Ideal Location

Posted 29-Jul-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Checkin area is not very big with 2 small desks, can be confusing where to stand to get noticed.
A good quality hotel located ideally for Covent Garden, Piccadilly, Westminster etc, closest tube station to hotel only 5 mins walk. Great for a weekend stay.

Excellent on all counts!

Posted 27-Jul-2014
Pros: Service, lobby and restaurant
Cons: Toilet had difficulty flushing ( room 302 )
Location: Centrally located next to Trafalgar Square
Exceptional front desk staff and equally exceptional restaurant staff. Fantastic lobby decor and outstanding restaurant service. Room was very comfortable though I had an interior view.

Wonderful staff, lovely hotel

Posted 22-Jul-2014
Pros: The staff and the location. In particular, Susana. She was the epitome of customer service excellence.
Cons: Nothing at all.
Location: Perfect location for travellers and business. Walking distance to many London location highlights, pubs and the tube.
Such a great hotel that is perfect for my work trips to the UK. The staff are endlessly helpful, the rooms are a fantastic size, internet access is excellent and the location is one of the best in London.

Sullen staff and mis-advertised room

Posted 21-Jul-2014
The room was tiny (compared with the preview on the website), the staff were miserable, we were kept awake for most of the night with air conditioning from the next room - but we had a lovely view of some pipes and a security camera. I've stayed in better travel lodges for a quarter of the price.

GREAT LOCATION!!

Posted 20-Jul-2014
Pros: LOCATION, CLEAN, Air conditioning.
Location: Trafalagar Square, Buckingham Palace, London Eye, National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery. Excellent Location!!
The location of this hotel is fantastic. Very close to the Tube, buses, and walking distance from great sights!! My only complaint would be the room size. Our room was very small. We had a double bed and a sofa pull out. Pretty tight for 3 adults and suitcases. The pull out sofa was not so comfortable - the regular bed was comfortable. It was very clean. When we needed a ironing board and iron, the service was very quick. I loved the water dispenser in the hallway with plastic water bottles and distilled water to fill them with. It was really handy and we saved some money in purchasing water. Overall, it was a nice stay.

Great location but that is what you are paying for

Aside from being well located, The Grand is tired, rooms are small and bed not particularly comfortable. Very expensive for what you get.

Great Location

Posted 15-Jul-2014
Pros: It's location.
Cons: The breakfast! Poor choice and expensive for what you got.
Location: The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to Covent Garden/Leicester Square so is ideal for Theatreland & Houses of Parliament/London eye too.
My husband and I stayed here for the weekend in July 2014 and it was our second visit to the hotel. It's location is excellent and the hotel and the room were very clean and the staff friendly. This would be our first choice of hotel whenever we visit London.

Great little hotel on Trafalgar

Posted 14-Jul-2014
Pros: Clean and quiet- great water pressure for the shower. Comfortable and close to all public transportation.
Cons: An extra blanket for the night time would have been nice but all in all it was great.
Location: Theater, theater, theater! Hop on and off buses. Museums and music at St. Martins in the Fields church a block away. Good food with many choices.
Great little hotel on Trafalgar square. Charing Cross station on the corner- Leiciter square for half price theater tickets one block up. Buses within a block. Good walking and great public transportation made it the best. It was so convenient to everything that it made our stay eas7y. We will definitely stay here next time.

Great location, great value for the money

Posted 13-Jul-2014
I chose this hotel bases purely on the pricepoint and location from Expedia, and I got really lucky. The location was right near Trafalger Square, which means easy walking to the National Gallery, Thames, the Tate Modern, the City, Buckingham Palace, Westminster, Covent Garden (good food area, plus there's always a Pret on the corner), etc. and Tube stations. Very easy to cab it to or from this location. . The street is tree-lined though and quiet--our window looking into a tree and didn't have much view, which was fine by us. Check in was a piece of cake, hotel is small but not too small and is blissfully quiet. There is a very attractive lobby with a bar and restaurant. Didn't eat there, but had a drink and it was fun. The room was spacious, especially for Europe. Comfy bed, big desk, tv, chair, wardrobe, beautiful windows and tons of light. The building was obviously an old one--you could see the gorgeous molding on the high ceilings, and the bathroom was an afterthought since the room was from a time before bathrooms right in a room--it had plenty of room and was quite nice, but ceiling was about 4 feet lower than the room's ceiling, so it was clearly installed later. This isn't a negative, it actually pretty charming and cool. The hotel also has plastic bottles and a water cooler in the hall which is money-saving. Perfect location, size, amenities and price for our mother-daughter five day London trip. Great, quiet hub to see all the sights from.

We have just spent the weekend in London.

Posted 08-Jul-2014
Pros: Loved the fresh water fountain and to be able to to have the use of an ice bucket and ice without going down to the bar, great!
Location: lot's to do near by.place right in Trafalgar square makes it easy to get around without even using the tube.covent garden is just around the corner.
this hotel is in a great position, walking distance of all the main attractions, ideal! We arrived at the hotel early and asked to book in,no problems! I would have preferred bathroom with bath BUT I hadn't made a request,i had I done so I'm sure it would have been fine. This hotel was nice and quiet,we never heard a soul! Yes,i would book here again.
