Quiet location overlooking the river. Good size room with super comfortable beds. Hot water a bit unreliable and central atrium carries noise up to all rooms - we could hear a baby crying 4 floors below. Breakfast was poor

Beautiful property right on the river. We had an amazing view of the river. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was modern and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful with all our questions.

We had an incredible stay at Hotel Tara and the staff were so helpful. The room overlooking the river was just wonderful and we would go back in a second. Didn't get to have breakfast but we were made breakfast packs for our early departure for Machu Picchu.

Exceptional stay for one night. The staff was very accommodating and gave excellent service. This is a great option to choose for your stay in Machu Picchu pueblo.

Good experience and would recommend. Good value for a big bedroom. The hotel picked me up at the train station on time, so that was great. Room itself was clean and the staff was friendly. Location is not too far from the train station, about a 7 minute walk.

Machu Picchu Trip Sept 2023
Comfortable and clean room. Thank you for providing the heater. Breakfast buffet was good but was in a neighboring hotel which was not really a problem. Only one attendant that was running back and forth between two hotels. Bathroom sink had only cold water faucet and there were mosquetos in the bathroom. I likeed the location of the hotel and will definitely recommend it to other travelers.

Up the hill, very essy to find. Near the trsin station. Lots of restaurants and shops. Super clean and friendly staff. They work closely with the tour companies. We even got our backpacks delivered directly to the train station after our day visiting Machu Picchu!

Downtrodden and has no internet - keep away
Hotel has non existent internet access and breakfast requires a walk to a neighbourhood hotel. Also a long, arduous walk across a dirly street to reach it. Hotel itself is threadbear to the point of downtrodden..small rooms and very noisy. What really irks me is that the hotels internet was so poor I couldn't check even check email..they promised to fix it and made me move to multiple rooms every day. I spend most of my time in the lobby of the Terra Viva, a much nicer hotel. FInally with no internet, I decided to cut short my reservation the Terra Visa 2 days into my 6 day trip.

Great stay before Machu Picchu
We experienced a great stay for the short time we spent in Aguas Calientes. Pick up at the train station was provided. The front desk gave us very valuable advice on our next day trip to Machu Picchu. And we could store our language at the hotel and it was offered to bring it to the train station upon return. The room was very clean and the beds so nicely decorated. Also they have the biggest oversized King bed we have ever experienced. I surely would choose them again.

There was no toilet paper in the room upon getting to our room and surfaces in bathroom were wet. The WiFi never worked and the staff were unwilling to re-set it (usually a matter of unplugging then plugging back in) saying they did not know how. On the other hand the staff tried to be helpful and arranged an excellent guide for us for Machu Picchu. The breakfast was good and the view from the room was beautiful. There are no heating/cooling controls or vents in the room. The staff told me there is no air conditioning but that there is heat though not clear how that works as there were no vents. The room was a bit cold but not too bad.

Don’t do it if you have a better choice
I really want to like this place because a lot of people said nice thing about it. For all the staff, they did a phenomenal job. Very professional and friendly. I would hire them as my employees. All of them have the right attitude. I would give them a score of 11/10. The facility or the hotel itself, however, needs a lot of upgrade for me to return there if ever again. I would give a minus score if I could. The toilet was leaking, room was cold ( no temp control in the room), and no hot water!!! Soundproof was terrible too. You could hear everything in your room from the lobby, whether you are on the first floor or the the top floor.

I am not sure how they heat the water, but I ran out of hot water both times I tried to shower. Only had enough hot water to get your hair wet.

The hotel was convenient and the staff were very friendly. Facilities were clean and they met us at the train station. It would have gotten 5 stars if not for the room we were given. Per Expedia description we were to get a room on the upper floor. When we arrived they said we were on the 5th floor but were given a room on the second floor with window of the room right opposite of a transformer (they didn't give us the room keys but a staff took our luggage and let us in the room; if they had given the keys we would have immediately known the room wasn't on the 5th floor). We did ask why the room was switched but was not provided an answer and we let it go. The room also did not have bath soap and shampoo (they provided those after we told them) and the toilet wouldn't flush (they fixed it immediately after we told them). We spent 2 nights there.

Great service
Sophia came to station to pick us up. Service was very tentative and cheerful. Breakfast was very quite good. Room is clean and bed is combination of two full size beds, very comfortable. Bedsheet is new. Won’t give a 10 cus shower water turned from hot to cold right in the middle.

It was a new hotel with very clean rooms and bathrooms. Location was great since hotel is next to the smaller river which isn't as loud as the main river during the rainy season.
