Atholl house is a lovely B&B in Dunvegan Scotland. It's located in a wonderful area for exploring Skye. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good and they can make a take away breakfast if you are on an early start. The lounge was lovely to sit in at the end of the day and enjoy a beverage before dinner, which was quite tasty. The room wasn't huge but it was clean and well provisioned. We like the eco friendly policies of Atholl House. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were not to our particular liking, just a bit off. Overall we would definitely stay here again if we were in this area.

Excellent; would stay again
Great food and service. The concierge was so helpful and welcoming; all staff were wonderful. The room was big and spacious, with a hot shower. Thank you!

Atholl House is a lovely inn, our favourite stay of a three week trip to Scotland. We were warmly welcomed by our hosts for our four night stay. Our room was very comfortable and we so appreciated the welcoming lounge where we had a drink at the end of busy days exploring the glorious Isle of Skye. The on-site restaurant offered self-serve breakfasts (included) with very nice locally sourced options, and great dinners as well. It truly felt like a home away from home. We highly recommend Atholl House and hope to return one day.

Ideal base for isle of skye
Wonderful small hotel which is very clean and nicely appointed. Really makes one feel at home, including the lounge area and fire place. Hotel personnel were wonderful and service was excellent, including restaurant.

The hotel was safe, warm, cozy. I particularly liked the breakfast. Our room was very small, even by Scotland standards. It was not a happy moment to check prices after we had checked in to find a HUGE reduction in the nightly rate. But we did have a good stay there.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and our continental breakfast buffet. Just for clarification and reassurance, there was definitely no change in price between you booking and your stay. You were in one of our double rooms, which are cosy rooms with a standard British double bed. For anyone wanting a little more space they may want to consider our kingsize or superking rooms. Room sizes are shown on the booking information. It means a huge amount to us that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for staying at Atholl House.

My husband and I loved our time at Atholl House and are already planning a return visit. The house itself has been renovated and decorated beautifully and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful each morning and we booked a table one night for dinner which was also delicious. Jennie and the rest of the staff were so kind and accommodating and we loved spending evenings with a drink in the lounge. We loved the Dunvegan area and being able to walk down to Blas Cafe, The Old School restaurant, and other local spots.

Felt like being at home with friends. Exceptionally friendly staff, rooms felt more like cozy bedrooms you'd have in your house rather than a hotel room. Food was delicious, the whole building is super cute. Very obvious how much work was put in during the 2021 remodel to make it feel like somewhere you could stay forever. If I go back to Skye (which I hope I do!) I will absolutely stay here again.

When we took over the hotel in 2021 we wanted it to be so that people feel totally at home and able to relax - so it means the world to us that this is what you experienced. I am so glad you also loved our continental breakfast and homecooked dinners.

The double room with king size bed was spotless, bamboo mattress was very comfortable A good easy to use shower, only fault was no extras ie shower cap, shampoo, conditioner, tissues, these are basic in most hotels I would also have like more shelf space in the bathroom The staff were all fantastic, very friendly and helpful Breakfast was continental which suited me, plenty of choice but no cooked breakfast available Evening meal was basic and edible We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel

We do not provide small bottles of shampoo etc as a conscious environmental choice but do provide quality locally produced hand soap and hair and body wash that we refill - I am sorry these were not what you wanted and we will take on board your comments on this.

This place was our favorite on the trip! It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the food and hospitality were awesome! Jennie and Smith were outstanding. This place is a must book for anyone visiting there. I cannot say enough great things about this place.

Perfect balance of Hotel Service and personal B&B
Fabulous place to stay, a perfect balance between a hotel (big enough and high level of service) and B&B (very personal service, close attention to detail). Loved our stay. Food was excellent - well presented, tasty and not overstuffed with extras (e.g. chips). Breakfast is continental (suited us!) but great variety, well presented and tasty. Room was extremely comfortable and location is perfect.

Great place to stay when visiting Skye
I could not have better things to say about our stay at Atholl House! It was a wonderful stay with a very warm and welcoming staff! Rooms were spacious, and incredibly large bathrooms which isn’t always expected in Europe! We did not have dinner on site, but were very accommodating with breakfast and offer to-go options which is extremely helpful if you have any early mornings planned. Overall, a pleasant stay and will look to stay here on any future trips to Isle of Skye!

Good enough for solo traveler
Hotel and rooms are small, but for solo traveler big enough. Breakfast is quite simple, continental type. Choice in the restaurant for dinner was disapointed to me. Staff was very friendly. I was just so unlucky, that I had the room just opposite of the toalet and beside the door. It was extremely noisy.

Thank you for your review. I am so sad that you did not give us this feedback while you were here - in response to this feedback we have adjusted the door closer for the fire door in the corridor next to your room so that it now closes more quietly. We are also aware of the issue of the room in question being near the toilet and you may have noticed some discreet minor renovation work happening nearer reception - this is to install a new toilet for public use that will be in use within the next couple of weeks and away from all rooms. As an old building many of the rooms are not huge but we are delighted that the single room that you had in fact is large enough to have a double bed unlike many single rooms available in Scotland. Our bistro style dining room does offer simple and modest home cooked food as described on our website - we are so sorry this was not to your taste. Thank you so much for staying with us and if you do return to Skye we do hope you will decide to stay with us again and experience our alterations.

A , 5 stars. This place was immaculate, very friendly hosts. We stayed in Room 1. Very comfy bed, large bathroom ensuite. Very quiet.Free parking. Lovely dinner we had there. Delicious. Nice breakfast in the morning. Would recommend highly.

Tolles kleines Hotel. Absolut empfehlenswert
Wunderschönes kleines Hotel mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Der Empfang ist sehr persönlich und angenehm. Man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Die Zimmer sind sauber und hübsch eingerichtet. Auch der Aufenthaltsraum mit Kamin lädt zum verweilen ein. Das Abendessen (am besten vorher reservieren, da nur 5 Tische) ist sehr lecker, sowie das umfangreiche Frühstück das ausschließlich mit lokalen Zutaten zubereitet ist. Dunvegan ist sehr klein, hat aber eine Tankstelle und einen kleinen Tante Emma Laden. Das Schloss liegt unweit entfernt.

Very nice hotel with a great location
Very cosy stay at this hotel. Friendly and very helpful staff. Good breakfast and good dinners. Comfortable beds, good shower. Nice soap and shampoo. Although it’s by the road it was silent during the night. The homepage says that hopefully you would feel like home. Sadly we were told that we were not allowed having our own candy with us as we played cards in the lounge in the evening. It’s an cosy, laid back lounge and that actually took some of the “home feeling” away. Also they had put up an extra dinner on our bill when we checked out. This they sorted out when we got back to Sweden. All in all, a very nice place to stay at!

Best B&B on Isle of Skye ?
VERY good B&B hotel. Much more service than expected from a "hotel" in this category. Impressing breakfast. Big room (4). Cosy inside and outside. Small town, big enough for 3-4 restaurants, - but if you do not need a big steak, - stick to the evening meny at this breakfast hotel:).

Bel posto, tanti angoli relax
Bella casa, molto ben arredata con tanti angoli relax. Staff gentile e disponibile, colazione e cena buone, tutto molto pulito. Camera ampia e confortevole, con tutto il necessario, compreso l'asciugacapelli! L'ultimo giorno abbiamo dovuto partire prestissimo, ma al mattino ci han fatto trovare nel salone, tutto quello che avevamo richiesto per la colazione 'take-away'. Molto soddisfatti, e buona posizione per visitare l'isola.
