Property was dated, with dusty surfaces in room and a bathroom in need of a refurb. On a positive note the bed was very comfortable with fresh sheets and towels provided regularly. We did not use the hotel restaurant as breakfast food choices and an eating time had to be made the night before which we were not prepared to do.

On a positive note, you were upgraded to the largest room with no extra charge. No mention of that.....

Perfect for our one night stay
Perfect for our one night stay. Friendly hosts, clean and comfortable room and situated a short walk from the town. Close to area attractions. Lovely breakfast; great choice with plenty of fruit and a vegetarian cooked meal was our choice to set us up for the day.

Cycling Holiday
We stayed one night on a cycling holiday and were very comfortable. Sue and Steve have a lovely guest house. The room was quiet and nice, and Sue helped us store our bikes in a secure shed in the garden. Our room had a large bath and sink, as well as a four-poster bed--quirky and fun.

Steve,sue,tyson,tabatha and missy Somehow the best just gets better! This second stay with you has been even better than the first! This is not a b&b its a home away from home..the rooms are beautiful,clean and comfy,anything we needed was provided and nothing was too much to ask for,thanks for making us feel so at home we absolutly love it here and its been a pleasure to get to know you all and share a cheeky chinese! Beautiful area & lovely hosts
Sue & Steve were really lovely & greeted us when we arrived. The room was lovely & had recently had the addition of a gorgeous Victorian style bath which was lovely to relax in after our evening walk. Toilet was separate to the bedroom but this wasn’t an issue for us. We had breakfast which was delicious (breakfast was an extra charge). Shortly after we arrived we decided to go for a walk & Sue gave us some advice about local landmarks including Ruthven Barracks. The location is beautiful & we enjoyed our walk around the village & to the barracks. I’d love to go back again. Very friendly hosts, lovely guest house in a beautiful location.

Freindly and comfortable
We really enjoyed our stay, Sue & Steve were very welcoming, friendly, room was very comfortable and spacious, rooms have all you need whether your staying 1 night or more. would certainly recommend Avondale House.

Very small room and no bathroom attached. We were running late and couldn’t call the hotel as the phone was not working.

Thank you for your comments. We have recently taken over Avondale House, and unfortunately had to change the phone number and create a new website. I understand the confusion with this, but unfortunately we couldn't take over the previous web and phone addresses. The room you booked clearly states shared bathroom, and the room itself, yes is small, but it is a cozy and very comfortable room, and is priced accordingly. Please note we do have en-suite rooms available, but these are at higher rates.

Thank you Andrew. As we have only been up and running for just over 2 months, the shared bathroom is definitely on the to do list to update, so please be patient with us. Rome wasn't built in 1 day :-)

Kamer was schoon. Sanitair was oud en slecht aangelegd. Toilet spoelde slecht door en zag er tov de kamer onfris uit. Voor wat de kamer koste was het de prijs niet waard.

Ein perfekter Kurzurlaub
Die Umgebung ist sehr vielfältig und lädt zu vielen interessanten Tagesausflügen ein. Die Unterkunft und der Service waren super, die Vermieter sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und das Frühstück abwechslungsreich und ein guter Start in den Tag.

Einfach nur schön
Ein schönes B&B in einer traumhaften Umgebung. Perfekt für Ausflüge oder zum Entspannen. Parkplätze sind in ausreichender Anzahl auf dem Gelände vorhanden und der Hund des Hauses ist einfach nur lieb. Das Haus ist zwar etwas hellhörig, das ist bei dem Alter des Gebäudes aber erwarten gewesen.
