"My stay at Hotel Chandela, Khajuraho 7-9 Nov 2014"
It was a very comfortable & Rejuvenating stay at Hotel Chandela, Khajuraho. Myself & my wife travelled to this destination by train from delhi which reaches early morning at Khajuraho & hotel management was kind enough to allow us early check-in.
It is very peacefull & full of greenery with big lawn & ideal for nature's lover like me to enjoy the morning time. Hotel food was excellent & we have enjoyed most the local Bundel Thali which has having unique style of preparation & teste.
Hotel staff was very cordial & helpfull & Hotel services were very good....Clean room & comfortable bed ensured our stay more memorable.....
Hotel is a very well maintained hotel and has beautiful grounds and swimming pool. Staff is very helpful and responsive. It is close to the temples and if you are up to it the hotel has bikes that you could rent to visit the temples and explore the nearby villages.
This was one of the most personalized check-in experiences I've had--one of the hotel's managers personally greeted us, and we were given moist towels and a glass of juice directly on being welcomed into the lobby (both of which were quite welcome on a hot, humid day). The staff all went out of their way to provide excellent service, whether it was the front desk, the bar, or the restaurant. Unlike some large hotels in India, there was just the one restaurant, but the food quality was good. We did not use the swimming pool, but it looked clean and inviting. The room was very good, the shower a bit older but clean and in reasonable working condition. Overall, a very good experience.
This was a lovely, well maintained hotel...very nice pool and great complimentary buffet breakfast... a 20 min walk to the temples or an easy rickshaw ride... this area is delightfully peaceful, especially after large cities like Delhi and Varanasi.
We arrived with a night train in Khajuraho and were already at 7am in the Hotel Eurostar Inn, where the reception was warm and friendly. In contrast to all other places where we stayed, our room was already prepared and we could move straight in. Our room was quiet large, light and everything was new and spotlessly clean (also unlike other hotels and to our greatest delight the double bed had no gap in the middle in to which one of us would disappear at night). The room had a balcony, air conditioning and a bed table lamp with a switch accessible from the bed (!!! not a given at all in India). The Hotel also offered an exquisite Northern Indian breakfast (baji puri). Although the view of our specific room was not so nice, there was a lovely little green front garden with papaya trees and several Tulsi bushes. All temples and restaurants of Khajuraho can be reached by a small hike. The Eurostar Inn was like an oasis in the tohuwabohu of this little village.
The best thing about the Eurostar Inn are the personnel that is not only very competent and helpful, but reliable and very engaged! We particularly liked the young manager who is smart and very quick. At night, in the new and modern foyer, we had insightful discussions with the owner of Eurostar about India and its culture
All in all, this was our most pleasant stay out of seven Hotels in India.
The best thing was that the staff was very friendly and cooperative. The property feels old, but with some modern amenities.
The not so good thing was that the buffet breakfast was kind of boring. And they didn't change it over the three days that we were there.
The worst thing was that the selection of TV Channels was deplorable.
The stay was otherwise pretty good.
