First and foremost I want to talk about the staff of this hotel… they are super friendly, professional and sincere. This also includes the bar upstairs… great barman and waiters in the evening. Hotel it self is located in a central area with easy walking access to restaurants coffee sightseeing and hiking. Place is super clean, and the rooms are interesting but it’s in a historic building so you have to take it for what it is. I would recommend booking a place with balcony for some outdoor space. However, again I want to underline the cleanliness

This is a lovely hotel in the middle of the old town area. The room was large and nicely refurbished, and there is a nice bar in the reception area. There was a bit of yelling outside throughout the night but you expect that staying in a busy area. I have removed a star because there was no one available when we checked out. When we went to reception at 10am there were only bar staff around, who said they could not process our checkout. We were told someone would come soon, however half an hour later there was still no one around. By this point there were 4 other groups also waiting. We ended up just leaving our room key behind as we would have missed our flight if we stayed any longer. I can only assume the only reception staff member called in sick, as 10am would be the peak time for people checking out.

Nice property. Weird that the glass shower is in the bedroom. Only issue with VIP; they had a room to uograde to and didn’t want to do it. The second I said we are VIP after confirming there was a room available, she got manager who says she didn’t have anything. Also, they can choose apparently not to give you the VIP 18 euros per day and instead give you a substandard small plate of fruit and 4 chocolates. Would have preferred to put this towards the 25 euro breakfast.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry that your stay with us didn't meet your expectations. Since you have already booked the highest room category an upgrade would have only been possible to be done to a suite, which was not mandatory also with VIP access. The 17 Euros per stay, not per day, were given in form of fresh fruit, fine pralines, softdrinks as well as a welcome drink upon your arrival. This even excels the 17 Euros. Kind regards,Linda

We spent a very pleasant couple of days at this property and the welcoming glass of wine was well received. The facilities were good and the only thing that stopped 5* across the board was the fact that the plug in the washbasin would not close (could have been something I missed) and there was no information on how to adjust the climate controls. This did not however affect our very pleasant stay. We look forward to another opportunity during an Xmas market period

Exceeded our already high expectations
We were very pleasantly surprised. We expected it to be good based on the reviews but it exceeded expectations. The location in the old town was perfect, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was amazing. Our biggest mistake was not including breakfast in the booking - it's defintely worth it

What a lovely hotel! The entrance of this hote is very unassuming but once inside its amazing! The rooms are well thought out, detailed, decorated with a taste that exudes calmness. The breakfast was amazing with so many choices, the dining room very comfortable and decorated in the same tasteful style. We had a lovely lady by the name of Viviana look after us. She was just so wonderful, helpful and kind. She had time for us, nothing was a problem. Viviana is a real Diamond! We also had the opportunity of meeting the owner of the hotel. She was a lovely person. After meeting her you understand why the hotel is what it it is, that its staff are all super helpful and everything runs like clockwork. Everything comes from the top. In my opinion this is THE hotel to stay in Innsbruck if you value the "personal touch" like we do. Highly recommended and we will be back again, for sure!!😀

Excellent Stay in the Heart of Innsbruck
We loved this hotel as it was in the heart of the old city. Everything was immaculate, and our attic room was SO cozy. We loved it. We were only there for one night, but it was very comfortable. The washroom was spotless. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Nice room poor value
A lovely room in an excellent location. For the cost of the room I was disappointed in the air conditioning which was totally ineffective on a 35 deg day and the night. Shower and vanity was in the room which was odd as well. Fancy appointments don’t really make up for no sleep when it was so hot. Considering it was the most expensive hotel with the worst air con and smallest room and no breakfast (25 euro each) I think there would be better value rooms.

thank you for your rating. Yes, it is true that you could not lower the room temperature below 21 degrees. In terms of sustainability, our air conditioning system was set in such a way that in the warmer months of the year, the temperature can be further reduced by opening the windows (shock ventilation) and not through the energy-intensive air conditioning system.In everything we do, we strive for sustainability and consideration for global warming, and so this measure seems justified and justifiable to us, because in the warmer months of the year the temperature in Innsbruck at night is always far below the value you mentioned. It was the same during your stay.With the request for your understanding for this basic attitude, we remain with best regards

I would never recommend staying at this hotel. Firstly, it is a royal pain to have to park remotely in a garage with no elevator. While the hotel has a very good location once you are there, there are so many other more convenient options. The room was unlike any other hotel I’ve stayed in with the bathroom including the shower right within the bedroom. When you came out of the shower, there was zero privacy. Same with the sink, right there in the bedroom. The breakfast was quite good and service was good but the final nail was the parking arrangement. When I checked out, I was billed for 2 night’s parking (30 Eu) but trying to use two parking vouchers from the hotel that would have, I assume, eliminated the parking charges at garage checkout didn’t work the way we were instructed by Jakob. He made a big deal about the order of the voucher entries but after first inserting the parking ticket, I could no longer insert the vouchers. So I had to pay 38Eu on top of the 30Eu I was billed by the hotel. When I informed them of this snafu, they just brushed me off indicating “it always works “ and I should have found some garage staffer to clear it up. There was no garage staffer to be found. So, small room with the bathroom right in the bedroom plus the hassle of parking remotely say Stay Away.

Thank you for your review. We appreciate constructive criticism so we can improve. The location of the hotel in a pedestrian only area is already mentioned in the name of our hotel. Directly after your booking you recieved a message with all the information regarding parking. This included the note that there is no elevator at the garage. However there were also plenty of garges with an elevator noted as well. We are aware that the modern open-space concept is not for everyone. We do have rooms with compeltely closed bathrooms as well. This is also shown on all pictures of the rooms that there is an open space bathroom. We are sorry that the parking voucher didn't work for you. Still as you already cited this was the first time in 2 whole years this service did not work. We had a wonderful time at the Altstadthotel Weisses Kreuz. It is smack in the middle of the largely pedestrian-accessed old town with wonderful restaurants, cafe and historic building all around. The room had been tastefully renovated and made smart use of space. Breakfast was an option that we highly recommend - with an array of fascinating local products to select from, as well as your typical breakfast fare (although why would you select the latter, given all that was on offer). The staff were superb, volunteering suggestions for sightseeing and restaurants which we very much enjoyed. We'll definitely be back.

We really liked this property and would stay again. The only downside is that the shower and sink are in the bedroom. No privacy. There is also no parking. But the place was really nice. Nice bar and breakfast, staff is super nice and helpful!

Was a unique and spacious room for our visit! Right in Old Town which is super great for restaurants, but did mean it was a bit noisy at night. Overall, loved the experience.

Innsbruck Altstadt
A lovely room, well located for seeing the old town, restaurants and cafés and the beautiful surrounding countryside. The room was beautifully cleaned each day. Although there was much noise in the area the room was very quiet and peaceful. Beds were very comfortable.

I stay in 15-20 hotels per year. I never have time to complete a survey, however, I haven't been so happy staying in a hotel as I was at Altstadhotel Weisses Kreuz. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the rooms were beautiful - perfectly decorated. Everything was tastefully done.

Wonderful old city hotel near everything!
What a welcome surprise this little hotel turned out to be. Super friendly reception and staff were amazing. The room was small and well appointed and modern. I was lucky enough to have a room just above the walking street with the bump out alcove. Wow. What a view and sense of relaxation. Bar gets busy around 8 but I found a spot and enjoyed a few bourbons. Can’t say enough good stuff about this one!
