two night stay while we were getting ready to see Machu Picchu and then coming back from there. COmfoy and easy walk from the train station and then to the bus stop for the ride to Machu Picchu. It is very damp in the jungle, so it was difficult to dry our clothes and towels in the bathrooms, the breakfast was ok only. But this hotel served it's purpose certainly and they responded when we needed something and tried to help us fix any problems we had. I would recommend this hotel.

Help Yourself Atmosphere
This property was clean and had a "help yourself" kind of atmosphere. Staff was friendly but did not speak much English and we did not speak much Spanish. It was a different place but the price was right and you get what you pay for.

Noisy, noisy, noisy!
This is an inexpensive option among several in Machu Picchu. However, the nicely tiled hallways and stairs are perfect for reflecting noise all over the place. Plus, checkout is at 9:00, and the hardworking staff gets going at about 4:15, turning on hall lights, which shine right into the rooms. If you need a very early wake-up, this your spot. The staff is very good.

No airport shuttle
There's no airport shuttle as stated on Expedia. When I called immediately after to plan with the hotel and they advised me there is no airport shuttle, I advised I will have to cancel. They said to give them a few hours to talk to Expedia and confirm site states there is an airport shuttle and that they will refund me. Then they refuse to pick up calls or respond to my emails,m. I even provided them screen shots of the site stating they had an airport shuttle. They declined my refund and made up to Expedia that I waited a prolonged period of time for a refund and kept my money. Shady people

The Bathroom is Horrible
The room is ok but what really dissapointed me to was that the bathroom is horrible, old, a lot of humidity and the worst thing is that the shower don't have curtain and all the water goes out and fill all the bathroom with water. I will never recommend this hotel.

Terrible hotel.
Terrible hotel. No insulation. You can hear everything that is happening in other rooms, people talking, showering, using the toilet. Booked a room with a double bed and ended up in a room with 2 single beds.

Very cute hotel and very clean.
This Hotel reflects the local people very much. It is a ways away from the train station and a considerable walk up. However the rooms are well-maintained and the people are very accommodating. My only problem is there's no heat in these rooms so you have to get a space heater from the front desk and also there's a bit of humidity in the rooms that improves after the rainy season. It is a short walk from the thermal pool. Overall a very simple place for a great price. Limited English speaking TV and the hotel staff speaks Spanish only.

Good place to stay for a night or two in order to see Machu Picchu. Nothing stands out about the hotel but it was a comfortable, quiet and clean place to stay with hot water. It was pretty hard to find using our map app (maps.me and google maps). We had to wander around a little to find it. Breakfast was delicious and available super early for those going to see the ruins. Coco leaf tea was available (free) 24/7. Wifi was terrible.

Hotel that meets the basic needs
The hotel is located very far from the machu pichu bus and train stations. I would also start by calling this more of a hostel than a hotel. There isn't much help around and the rooms have windows peering directly into the stairwell. However the biggest flaw about this hotel is its bathrooms. The shower drain doesn't work well and the water seeps into the bathroom constantly making the bathroom and the rest of the room wet at Amy point. Additionally would not recommend this place to anyone who has allergies. One of us is sensitive to dust mites and came down with horrible allergies after staying at Marco wasi. Ultimately I would rate the place as manageable but if you find another place for the same price would highly recommend you go there instead of Marco wasi.

Decent option in Aguas Calientes
The room was fine in general, and probably pretty good for Aquas Calientes. The lower floors seem to be hostel-style rooms, while the top floors have hotel style rooms with private bath. If this hotel was in a city, I would've been disappointed with the small bathroom and outdated furnishings. But considering it's in the cool little town of Aguas Calientes, I'd say it's a good option. Also, the hotel is a bit off the main road, which took me a few laps to find. You have to go down one of the alleys and then up some stairs to get to Marco Was.

Dark, damp, and drab, barely good for 1 night
If you just need a place to crash for a few hours, then this hotel is probably OK. If you're staying longer than that, then you should go elsewhere. The place is damp, dark, and drab. It was so damp our passports were all curled up after less than one day! They regained their normal shape once we were gone. This place is truly unwelcoming. I want to clarify that I'm not referring to the staff, but to the place itself. The staff was actually quite friendly, helpful and engaging. Too bad they have to work here.

Decent room
Had a nice view across the town, if you can call the town "nice". Steep walk to the hotel since it's at the far top of the town, and then was another bunch of stairs to the 5th floor. But the room was decent, nothing against the hotel except inconvenient location of the room.

I booked two nights for this hotel and paid in full in advance! However, while I was in Cusco, all the rails were not operating due to strike, therefore no one could get up to the Macchu Picchu! Hotel owner knew that the problem but didn't issue any refund clearly knowing that It was not my fault at all!! Bad business practice! I lost two nights up there due to the strike they had!

slippery bathroom even though it looked cleaned
The bathroom was so slippery that i just stood on one location after i started showering. I was afraid that i moved, i would slip on the floor and hurt myself. It was a terrible experience. Also, the sleeping bed was uncomfortable. My wife and i couldnt sleep properly whole night . The room size was very small too. Overall, it was a bad experience.

nice hostel close to everything
Note it is a hostel not a hotel which was not clear in the Expedia Ad until you read the finer details although we should have known based on price. Clean simple rooms and very friendly staff. We requested someone meet us as the train station and they responded quickly to my email and were there waiting with a sign with our names on it. It would have been difficult to find on our own. We were happy with our room as it had a window that opened to outside BUT there are several rooms where the windows open up to the hallway/stairway- we would not have been happy with that.

good choice for MachuPicchu overnight
We spent one night here, arriving at 9pm and leaving at 5 am to catch the bus to Machupicchu. They provided a nice breakfast buffet at 4:30 am (scrambled eggs, meat, cheese, tea, coffee, bananas). Shampoo & soap are provided, and there was plenty of hot water (we had to wait for it - and it's out of the RH faucet, not the left!). We also requested someone meet us at the train station, and I was glad we had. I'm not sure we could have found the tucked away location on our own! Our guide also took us to the ticket office to buy our tickets for the next day - we made it just before they closed at 9pm. Our only caution - the windows in the hotel face inward (towards the interior/courtyard of the building), and we didn't realize they were open. We left our room for breakfast and left our gear (passports etc.) in the room! Someone could easily have gotten in. Luckily, that didn't happen. The staff did not speak English, but that really didn't make any difference to our check in procedure.

I try to love it , but it fail completely
I booked 2 rooms and stayed with my family . I read the reviews and tried to give this hotel a shoot but it was a big FAIL . After a long day at Machu Picchu I head it back To check in to the hotel it rain very hard that afternoon and me and my family were very wet and tired . My Guide from Machu Picchu had to showed me were the hotel was located because it's very tuck away from all other hotels , there were no signs at all anywhere of this hotel and you have to go trough some ally's to get to it .( very bad location) when we got there the girl at the front desk was very rude .. The first thing she said was , you can not leave any luggage for store here. I was what?? Who ask you ? I think this was very rude . They need more training for the staff or change it . Wifi was bad. I ask the same girl if she had a recommendation on a good restaurant , she replay with ,I don't have directory and she does not know . Ok, going on , the bed smell like mildew . We stayed in the 3rd floor and it was very noise from people talking and walking up stairs and down stairs , we could also here people talking in the bathrooms . The breakfast in the morning was good . I wouldn't have mind the bad smell on the beds , the noise , the bad wifi, the bad location , but what made it worse was the terrible staff! Very Rudy and unfriendly . I would not recommend this hotel at all .I stayed there on August 17 .

Damp and smelled bad.
We were not comfortable in the room. There is no ventilation system. In the day it was hot and sticky, at night cold and damp. The wall next to the hallway is a large window that if you left open anyone could stick there hand inside and touch you in bed. The only other window was between ours and the neighbors bathroom. We closed that one as well. All night if anyone went in the hallway the bright light shown through the thin curtain covering the glass wall, and everytime the room next to ours flipped on their bathroom light ours lit up as well. The location is quite a trek from the train station and all uphill. They meet you at the station so that you can follow them to the hotel, but you have to carry your bags. Also our room was just above the reception desk and so everytime the phone rang we heard it. With no outside windows my daughters called it the dungeon. We overslept the breakfast because we thought it was still nighttime.

Instead of windows, we get two vertical shafts
Our room had two vertical shafts running through and open not only to our room, but others above and below. That means we heard other people snore, flush toilets, pee (you name it) as though it were in our room. We had no windows. The floors were sticky and we wore shoes while in the room. The only saving grace was that the people there were helpful and friendly, but that's not enough for this place.

Lovely quaint hotel high above town with views
Stayed two nights, enjoyed all my interactions with Marco, the owner. Love the place; on a quiet street high above town, with soaring views if you get a window room on an upper floor. Marco is a wonderful help in everything from restaurant recommendations to transportation issues, and speaks fairly good English to boot if needed. Breakfast was typical of such sized hotels, with a spread of cold and hot fare, some of which can be pocketed for lunch.

nice new clean hotel in a dump town
Itsa good hotel by peruean standards, especially compared to the average dump in ramshacle Agua Calientes. Good hot shower and decent breakfast. Big flat screen TV, but only a couple of english channels like everywhere in Peru. Major problem with reservation. Booked confirmed and paid for, but when I arrived ifound out it was full. They found me somewhere else for the first night then let me stay the next night instead of the one I booked, lucky I one booked one night. Gave me a free upgrade on roon also. Im not sure if the reservation problem is the hotel or expedia. Realatively quite location and not far to walk to the bus and train etc. Overall a very good place providing the booking works.
