Good comfortable hotel.

Posted 19-Jun-2015
Pros: See above
Cons: See above
Location: Good location for Central Lancashire and the Fylde. Exits on to a very busy main road, the A6 and can be difficult to get out, esp turning north.
Good hotel, have stayed before. Everything OK but the restaurant and bar menus were a bit brief, not much choice, and the breakfast cooked selection was poor. The wi-fi was expensive (having just stayed in two good hotels where it was free) at £8 per day or £20 per 3 days. I arrived on the Saturday evening at about 5pm and signed in. I chose the three day option as I was staying until the Monday. As soon as I had checked out at 10am Monday the connection was chopped! Effectively I paid £20 for 41 hours use...not good. Would I recommend the hotel? Yes, but with reservations (see above).

Nice hotel with great breakfast

Hotel is very spacious and easily accessed from the M6 motorway. Great grounds and hotel facilities are acceptable. Food is good and breakfast is really good.

Nice hotel but some areas ready for refurbishment

Posted 25-May-2015
Pros: Staff very helpful. Food very nice
Cons: Some refurbishment and decoration needed
Location: Reasonable shopping in Preston. Not too far from the Lakes in one direction and Trafford Centre in the other. Good garden centre nearby.
Very good welcome by reception staff. Have stayed at this hotel before, however, room not as nice as last time and bed not particularly comfortable. However room was very clean and nice selection of toiletries in bathroom. Stairs and corridor in need of decoration. Chairs in bar also looked as though they had seen better days. Bar staff were very polite and helpful. Breakfast was fab and again staff very attentive.

Nice hotel shame about the noise

Posted 19-May-2015
Lovely hotel. Nice pool and spa. Nice surroundings. Unfortunately as we were on the ground floor facing the car park, we heard noise from outside and the room next door. Shame as other than that was a lovely hotel.

The staff at this hotel are amongst the best trained and performing I have ever encountered. They are a credit to the hotel. Very nice place to stay if your in this area of UK.

Seriously... no free wi-fi in rooms

Posted 22-Jan-2015 on Hotels
Very friendly clean hotel with good gym and pool. but surely any hotel of this type should have free wi-fi in all rooms. Crazy. Also breakfast is really disappointing.

Good hotel for business.

I've stayed at the Marriott Preston numerous times with work and been very happy each time. It's location is ideal, no more than a few minutes off the motorway but far enough off to feel that you've escaped briefly. The staff have always been helpful and polite. The rooms are adequately sized and always clean. Food in the bar/restaurant is a little overpriced like most hotels but what you get is generally good. Bar staff are again friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is buffet but there is a chef on hand to prepare fresh eggs which I prefer. Good selection of hot and cold and plenty of fresh coffee. They also provide a small table by reception with fresh tea and coffee and pastries which is a nice touch if you are in a rush. I believe there is a pool/gym but I'm yet to try these as I tend to taker my own bike which in itself has never caused an issue being in the room. I'd definitely stay again.
