“4 stars? On which planet?”

Yet another hotel whose 4-star status is a total mystery. Who hands out these stars & on what criteria? This is a perfectly adequate 3-star hotel charging well over what it's worth. My room was spartan but clean. Spartan aspects: 1. no information in the room about the hotel; 2. no tea/coffee making facilities (that alone should strip off a star); 3. water pressure in the shower was feeble; 4. hot water barely tepid; & 5. only one electrical outlet in the room so no way to simultaneously plug in an anti-mosquito device (necessary) & charge your phone. Check in was adequate but they didn't tell me that I had to collect the mini-bar key from reception. The next surprise was the safe. This is the only hotel I've ever stayed at with a charge for using the safe. What's that about? They think patrons are going to purloin the safes? It's a popular wedding venue so lots of noise late into the night; if you like fresh air when sleeping it's a toss-up between that & loud music. If you go for the quiet option, you have to use the A/C to cool the room: hardly very planet-friendly. Most of the front desk staff were offhand & indeed patronizing, with an air of superiority hardly justified by employment in a mediocre mass market tourist hotel in the backblocks of Cyprus. The attitude of the single exception, a pleasant young woman, only underlined how disagreeable the others were. Summary: just OK if there's no alternative; unjustifiably expensive & not at all worth what you pay.

Area recommendations
Larnaca? I didn't see much of it, but the bits I saw were not particularly attractive. Very mass tourism oriented, a bit seedy. Not my scene at all so wouldn't recommend it.

“Günstig gediegen entspannen”

Äußerst freundliches Personal. Hotel eigener Strand ist äußerst schön. Auch die Poollandschaft macht viel spass. Frühstück fanden wir reichhaltig und ausgewogen. Auf der Speisekarte könnte mehr Variation sein. Zimmer gut eingerichtet und für einen Strandurlaub zweckmäßig (Seitlicher Meeresblick). Zimmer waren Sauber, nur die vom Hotel zur Verfügung gestellten Badetüche wiesen immer wieder Flecken auf. Alles in Allen kann ich das Hotel für einen Familienurlaub und aber auch für einen Single Urlaub nur empfehlen. Wichtig wäre nur ein Mietauto zu haben, dass man in den Nachtbarort fahren kann, wo wesentlich mehr los ist. (abendprogramm)

“Hotel am Meer”

Rel. gute Lage in der Nähe von Larnaka, Hotel modern eingerichtet, die Zimmer sind freundlich und modern, einzig die Bad-Armaturen hätten auch renoviert werden können, der Preis für diese Saison leicht überteuert.
