“Wanting to return between Xmas and New Year”
Lovely hotel, friendly staff and very helpful. Room was a little chilly during the night but otherwise, had a fantastic stay.
“Weekend break”
Lovely hotel with good breakfast. In the room the quilt cover had a hole in it and the runner on the bed was dirty which is unusual for a marriott in my experience. the 300 countbed linens are sooo soft! this made up for my husbands dissapointment of not having a programme guide button on the tv! conveniently situated for the Lakes (the hotel, not the tv!)
“Exceptional service”
What you'd expect from a Marriott really. No complaints from me. The lovely 'older' woman in the breakfast room was fabulous - very attentive, incredibly polite and very friendly.
“Will recommend and hope to return!!”
Very pleased
“Nice hotel in own grounds...”
Good quality country hotel. Excellent breakfast, great pool.
“A touch of class”
Excellent hotel would definitely go back
“great time”
The hotel was great. It was like stepping into an agatha christy novel in terms of public domain style. The only down side was the food in the bar area wassn't that good (of course I did order mexican). They did have the best sticky toffey pudding we tried during our 2 week visit to the UK. We did not get a chance to eat in the main dining room but it looked very nice. All in all, I could stay there again, espeically if I have kids as there is a park wtihin 5 mins walking.
“Avoid the coach trips if you can”
We booked this hotel as a stopover on our way up to Scotland for a long weekend and was pleased to find a deal that included dinner - however on booking in we were told that we couldn't have a table in the restaurant until after 9.00 as there were three coaches booked in that night. We weren't happy about this as we'd had a long day travelling - we were offered bar meals in the lounge but again not happy as we had been looking forward to enjoying a restaurant meal. Staff did go out their way to help and we utilised the restaurant menu in the lounge, however it wasn't quite the same ambience and the lounge was just as busy as the restaurant. Same thing happened at breakfast - it was a bit of a rugby scrum at the buffet. Good deal on the price though and the pool and lovely gardens were a bonus for us.
“Lovely Hotel, friendly staff”
Could not fault the hotel or staff but little choice for eating other than at the hotel. We decided to make an afternoon and evening of it and headed to Blackpool!
