Cosy cottage in a lovely location
Homestead was clean tidy and comfortable, and was well equipped with everything you need for a self catering holiday. Definitely recommend. A very short walk into Lyme Regis with all its independent shops, cafes etc. The Town Mill and Lyme Regis Museum are well worth visiting. One thing to note, the parking at Homestead is tight as is mentioned in the description so take care.

Perfect Seaside Cabin
Sheenas cabin was a perfect beach side cabin. It was lovely to walk along the river to reach the beach and township. The cabin itself was absolutely spotless and even roomier than the photos showed. We loved being able to eat out or cook up our own meals in the kitchen which had everything we needed. We had a fantastic stay here as it was close to everything - no car was needed!

September Mini Break
A nice, clean and thoughtfully furnished riverfront cabin, providing all we needed for a three night mini break after months of lock down. In a very hilly and steep Lyme Regis the cabin location is perfect as you can walk to town in 10-15 minutes along the river which is reasonably flat compared to much of the town. We appreciated having a dishwasher and although not cold enough to use in September, the wood burner looked very inviting. We did struggle to open the outside key box so perhaps some further instruction would have been helpful. We arrived to find milk and a chocolate bar in the refrigerator and ice in the freezer which was a lovely added touch. I would certainly recommend staying at this property when visiting Lyme Regis.

Staying in Lyme Regis. It is a lovely town with lots of good quality places to eat, and gift shops.
The property is very comfortable and ideally placed for accessing the town. It is the cleanest holiday home we have ever stayed in - my wife did not feel compelled to wash all the dishes and cutlery as soon as we arrived as is usually the case! A couple of suggestions: we struggled with getting the key safe open. Instructions in the 'About your property' information would have been helpful. Also, we had to phone Sheena to find out how to get the central heating to work. Instructions in the property would have avoided this. Also, it would have been nice to have been able to open the sliding door in the conservatory, but I couldn't find a key. All minor points, but the feedback may be helpful.

Perfect again
Our second time at Homestead and it was fantastic again. The location is perfect, 10 minutes walk from the seafront via a riverside walk. The cottage is warm, well equipped and suited a family of four. It's an incredibly quiet location, you can hear the water from the river at night. Sheena the owner is extremely helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Thoroughly recommended in all respects.

Smartly decorated and superbly equipped cottage in lovely quiet convenient location
Nice, bright, clean cottage with plenty of space for our family of four. We had everything we needed and were very content and comfortable. A real home from home. The location was excellent - on a quiet lane next to the little river - with a leisurely level walk into town and to the beaches and a lovely walk the other way upstream into the countryside. The children appreciated the brilliant play park only a five-minute walk away too. All communications with owner and housekeeper were great. Lyme Regis is a fabulous place to spend a fun and relaxing couple of weeks. Varied beaches (though the sandy beach was packed!) for fossil hunting, rock-pooling and wave-chasing; lots of great places to eat (yummy ice creams) and things to do (eg, mini-golf, museums, the mill, shopping, walking, amusement arcade). We were sad to come home, but happy that we'd had such a great holiday!

Beautifully presented property in a lovely location
Lovely property, beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. The parking access was a little difficult but then parking in Lyme is not easy anyway. The location was lovely with the river Lym running in front of the property and only a short walk to the beach and amenities. There was also a lovely riverside walk up to Uplyme. We enjoyed a relaxing week and spent time sitting in the conservatory watching the world go by. Thanks Sheena.

Fantastic, clean & well located property
Amazing house; well furnished; clean & tidy. Everything thought about! Lovely little bolt-hole, close to the centre of Lyme! Parking challenging.....but easy to leave the car for a week & potter! A real break from the Hurley-burley of every day life! The kids loved it too! Thanks Sheena & Fiona. We will be back! Xxx

Very good.
This property is just as described, very clean and tidy, it is a lovely cottage in a lovely location. If you want peace and quiet this is the place for you. Every thing that you need is there. Lovely walk down by the river into the town, and if you can get past the Mill Bakery without sampling their cakes, pastries, bread, or breakfast, your a better man than I am. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this property to anyone.

A really good find!
So glad I happened across this little place for our holiday. It was perfect for the 3 of us. A cute, clean and bright cabin with all the essentials you need for a week's self catering and more! The supply of kitchen roll, cling film, foil, tea bags, dishwashers tablets etc (and ice in the freezer!) was unexpected and so helpful to have on arrival and through the week. Just a short, pretty walk to the town centre along the river. Our only niggle was that the sofa wasn't very comfy for those wet nights in, I appreciate it's an extra sofabed but for a husband with a bad back it was hard for him to get comfy!! We really enjoyed two visits to LBK for excellent burgers and the Penny Black cafe (down the side of the Post Office around the back of an antiques centre)for lunch & cake. So much to see and do in Dorset and Somerset, this is a great base. Although Wi-Fi would be handy for looking up places to go there is a good supply of local literature plus books & games at the house. It was so nicely decorated, felt so homely and a little retro. Would recommend!

Great location, family friendly property
Beautiful accomodation everything a family needs. Great location less than 10 minute walk to the beach even for a 4 year olds tired legs. Plenty to do in Lyme Regis and plenty of other options such as theme parks, zoos etc less than an hours drive away. We spent a week here, but could have happily spent longer, will definatley book again.

A fantastic hidden gem; perfect!
The property is hidden away next to the River Lym in a quiet spot just 5 minutes walk from the shops and cafes of Lyme Regis. It has been sympathetically restored in seaside hues and gave our family of four the perfect base for out holiday. The facilities were excellent, and it was a real help having a washer dryer available after a day on the beach. The car parking is tight, and anyone with a longer vehicle is going to struggle, but this should not detract from the charm of this property. It was also very quiet in the evening, so a perfect place to relax. we couldn't fault it.

Thank you Marcus, I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay so much and the look of Homestead. My girls and I had a great time putting it all together and what is so nice is that our guests have really looked after it. I always admit the parking is tricky, as it is in most of Lyme, but once you are parked up the joy is to leave the car behind!

The conservatory was the most-used space.
The key feature of this cottage was the conservatory which was light and airy - not to say that the rest of the property was questionable, quite the opposite, but without the conservatory we would have felt a lot differently. Nicely decorated, good beds, kitchen and bathroom facilities. The only area for improvement would be a 'quick start' guide for all the major appliances rather than having to ferret through the folder containing all their manuals but that would be the only gripe. The location was also very good, near enough to the sea front while far enough away not to be bothered when Lyme was busy.

Delightful
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Homestead and found the property charming, well equipment and spotlessly clean. It was well positioned being able to walk into Lyme Regis along the riverside which was a lovely walk. Parking was a tight squeeze but we managed eventually. Lyme Regis is nicely situated for the Jurassic coast which is a wonderful coastline to explore, expecially walking up to Golden Cap, the views are tremendous and the lovely pub at Seatown. We would definitely recommend to friends Heather and Mike
