Overall the property was nice. We didn't realize there was three properties (Blue, Red, Green houses) when we booked it. The underground walk ways made it easier to navigate as it was pretty easy to go from the Green to Blue house for dinner and to the Red house for the swimming pool. We stayed in the Green house and the rooms were pretty dated but were spacious. The dinner buffet was not the best and the hours didn't really lend to flexibility. The bar at the Green house was nice as was the bartender. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Not four star hotel
The hotel is definitely not 4stars. Small rooms, no air conditioning. No daily cleaning. The place advertise itself as pet friendly but has extremely high charges for pets.

Nice 3 night stay.
We had a nice stay. I would not describe any aspect of the hotel as excellent or 4*, but we had a relaxing stay. The room was fine, breakfast was good. The restaurant and cafe/bar close early. The best part of the trip was the spa/wellness area. The spa reception staff were very helpful and nice. Vladimir is a professional and we enjoyed his aqua walking class and sauna ceremonies. Vladimir was wonderful. He was our favorite person! Matuška worked hard to keep the pool area in good condition.

Old but decent!
Older crowd, older hotel. We paid for parking on-site $26 dollars a day but it was gated and secure in front of the hotel. The pool and spa was open and upon request, the indoor playroom was available (and totally ours). The underground corridors were amazing since it is really cold in November. The bus stop is right by the hotel but I recommend bringing your own vehicle. There isn’t much nearby but the restaurant buffet was open and we ordered Momma Mia pizza and it delivered. The front desk staff was nice and helped with every question/request. The hotel is older and could use some renovations but it had all the accommodations we needed. The suite was ideal for a toddler since we had two separate living spaces. Balconies were available too. There is also a bar off the front desk that has extended hours and offers full bar, coffee and cake.

Lovely town
I stayed 2 nights to visit the lovely town and did not use any spa services. My room was clean and comfortable, the staff and service were excellent and the food was delicious. I would recommend.

Wholly inadequate, needs renovation
Completely lacking in service and facilities. For a "resort" that advertises as a spa resort, this was absolutely terrible. The amenities are way too small for the number of rooms. The pool is usually so crowded you can't actually swim, the hot tub fits only four people, the steam room fits five, if you don't mind touching shoulders with the people on both sides, and the sauna tops out at 6-7 occupants. All that for a hotel with several hundred rooms is wholly inadequate. Our room was so small we had to stack the side table on top of the chair to create enough floor space to open our standard size suitcase on the floor. Housekeeping pounded on our door before 9am to which we asked them to come back a little later. They never did. The decor of the place looks and feels like a 1960s hospital. Our hallway walls were puke yellow with hideous lime green doors. Inside the room was equally unsightly and we were met with a four inch deep tub of used cigarette butts on our "balcony" which we could smell from inside. The balcony was divided from the neighbors only by a partially see through sheet of glass and each side was big enough only for a single person to stand. Staff was all rude, we encountered only a single staff member with passable English and few with passable German. To top it all off, the hotel charged my credit card for the stay even after prepaying on hotels.com. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere in downtown Karlovy Vary.

Truly enjoyed my stay but was surprised that there are no thermal baths in Karlovy Vary. One drinks the water from one of many natural springs! This spa has three separate buildings joined by underground tunnels and stairs. There is bus in front or one could walk to town center. I enjoyed the walk and beautiful location. I had breakfast and dinner included and the food was excellent. Breakfast choices included fresh eggs, bacon, sausages, various cold cuts, cheeses, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, and fresh bread and pastries. Dinner included soup and a minimum of 3 meat entrees, usually chicken, pork and fish. Also 3 different starches, vegetables and salads much more. Delicious food.

Hotel is good, staff is very accommodating. Location is far away from the city center, you have to use the bus, after all its not so bad. Food could be better, quiet place, beautiful views. Would definitely come back.

Relaxing Stay
We booked a hotel for 6 nights. Check in was a bit problematic because the room they gave us was facing the hill with the Bare Trees. We asked to have it changed for a room with the city view. We’ve got a room sitting on the top of the huge cement roof instead. Concierge said that the hotel was fully booked and they couldn’t give us a good room because they were “expecting guests”. We were hoping to have a nice room considering that we’ve made a reservation in advance and we were coming from so far away comparatively to the “guests” who were arriving from the country next door just for 1-2 nights to celebrate the Christmas. The two young reception girls were rude and resistant to give us a good room. They were discussing us in their language just in front of us. We ended up in the room they reserved for us initially. All this check in procedure made us feel that other “guests” were a way more important than us. Another negative experience was with the massage therapist (man) who was rude and provided only 10 to 15 min massage instead of 20. Fortunately, these two were the only negative experiences that we’ve had at Sanssouci. Special thanks go to the Restaurant Charleston hardworking staff who does a great job. They are very welcoming, greet guests with smile. The restaurant was always clean and neat. The food was delicious; good variety. We were very impressed by the freshness of the food and how tasty it was. Christmas dinner was really special. Well done! Loc

A place to cure your illnesses
Most people come to Karlovy Vary to drink mineral water (to cure digestive problems) and to get procedures, like mineral baths and physiotherapy for musculoskeletal problems. Most guests are elderly people. It is recommended to stay at least two weeks to get some results for your treatment. The town is beautiful, surrounded by mountains. Some locals are friendly, some are not. The hotel is nicely renovated. You have to take a bus to go to the town. The trip takes about 5 min and buses run every 20 min. The bus stop is in a front of the hotel. My meals were included in the price, but what was strange is that no liquids were served during lunch and dinner. You would have to buy a tea or a juice. Some hotel staff were realy nasty. Overall, I was not impressed. Will not come back.

Dieses Hotel ist in drei Häuser aufgeteilt, die Unterirdisch verbunden sind. Dazu muss man jedoch sehr viele Treppen gehen oder von einem Lift zum anderen laufen, ca. 50m , jeweils zum Essen oder Pool und Anwendungen. Wenn man dann wie Wir mit drei Personen über 70 Jahre und Fußtechnisch eingeschränkt unterwegs ist, wird das zu einer großen Belastung. Man sollte vielleicht bei der Zimmer vergabe auf das Alter achten und VORALLEN Dingen die Aufteilung auf drei Häuser anführen. Dieses zu verschweigen rechnen wir Ihnen als SEHR GROßEN MANGEL an. Leider waren für meinen Geschmack zu viele Kinder, die keine Erziehung genossen haben da. Aber da kann die Unterkunft nichts dafür. Leider haben wir vom Essen her, eher mehr was landestypischeres erwartet. Das Wasser vom Schwimmbecken war für uns auch leider etwas zu kalt. Aber wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

Wir können nur jedem abraten dieses Hotel zu buchen. Es war wirklich durchweg eine Katastrophe. -es sind drei Hotelkomplexe. Man kann an der Buchung nicht erkennen wo man untergebracht ist. -viel zu wenig Parkplätze verfügbar -Anreise mit Auto führt zu Verkehrschaos vor dem Hotel -Checkin hat ewig gedauert -haben ein belegtes Zimmer bekommen -Ausstattung und Stil sind uralt und nicht gemütlich -dreckig -Wellnessbereich hat den Namen nicht verdient. Alles alt und viel zu klein für die vielen Hotelgäste -Personal nicht gesprächsbereit für Kompromisse Es war furchtbar.

Das Spa Resort Sanssouci verfügt nur über wenige Parkplätze. WENN alle Parkplätze bereits belegt sind, versuchen wir, Ihnen andere und nächstgelegene Parkplätze zu empfehlen! No parking available / had to park in the watery grass !!! => charged extra 10€ anyway Personnel not talking any English word and quite unfriendly Room outdated, noisy (we could ear the neighbors shower under normal operation => wasn’t a noisy neighbor at all) Swimming pool closed for children’s after 19:00 and communication was really rough => we could only stay 30min in water and our 7yo daughter which experienced discrimination feeling for the first time Kettle available without any instant coffee / tea or other creamer… Swimming pool opening at 10:00 on Sunday’s => checkout before 11:00 => incapacity to return before leaving this overpriced hotel You can check my other reviews over the last 10years off regular use of hotel.com to judge by yourselves if trustworthy or not…
