My sister and I traveled to Joberg to visit a friend who had stayed here on a visit and has since moved to this lovely location of the world. The security at this property is top notch. Every vehicle entering the gate is scanned and intent is verified. The reception at our arrival was so genuinely warm and professional. Busisiwe and Foreman made us feel welcome and special. Our room was especially clean and spacious. Paying the small fee for breakfast was a win! It was not your continental breakfast but more like a Michelin restaurant with an extensive menu ehich was a plus. Fresh squeezed mango juice and made to order omelets were a delight. My sister and I developed a scratchy throat during our stay and Ronnie suggested we try the 'Cashew Brew'. This was a blend of fresh lemons, ginger, honey and garlic. It was magic in a cup...we immediately felt the benefits! Lastly, we booked massages at the Sanctuary Spa. The essential oil massage from Sooda and Martha was seriously the best we ever had. It was so magnificent that we surprised Zanta by booking another just two days later! The Catalyst is definitely THE place to stay if you are visiting Joberg and we will definitely make a return visit!

The property is clean and nice. The only glitch was that receptionist would prioritize other guests over us even though we were standing at the front of the queue. This was at check in so did not leave a good impression of the reception desk. Otherwise all good :)

The hotel was well located, staff are quite friendly, the breakfast was monotonous especially since we were there for 9 nights. The hotel needs to work on maintenance of the furniture and beddings. They were worn out with tears. The carpet needs proper cleaning too. It had lots of stains

neat clean supper was delicious breakfast was an absolute disaster and disappointment Considering the huge muslim community, not a huge spread of options for us We ordered eggs and waited 45 minutes When asking the manager,he mentioned the staff went to the toilet and forgot VERY unprofessional VERY delayed VERY disappointing I am a travel manager and sell properties daily to my clients Because of the breakfast, i will not recommend this hotel unfortunately Breakfast is a huge deal and this was an utter disappointment

In regard to the breakfast, we do have an a 'la carte menu with various options suitable for Muslim guests. We will train the waiters better on how to recommend more options.You are indeed justified in your disappointment as there is absolutely no excuse for an egg order taking more than 15 minutes and in your case 45 minutes. We profusely apologize for the inconvenience and for the lack of care from the staff member who was serving you, as their disappearance was unacceptable.Yes indeed breakfast is big deal as that is the start to the day.
