We stayed in Plataran resorts in Borabadur and Labuan Bajo. The rooms and facilities are outstanding. The food and service are good. This is an excellent jumping off point to go to Komodo island marine park. The only thing to keep in mind is that you can't walk into the water off the beach because of crabs.

Quiet and relaxing. Really nice villas. Probably the nicest place in Komodo. Staff should probably pay a little more attention to picking up trash along the beach. Also, one of the 2 paddle boards was broken

While the staff was lovely, we had a bed bug issue. Over night, we got bitten all over our bodies. I'm still suffering from the bug bites and they have left scars all over my body.

Staff could not do enough for you. The villa was clean, excellent location. Located in a secluded area - 10 minutes away from town area. Staff were magnificent, helpful and cheerful. Food at the bistro and restaurant were good.

Ideal location for a visit to Komodo Island
We had a great stay at Plataran while visiting Komodo Island. Staff was very helpful in arranging activities and helping out if anything. In many respects this was as close to paradise as you get. Should i point out two small improvement areas it would be the food meny which is not to exciting (in particular for a resort where the nearest outside restaurant is quite far away) and that the staff could have been slightly more proactive when it came to taking orders by the pool area and the beach. That aside we had a phenomenal time.

The villas were so spacious and the resort was lovely and quiet. A beautiful house reef a short swim from the beach perfect for snorkelling. A gym overlooking the beach - best gym location ever. A very peaceful way to spend a few days.

Great experience. Very responsive staff that met us at the airport and drove us to the villa. they set up a WhatsApp chat with the staff and answered all of our questions quickly. Even helped to translate with one of our guides on a day trip. Breakfast is included and fresh every day. Great experience and staff.

Wonderful, somewhat secluded hotel, great service
Our stay at the Plataran was wonderful. It was hard to get a true sense of the place beforehand, but we were pleasantly surprised once we arrived. The location is a bit isolated, so I personally would plan on spending most of your time at the hotel. The main town of Labuan Bajo is kind of ratty so you aren't missing much. The hotel is located on a quiet and calm bay just north of the main town and it's beautiful. Most rooms seem to spill right onto the beach. It's not a huge place, but offered more than we expected for its size. Food at the restaurant was quite good actually, and they have a 2nd restaurant that we didn't try. The staff and service were extremely attentive and helpful. We booked a private boat tour to Komodo etc. ourselves and they have a nice jetty set up just off the hotel where the boat picked us up. Very convenient! If we ever come back this way, will definitely stay here again.

Overall the space, service and view were absolutely gorgeous. The room was especially tranquil both inside and outside. Staff was amazingly kind and conversational which was very welcome as a solo traveler. Only two things were slightly disappointing. The first was that my shower / bathroom needed to be re-grouted. While not dirty, pieces of grout were coming loose and tiles were no longer solidly in place. Secondly, was the construction (noise and inconvenience) of the gym and spa. While knowledge of either of these in advance would not have changed my decision to stay at Plataran (and will probably be done soon in 2019) I may not have scheduled three spa services. Also, with so many activities I wasn't around a lot during the day for construction noise. Overall fantastic stay!!!

Beautiful. We booked the Limasan Beachfront Villa for 3 (2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 2 king beds) and stayed at Villa Ikan Terbang (Flying Fish Villa). Was situated right in front of the beach closest to the Plataran entrance. Service was excellent. Hotel manager, Agus, and front desk manager, Anton, were very accommodating. Welcomed with a drink, had daily free breakfast and afternoon tea, and were even given a history of the island while relaxing by the pool. Only downsides were that one of our bathrooms had a leaking toilet (loose pipe below the toilet) that was fixed same day, WiFi went down for two days due to bad weather that caused the optic fiber cable to be severed (other hotels nearby like Ayana lost WiFi too), and the ACs tend to drop a tiny bit over time when run at full blast. Not a problem as we spent more time exploring than at the hotel. Overall we had a very pleasant experience. For Labuan Bajo, I recommend booking the Plataran if you want a traditional feel and your own villa as opposed to the Ayana which is more modern and has hotel rooms. Labuan Bajo is also a very beautiful destination. Recommend taking tours to see the komodo dragons at Rinca island. Go to Padar Island for a scenic hike and Taka Makassar island for gorgeous scenery and great snorkeling.

Love Indonesian people
Being the only guests the first two nights we were given very special attention indeed. Lovely stay. Friendly people. Excellent massage and great to see all the staff come out to clean the beach. Excellent breakfasts. When the villas tarting filling up the place got a little too noisy but maybe that was because we were used to the tranquility being the only guests. Enjoyed the homemade cookies each night placed in our bedroom.

This was such an incredible resort. The staff was amazing, the food was delicious, and it was a very private/quiet/relaxing place to stay. 10/10 recommendation. You will not be disappointed with your stay!!!!!

Quiet Resort for couples with great sunset.
Nice Resort with free shuttle to town. 15min. Lovely sunset. We used paddle board. Caught speed boat from resort to Rangko Cave and Pirate Island in one day trip. Dinner In Atlantis on the Beach. Swam in Resort pool, warm.

Big Villa in a nice spot
We enjoyed our stay at Plataran Komodo. It felt quite luxurious after being on a liveaboard for a few nights. We had a deluxe Villa which was huge, with a massive bathroom including bathtub. The service was great and the staff welcoming. Nice, plentiful breakfast. A little out of town but there are 2 restaurants on site. We didnt get the chance to use it, but the Padma Spa looked nice and prices seemed ok for a resort.

Tranquil Paradise
Plataran is a lovely, tranquil destination. We only stayed 1 night to spoil ourselves after a live aboard and it was perfect. Food is good as are cocktails. Everyone is pleasant and helpful.

5 star property in a very remote area of Indonesia
Hotel was beautiful and excellently taken care of. The food was good and most importantly, staff was extremely friendly and warm. It was a wonderful property we would return to.
