Not worth the money
The check in was easy. There were not enough bathrooms for the number of people staying, I had to wait for a long time to use the bathroom and when in there, the floor was flooded, and sink wasn’t fit for purpose (didn’t rinse toothpaste away, couldn’t rinse mouth). The guests in the room were noisy including one drying her hair at 10.30pm, and another having an alarm go off at 5.30am for half an hour until someone asked her to turn it off. The room was noisy and bright from the street.

I ended up deciding to leave my second night because I didn’t get ANY sleep the night prior and was super jet lagged. Pros- I like the location, the proximity to Victoria station and attractions is good. I was able to walk everywhere. The hostel was clean and the staff were excellent. It seems the Hostel had recently been redone so the bathrooms and bedrooms were very nice for such an old building. The beer and pizza were also really great. Cons - I just had a hard time with the comfort of the accommodations. There were nine people in my room and two snorers (no fault to the hostel). The doors were very loud (opening/closing) and the walls thin (you could constantly hear the hand dryers in the bathroom). The bed/pillow wasn’t very comfortable (very firm) and the room was very hot. So, overall, if you are a light sleeper who needs a soft bed this won’t be for you. But, if you like staying in hostels this one was very nice.

The staff was friendly and available at all hours. The beds were comfy with easy to find outlets for charging. The restrooms were private and spacious. And it was within walking distance of everything I wanted to see.

Bathrooms in need of update/repairs. No kitchen, so either you eat there, which is not cheap, you don't eat or you find something while walking about.

We appreciate your feedback, and really sorry that you didn't had the best experience. We took in consideration everything you mention. About the kitchen, We don't have kitchen for hostel guest, but everyone is free to by their food and eat on the bar.

Location was brilliant as I was going to a gig at Cadogan Hall in Slone Square. However showers all had black mould on them, toilets were dirty and one of the two sinks was leaking. Room floor squeaked every time anyone moved - not great for 24 sharing. Bed was ok. No where to store anything near the bed and limited access to plugs. Breakfast was cereal and milk - no good for me as lactose intolerant.

Thanks for staying with us, we appreciate your review. We took everything that you mention, and we have been improve the showers and sinks. Every hostel guest has a big storage room available to use at all time of staying with us, and lookers in the room. For our breakfast, we provide bread, butter, cereals, milk, coffee and tea. We are sorry that you are lactose intolerant, and you couldn't have much of our breakfast, but our breakfast is services that we provide for free for hostel guests.

Nice and convenient for a quick stat.
Convenient to Victoria Station and a quick tube ride to anything. Beds were comfortable and clean. Bathroom/showers left something to be desired. It was perfect for a hot meal and a good sleep during my travels. I will definitely stay again.

Limited bathrooms and showers.. pretty old place (toilets were VERY difficult to flush). Rooms are super cramped. Nice that there is a pub downstairs. Breakfast was very limited.. just white toast, butter, some jam, and some cereal. About a 15 minute walk to victoria station, but other than that, not much in the area. 5 pounds/towel.. pretty steep :/ People who worked there were nice though

You can do better.
The hostel is right above a pub. While noise was not a problem for me (I was staying on the 2nd floor), I did hear others complaining. The toilet on my floor failed to flush for the entirety of my stay (5 days) and the hot water was out for most of my time there. The staff was friendly enough and attentive when I had questions. The room could have been cleaner. (There were many dust bunnies under the bottom bunk I occurred as well as paper and other small bits of trash.) The shower died while in used. It's located about 14 mins walk from Victoria station which is a plus, especially when buses are running. The rooms are tiny though. I had a room for 9 people that consisted of 3 bunk beds and little floor space. Only one outlet for the entire room. Some of the wooden slats kept coming out of place on so this made sleeping an interesting test in balance for some of the bunkers. If you need a cheap place to crash for a night or two and expect to be out a lot, it could work for you.

Guy at check in was unhelpful and quite rude tbh. The place was quite shabby and untidy. But the guy at check in really ruined my stay. Very unfriendly and rude.

Absolutely convenient :near Victoria Coach station
It's about less than 10 minutes walk near victoria coach station, so anyone having to catch it early morning should have a look. However, the dorm was poorly heated, corridors outside were warmer. Staff was helpful to let me take a breakfast early morning, but he forgot to ask me if i checked-out. Guest dont need to make the bed and dont need to remove covers. No kitchen for guest, but the hostel have a bar and homemade burgers.

The stay and price was very good. I think with a tiny more investment this hostel would be fab. The investment could be in the breakfast. There was only one toaster (6slots) so if you have 75 beds maybe a get extra toaster.

Had small rooms with 15 beds, hard to fall asleep. The toilet paper would sometimes be impossible to get out of those "smartone" boxes. The breakfast was limited, the staff is ok, sometimes there was attitudes.

Worst hostel I've stayed at so far
I've stayed in at least a dozen hostels so far and this was the worst, definitely. Felt like everything was broken here, from the wi-fi, to the bathrooms. The beds are very squeaky as well. The whole place was very grimy and old looking. Avoid.

My brilliant stay at the White Ferry hostel in Vic
I always love coming to stay at this hostel in Victoria. Its a brilliant ideal location for me what with usually arriving by megabus/national express into the coach station. Its such a lovely area and easy to get to the hostel from there too so love staying plus all the shops nearby and buses too with plenty of places to eat at and even a library near too which is very handy for me!! Have booked to stay again in just over a week and cant wait :)

I booked a mixed dorm for 9 - room 2 was adequate, with enough power points and lockers..if not a bit cramped with all the suitcases! There are showers a floor below - however, one hasn't had the light fixed since my last stay several months ago, so you still need to shower in the dark!!! Hot water is plentiful, though...The staff were very friendly and accommodating...Breakfast is a continental one with cereal and toast, coffee, tea and orange juice - there is just one toaster for ALL guests,though, so there can be a queue and I didn't have time to wait one morning...Thank you to James the barman and the Andreas for their help!
