Dear Anonymous We are sorry that you felt disappointed by your stay here with us. We strive to ensure that we deliver quality service so that all our guests feel comfortable and relaxed during their stay. Your review score seems unfair as you seem to have based it on room size alone. Our room pricing compares favorably to other B&Bs in this area. We also endeavour to deliver a high quality service and experience with regard to hygiene standards, service delivery as well as other facilities such as free level access parking , guest lounge etc to ensure our guests have a safe and comfortable stay with us in the exceptionally challenging and uncertain times that we face. I just wanted to correct a couple of issues that you raised. You booked the Superior room so this was not an upgraded room but a standard booking. The description, size and pictures of the room and facilities are clearly indicated on Expedia as well as our own website which we keep updated. We recognise that everyone’s expectations and definitions of ‘Superior’ may vary, but as it is a comparative word used to differentiate between our standard double and those larger Superior rooms which have king size beds and other features. The room you booked had a king size bed with ensuite, the bed has a deluxe memory foam mattress, two chairs as well as other standard facilities you would expect. In addition, we offer fresh milk for your room, as well as quality 100% cotton bed linen and towels including bath sheets. The price you quote included breakfast which Melanie prides herself in, offering a wide selection of freshly prepared bespoke hot and cold breakfasts made with quality local ingredients and many home-made items for which other guest have given positive compliments. We will consider your feedback and make any changes we feel necessary, however we feel that you have rated us harshly with respect to your comments around stripping the bed. It is clear that you did not understand our reason for asking this of guests. If you had taken a moment to read either the information in the room or our website , you would have seen that he reason we asked you to bag up your dirty towels and strip the bed, was as measure to reduce the risk of Covid 19 spread . This is a recommended action we have taken to manage the laundry risks of the airborne virus which we have implemented as part of our housekeeping procedures. This action was taken from the guidance shared by industry leaders such as UK Hospitality and the Government guidance for the hospitality industry and the vast majority of our guests have supported us with this. We are sorry if you were uncomfortable with this action, but these are exceptional times and safety is now one of our priorities along with comfort of our guests. We devised a substantial Covid 19 risk assessment in addition to our general health and safety measures and implemented several actions and measures to keep both ourselves and our guests safe. We a

We were sorry that you were unhappy with the room not being on the ground floor, something we did explain to the Expedia agent prior to you booking to stay with us. We thought that reducing your stay to just 1 night rather than 4 with no cancellation costs and helping you source another B&B locally would ensure a positive experience for you both in Lynton and Lynmouth.
