The did a good job accomodating us in an unforseen storm. Always were helpful and willing to take care of our needs. Great staff and location was perfect for what i was looking for. More relaxed quiet area then some of the other spots but that is what i liked best. Close to many beach bars as well.

It is on the most beautiful cove. The staff was so helpful. I needed to cancel a day trip they scheduled and they did without charge. That was tremendous.

Beautiful little bay
Hotel grounds were very well kept if you wake up early enough you can see the groundkeepers out every morning tending to the property.

Nice view
Room was clean and comfortable. Had to go up a steep flight of stairs to get to the room, but had a nice view from the balcony itself. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice swimming pool overlooking the beach.

Great views
Lovely hotel. Quiet side of the island. Location is awesome! pity about the bad attitude in some staff members. Some were great. Others were not friendly at all and made it feel like we were making their lives a misery. Had a lovely time though and would recommend.

Almost on the beech
We booked a bit blind, but hit a gem. Never went near the upper part and can only speak on the beech zone. We upgraded to a bungalow and it has same facilities as a superior room, but twice the space.

Nice accommodation close to the beach
We went here for our honeymoon and loved it. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The on-site massage was fab! The restaurant has a great selection of food available. The only down side was our room was a little small and cramped due to the large bed, but the air-con always worked and had a TV. Wi-Fi was fine, just annoying that we had to keep re-signing in when we returned from an outing. Not a lot to complain about and we would definitely go back again.

Lovely Bay
We stayed in #114 a beach bungalow. There were mouse droppings on the floor and on the vanity counter. We should have booked a more upscale unit. No hot water at the sink. Nice and quiet and close to the beach. On site restaurant was excellent.

Horrible. Rude staff who don't care about your stay. Found bugs in my PILLOW. Room was not cleaned everyday. Wifi does not reach the room.

Great place to stay in Ko Tao
I was really happy to come back to Tao but very sad to see how much the ecologic situation is getting down year after year. There is almost nothing left to see when snorkelling and there is too much traffic, littering and pollution (especially on Sairee beach)

We were really looking forward to our return visit after being there in Nov 2014 but sometimes life circumstances are beyond our control. The plan was to spend Songkran on Koh Tao. Unfortunately this time we were unable to stay. While we were in Koh Samui on our way to Koh Tao I received word that my brother in Canada had passed away following a lengthy battle with cancer. The cancellation policy states clearly that no refund is allowed & I lost 100% of the booking fee. I had no choice so no worries. We may return sometime in the future.

Quite and beautiful
Staff - most lovely helpful people in Thailand! The lady at the desk helped us book a train to bangkok and was easy. So helpful. From reception staff, housekeeping and bar staff. Room - Room was lovely. Had 310. Soft bed. Nice shower and room. Close to the beach and pool. Facilities - pool was amazing. But does get warm as the day goes on. Not enough sun beds. We went down at bfast and put towels down so no dramas. Location- is in a quite bay. Other shops and places to eat if u walk down the hill. 7eleven 10mins away. And a working cash point. Serrie beach is about 10mins in the car away. 300 bh to go/ come back it u haggle. Go to baracuda amazing!!!!! Wifi - fast FaceTime and YouTube. Just have to login all the time.

Very friendly and helpful staff who organised everything - food was lovely and shuttle every thirty minutes up to paradise zone makes it worth going here. surrounding area was a brilliant although they could do with another one / two restuarants. Go to the bar on the pier at night - live band plays. Pool amazing.

Location is prime but rooms are rustic and staff is just willing to help with basic needs! No real friendliness! The massage is awesome! If you book a standard room be prepared to want to upgrade! We were able to get a bungalow for our 5 days for 15.00 US total! Well worth it!

Great Place to Relax
Hotel is very nice. Consists of a beach-front and separate hill side (Paradise Zone) We stayed in the Paradise Zone. There is a shuttle between beach-side and Hill side site. The hotel is well maintained, staff are friendly, helpful and for the most part speak excellent English. The Paradise rooms offer an excellent view. There are many stairs so would not recommend staying hillside for people who are mobility challenged. Only negative comment. There are no English language news stations (BBC, CNN etc.) on the television.

Paradise Zone if you are looking for views !
This hotel was great. It offered beautiful views. We stayed in paradise zone which is high up a hill however a hotel bus will take you up and down every half an hour. It was worth staying here for the views alone as it was unlike anything i had ever experienced before. We stayed for a few nights and it was the highlight hotel of our entire 2 week stay in thailand. Breakfast was standard and offered toast and cereals etc it was fine. we stayed here over the new year and it was very quiet, only a few people at the pool at any one time. The staff were friendly. Superior room is big enough for two, its not massive but its clean and airy. We requested sea view and got an amazing view. The location was pretty good, once the bus brought you down from the paradise zone (you can walk but its very steep) there are bars and restuarants. There is another pool at beach zone and then you can walk a few steps down to the small beach. Its beautiful. Sairee beach is not far, maybe around 8 minutes in a taxi.

We really liked it
There are two hotels managed as one. We stayed at the Paradise level which is the one up the hill. The pool and terraces are very spacious and offer excellent 360 degree views of coastlines, ocean horizons and hillsides. The view from the room balcony and pool are nothing short of beautiful 24 hours a day. At night, we liked to go onto the terrace and stare up at the stars. We were here in mid December and mosquitos were not an issue as we lounged on the terrace. The hill took us about 4 or 5 minutes to climb, and about 2-3 minutes walk down. Most people rented a motorcycle or scooter or took a taxi, but we would walk to the town (near the pier) in about 30-40 minutes.

Conveniently quiet
We recently spent 1 nite at Ko Tao Resort so that my wife could attend the Emergency First Response Instructor Trainer course at the nearby Buddha View test center. We enjoyed dinner, breakfast & lunch during our short visit. Did was fine & many choices on the menu. Lots of room, facilities are spread out with many levels. It is nice being so close to the ocean. Service is quite good. We are considering a return trip in January to do some diving.

Beach Zone review- great pool, mediocre hotel
It was a mediocre hotel with sub par service but has a great pool. There is a Paradise level, which I did not see as it was up on a very steep hill and I wanted to be close to the beach. The beach zone pools are nice but no bar at the infinity pool, which is a shame. We first stayed in a bungalow up the hill, which was dark and rustic. Decided to extend our stay and upgrade for a couple bucks more to a superior room (#316) but didn't sleep well despite the more comfortable and brighter room because of a rat who scratched at the wall all night. The resort did give us a different room for our last night which was comfortable. Overall, it's a hotel that could do with refurbishing. Will try a different hotel next visit to Ko Tao. It appears the main hotel part got rid of their restaurant and is now the Chalok Restaurant, which is good food with decent service and there is a pool where you can get drinks by the pool. Main infinity Pool is gorgeous with an amazing view though I would probably try a different hotel my next visit:-)

Great beach, okay rooms
The beach was beautiful, but the rooms were very modest for the price we paid. They own a lot of property with spots to enjoy the views. It didn't come with breakfast, but there's a restaurant that has decent food. I didn't find the hotel staff to be helpful when trying to book a snorkeling tour...we had to go into town to figure it out for ourselves. It wasn't our favorite place, but it does the job.

Paradise Zone yes! Beach Zone don't go!
Hard to rate this hotel as a whole, as Paradise Zone and Beach Zone are seperately managed and couldn't be more different. We checked into a Deluxe room in the Beach Zone, everything about the Beach Zone was appalling! Do not stay here! We managed to upgrade and moved up to Paradise Zone which was like paradise after being in the Beach Zone! Our room was enormous with beautiful views and the pool area is really great too. The restaurant food is very mediocre though, so I would eat out as much as possible! Yin Yan down the road is great for Thai food!

We were diving with the dive shop on site, so the convenience was key. And - as a very experienced diver - I can say that the dive shop is excellent, so worth the stay. However, the resort is just run down. A beautiful piece of property with efficient layout, but the rooms and facilities don't seem to have been upgraded since original construction. This could be a fabulous place with some work.

Ok, you're in Thailand and prepared to some adventures, but avoid this hotel. The staff is rude, mainly in the reception. The room is tiny with out a lot of comfort. The pool and beach are great (but in Ko Tao all beaches are great). I believe you can find something better than this one.

Great location but...
This hotel had some mixed reviews so we were a bit sceptical booking it but the pool and beach-side location swung it for us. We started off with a twin terrace about 50m from the beach. The room was small but seemed ok on first impressions, however after a few nights we began to notice some flaws. The shower was useless, there were termites in the wooden walls that bit you during the night. The staff at the beachside half of the resort were not at all friendly and every tiny request seemed like an inconvenience for them. The food at the restaurant was amazing though, the best of the entire trip. However, we liked the location so much we stayed another couple of nights and got a bungalow this time. It was a bit more expensive but had more room, was closer to the beach, was termite free and had a working shower. Overall I'd say the resort had great location and amenities, it seems some rooms might not meet your expectations, but the staff were the worst part of the stay (luckily though we are self sufficient and don't rely on them too much). Out of interest we went one day to the paradise part of the resort to find the other infinity pool. It was up a fairly steep hill but the view was well worth it and the staff seemed a lot more friendly, so if you don't mind further to walk to the beach try and get a room in that section :)

A decent hotel in a relatively quiet location, yet within a short walk to restaurants and 7/11. The beach is ok, but not good for snorkeling. The room was reasonably clean, the AC worked well. It did feel older, and in need of some refurbishing.

Nice stay
Nice stay in Koh Tao - we stayed in a bungalow which was up some quite steep steps. The bungalow itself was pretty rustic and the bathroom was open top (so no privacy if your other half is in the bungalow too!) Had to pay for a tuk tuk cab down to the main beach each night as there's not an awful lot around the hotel. Great if you want a quiet stay, but would have been better for us if we'd stayed nearer the beach/bars/restaurants.

We were on a 4 week budget travelling holiday and wanted R&R by the sea. The hotel pool and beach were great and the room itself was ok although the whole hotel needs a little tlc which won't happen while the staff there are so lacking in enthusiasm and lacking in smiles. It has tremendous potential though. It fitted our bill, although we did have a problem with very noisy scratching by rats or squirrels in the roof above our room which we reported and were promised a room move which never happened. In the end we used ear plugs and busy days to tire ourselves out. We knew we were only staying 3 nights so put up with things guests staying longer would have issues with.

Paradise Resort
Pros: lovely views from the top, transfer from and to the pier, transfer to and from the beach zone every half hour until 10pm, infinity pool, beach front with sunbeds, nice food at the restaurant. Staff helpful, booked my boat ticket to Samui, helped with some tips. Delicious green curry at the restaurant. Cons: a taxi ride into Mae Had pier area with the hotel taxi is 100 Baht, back to the hotel with the local taxis 300 Baht. Paradise zone is not right on the beach, might have to walk up and down lots of stairs if you don't want to wait for the next half-hourly taxi. Wi-fi is not available in the rooms and very intermittent and unreliable at the reception area. My room was directly under the restaurant area and I could hear people moving chairs quite loudly at 7am and 10-11pm. Also, one of the nights has been disturbed by the sound of mice, I guess, scuttering somewhere inside the wall, not in my room, but nearby.

Fantastic Stay
Don't know why this hotel gets such low reviews. Stayed in the paradise zone at the top of the hill.Very steep drive but shuttle was always available. Fantastic views. Lovely facilities including stunning infinity pool. Bit dated rooms but good size. Very quiet in hotel but able to use facilities of sister hotel down hill on beach.

Service was ok, english was fine, but not the friendliest staff. This is compared to overly nice service at other places though, so a relative comment. Room was ok. No hot water in the shower. Given this is a snorkeling/scuba diving island, no hot shower after a salty and cold snorkeling day was not ideal. Room was fine otherwise. Parts of the hotel is located at the top of a major hill though, and cab drivers were charging an extra 25% to take you up the hill. Convenient to local dive shops.

We arrived at this hotel in the low season in November. Arrived at the hotel no hello no welcome just "passports" gave us our room key and we were off. Got to the room and the AC was out of batteries, mini bar was empty and safe didnt work. They have a list of all the different things if you loose and how much it costs (obviously you have to pay for what you loose but to have this displayed is pretty trashy). Also they have this rule about check out after 11am it's 300baht per hour! Laughable!! After 4 calls to the office we finally got settled and took a look around the resort. Tables were stacked up chairs piled up and the staff were lieing around like they owned the place even all watching TV and relaxing. The pool was gorgeous however since it seemed nobody even worked there it took 10 min to find where the beach towels were. Then we got hungry? But all restaurants in the resort seemed closed and nobody working anywhere we had to truck down the mountain to rent a scooter which is a 100% must if you stay here. Absolutely unacceptable staff and resort set up. We felt very I welcomed. I'd stay near the beach in a newer undated hotel. Nice pool tho
