location ok if you have a car-hotel tired & dated

Posted 01-Jun-2015
Pros: the location
Cons: staff trainining and attitudes - staff should open doors for guests not the other way around Breakfast was a disappointment - need more staff and
We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years but not for a few years - nothing has changed in many years and it shows - public areas (particularly corridors and reception toilets) are very tired and dated and really in need of some tlc. room was clean and had some features modernised (tv) and bathroom had clearly been done in our room but bath removed and only a shower. In room hairdryer is still the original and it packed up as I started to dry my hair - reception/housekeeping then took over 30 mins to find a "spare" and bring it to me making me late for an appointment (i could hardly go with wet hair). We stayed for 2 nights and did not see housekeeping but they did make up our room to a good standard - however despite there being 2 of us only replaced 1 set of towels so getting a 2nd bath towel meant another call to reception and another wait. Members of housekeeping were seen by us in the corridor (it was very long) - we were in room 46 which is a long walk down the corridiors and as far away from reception as you can get - and they were rude and surly - we had several fire doors to go through to get to reception - on 1 occasion a housekeeper pushed the door closed on us - on another one coming the other way stopped and waited for me to open the door for her - this is not good customer service - we were leaving at that time and I was pulling a trolley case and she was carrying a few towels!!!! The breakfast was a complete disappointment - the worst

Cons: Zie bovenstaand verhaal.
Location: Zie bovenstaand verhaal.

Zimmer ersten Abend eiskalt. Dusche schäbig. Kleiderschrank kaputt.

Nice rooms, poor service

We ate in the restaurant. We had to ask for drinkd twice and were told they were very busy because of a wedding in the hotel .... Obviously they took preference over other guests. Restaurant was very poorly staffed causing long waits and a very restricted choice of meals available. Wouldn't go back to this hotel

This hotel does need a bit of a face lift. I stayed in the executive suite and expected the toiletries to be replaced but this was not the case I have only 2 problems with my stay 1. toiletries 2. Fire alarm going off in the middle of the night and no offer of compensation

Disappointing! Not a 4 star as advertised.

Pros: Comfortable bed Quiet room Friendly staff
Cons: Renovation Broken items should be fixed especially at £110/night! Use a different laundry company Parking in the evenings
Location: Shopping centre with Cinema Retail park About 8 miles to Glasgow central
I recently visited East Kilbride for business so I booked in at the Holiday Inn for 6 nights. I'll start with the good points. For a hotel so close to a busy road it was remarkably quiet. The bed was comfortable and the rooms were quite spacious (I was in a junior suite). The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was acceptable. Now the bad points....I paid for an upgrade to an Executive room and was put into a junior suite. At first glace this was a pleasant room but on closer inspection the electric shaver socket in the bathroom was cracked, the silicone around the bath and sink needs replacing as they were black and cracked tiles were the physical issues with the room. As part of an executive room I was entitled to "upgraded" toiletries these were replenished 2 of 6 nights and on one occasion I had to go to reception for more shower gel! Whilst on the subject of toiletries there were soap/hand wash canisters on the walls of the bathroom. Now these might be acceptable in a budget hotel but this was advertised on Expedia as 4-star. I have never seen these in a 4-star hotel before. In addition to the toiletries not being replenished the "free" bottles of water were only replenished 3 times during my stay. In the end, I just bought some from a supermarket on my way back from the office. Laundry is a shambles. It took 2 days to have my clothes be returned only because I complained. Q hotel in Cumbernauld is a 4-star and you should look at how they do things.
