Lovely hotel in a great location

Posted 25-Nov-2014
Beautiful rooms that were spotless. There was a problem checking in the weekend we were there as it was unusually busy but the staff were extremely cheerful, courteous and helpful. Maybe the management need to consider extra housekeeping staff at the weekend. Despite the problem our rooms were still immaculate. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Enjoyable stay

I stayed here for a conference at the ACC Liverpool, so the location couldn’t be any better – right opposite the venue. Despite that, in my room on the 4th floor I didn’t hear any outside noise during the nights. The studio apartment was well laid out and equipped. The kitchen had a microwave, a hob, a dishwasher, and a fridge. It also had plates, glasses and cutlery, as well as a large food tray which made eating in front of the TV easy – a great thought. The bed was comfortable, and the aircon kept the room at a good temperature for sleeping. The bathroom didn’t have a bath, but the shower was large, warm, and powerful. The towels are huge and fluffy – which is always nice. There was a sofa with a leg rest, and a large TV with a reasonable number of Freeview channels. Pay movies were also available for a reasonable £3.99, and high speed Wifi was available (as an IHG member I get this free of charge, so not sure it that is standard). The staff were welcoming, and made it clear that I could order a takeaway and they would call me when it was delivered – which they did. There is also a small shop on-site which sells drinks, snacks, and some food items. Overall, a great stay and I would recommend to anyone staying in this area.

Good hotel quiet location

Pros: Handy for all atractions and shopping.
Cons: The breakfast area could be better managed. We had to ask for table to be cleared and cleaned on 3 occasions. Also breakfast food needs to be re filled.
Location: Location good all atractions within walking distance.
Had great stay. But no hot water on 3rd night. Was very upsetting as we had arranged to go out to dinner.

short break

Posted 14-Oct-2014 on Hotels.com
Hotel was fairly good but expected the suite to be larger in view of the premium price. The hotel is about 20 mins from lime st so a bit misleading re distance. Good quality furnishings and great bed. Suite was let down by the following;- poor complimentary beverages, no under curtains/blinds which make you very overlooked when curtains open, large gap under the door lets in light and noise from busy corridors, poor noise insulation etc. Breakfast was a bit shambolic as there was no hot food whatsoever in that food area! Had to ask staff if any food was coming out. The coffee machine kept running out of milk etc. The toasters took nearly 5 minutes to toast the 'cheap' sliced bread. Orange juice had to be decanted from a carton. I found the hotel a bit overpriced with facilities limited for the £150 per night paid. I think the £90-£120 max bracket would be adequate for the proposition offered. The few niggling issues could be easily resolved.
