Great breakfast, staff are very friendly. One note, check-in time ends around 10:00pm, so if arrive at the hotel late after the time, need to prearrange the online check-in with the hotel.

We have stopped there on the way from Austria. Very modern hotel with very modern rooms and very comfy beds. Very clean as well. Staff was very welcoming and very friendly. Very good breakfast with decent selection of hot and cold food. Although it was only one night we had very pleasant stay. From now on it will be our stop on the way to or back from Austria. Highly recommended...

Clean, Comfortable and huge choice for breakfast.
We needed a stop over travelling back to London from Italy. I was with my parents and my dog. I had no problems with my dog. The room (2 double beds) was clean and comfortable. Big enough for us all to have space to rest after a long days drive and before another long day pf driving. Even had a free bottle of water in the fridge for us. The breakfast is on the pricey side but it does have a good variety of foods to choose from. So much so, we all got food for our lunch that day as well. The only criticism is the air condition wasn't great. The room was warm (end of Aug) and it took ages for the AC to make a difference (we had it on 0oC) During the night the AC did provide a cool breeze to stop it getting too hot.

The rooms are not clean. We have stayed for 5 nights and the bedsheets were never changed even though we asked twice. We have complained to the managers and no action was taken. On their directory of service they have listed items that can be provided at reception, when we asked for toothbrushes and toothpastes (which they are supposed to provide at reception) they don’t have it. The receptionist said they will ask for toothbrushes to be provided to us the next day but it was never provided.

Pleasant Stopover
We were travelling round 6 countries in 8 days so literally arrived at 10pm and left at 9am. It was a little difficult to work out how to get in the car park (including a scary moment where I forgot I was in Europe and started driving the wrong side of a two lane road! Once in we were met with friendliness by the man on the desk and check in was effortless. The room was clean and tidy with a great shower and it was quiet so we slept well. There was also free wifi which was really easy to log on to. All in all a pleasant stopover.

Can't go wrong with the Star Inn
I use the Star Inn relatively frequently with work purely because of its cleanliness and also its location. My only complaint for the hotel would be it always seems to be cold, and it doesn't matter what you set the thermostat to!

Regarding the cool temperature in the rooms, we can tell you that we can either only heat or just cool. Both ist unfortunately not possible. Since the system requires a certain amount of time to pump the warm air through the circuit, it can unfortunately happen that the temperature in the rooms does not increase immediately, but requires a certain amount of time for this. Hotel was OK..convenient to the major highways. But definitely more of a businesman's hotel as it is not close to anything in the city. Also, of note, it was fall and there was NO HEAT in the room. When I asked initially they stated they would have someone look at it. FOUR DAYS LATER, when I asked again I was informed they don't turn the heat on until "two more weeks". Are you kidding me? When I pay for a hotel room I would NEVER expect this. A guesthouse maybe. But not a commercial hotel. I advised that they should mention such so folks are aware when they book reservations. Also, the same applies in the hot months. The air conditioning is only on for certain months regardless of the temperature. Having said that they somewhat made it right by providing me a space heater.

Great simple hotel.
We stayed here for 2 nights with our / young children. Receptionist was lovely and the room was clean and comfy. The only thing it was missing was a kettle! Areas not great, a bit out of the centre but there's a tram stop right outside, we hired a car so not a problem. Loads of parking room. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel as it was expensive.

This is a clean, modern hotel with large air-conditioned rooms. The only thing that failed to impress is the hotel staff. Their attitude ranged from dis-interested to rude. Their 13 euro breakfast is to be avoided if possible.

I was extremely disappointed with my most recent stay at the Star Inn Hotel in Karlsruhe. They have switched to a free wifi service throughout the hotel, but to use it, a cell phone that works outside the US is needed, which I do not have. There was no option they could give me for doing this, even as I offered to pay for internet. On top of that, the wifi reception in the room was as low as possible without being completely nonexistent (which, altogether didn't matter, since I couldn't log on anyway). The air conditioning in the room sounded as if it were running, but the temperature wouldn't drop at any point. I make yearly trips here for work, and from now on I intend to stay elsewhere and commute for work, rather than being able to walk to work and suffer at this hotel one more day.

Clean and resonable rates
very clean, reasonable rates. Right next to Seimans office complex so location was in a business park and residential area outside of city limits but with all the construction in downtown Karlsruhe this was perfect. Desk Clerk suggested several nearby restraunts, we went to Brauhouse 2.0, very good. biggest complaint is there is no WIFI which was a big deal for us as we were from the states and had no cell service!
