I’ve really enjoyed my stop overs at the two Mercure Hotels on this French Road Trip - consistently impressive in all areas and the staff are so welcoming and kind. In future ‘Mercure’ will always be my first choice when travelling in France. Merci.

Disappointing for a family stay
The reception staff were lovely, and the service was great over all however we booked a family room and the room wasn’t made up on arrival. When we pulled the sofa bed out you could literally feel the springs on touch. When the kids split on it, they had to shift across the bed to avoid the springs. We stayed regardless and all went well until we had a shower and the shower fell off the wall. Very disappointing considering the Stella reviews.

Use this hotel as another pit-stop on our trip back to the UK. Right next door to the IBIS, but thought we would stay here instead on our last night in France. Excellent value for money and very good restaurant, which we have used a number of times on other trips – but why have they changed the beer from 1664 to Heineken? Great location, excellent breakfast, excellent staff, what more could you want?

Full Marks! Never disappoints.
Third time staying here as overnight stop driving to or from Spain. Hotel is conveniently located for the Motorway, and is easy to find. This hotel never disappoints! Hotel is spacious, bedroom and bathroom both spacious & spotless, staff friendly, and restaurant really very good. Full Marks!

Fine if you like the smell of cigarette
The reception at the hotel was great. We were given a room that had a strong smell cigarette. We complained and got another room that was equally as bad. There were cigarette holes in the carpet!! The stairwell was full of laundry trolleys and other maintenance items. The hotel is in serious need of refurbishment. The staff was great and restaurant food excellent.

I have stayed in a fair few hotels in my time but this has to be the worst experience of them all. I have never met a ruder/useless set of staff. Firstly there was an issue with our booking, they were unable to find both our rooms. We booked a taxi for our friend's wedding the next day and on the day of the wedding, they told us the taxi is not coming. This was told to us when the taxi was already 15mins late! The hotel staff also pushed the taxi card into our hands and said there was nothing they can do to help...not impressed. There are also flies and bees around the whole hotel.

Fantastic hotel, spotlessly clean, spacious rooms. Lovely staff and delicious breakfast…perfect for a stopover on the way to/from the Dordogne!

We liked this property, we only stayed one night. It was very clean, staff was nice and did their job. Hand sanitizer was available everywhere. Parking in front of the hotel for free. The shower was spacious and clean. Cosy bedroom. Things that were not great: - French toilet, you cannot wash your hands if the shower room is used by someone else. - breakfast service to bedroom: arrived on time. Limited amount of fruit, cold croissant and watery coffee. Overall good for a short and a longer stay, but I I wouldn't order breakfast

Good hotel with good location, if you drive. Quiet and easily accessible from the main highways. A few restaurants around and a massive Auchan very close which is very handy. They have a good observation of the new social distancing rules and we felt safe all the time. Don't go for the swimming pool.

Great overnight stay. Easy to find and free secure parking. Good size room. Good wifi. Very comfortable bed. Restaurant and bars closed due to coronavirus but room service for breakfast at no extra cost. Great value for money. Friendly receptionists and gpood communications.

Great hotel. Highly recommend.
Hotel staff are great. They speak English well and are very welcoming. The hotel itself is clean and well presented. This is our 3rd stay here so would highly recommend. Close access to the motorway also which is handy.

Good hotel let down by poor breakfast
Good except breakfast which was a bit shambolic. Staff failed to refill empty croissant basket for 20 or more mins despite queue of people. Similar for bacon & some other items. Orange juice warm.

The food was very good. breakfast expensive but fresh variety service very good. Pool shallow end is too deep for most people. I shall NOT stay in Mercure Nord for one reason. There were so many dogs around. It looked like a dog park. Do the dogs sleep on the bed with their owners? Do I, the next hotel guest have to sleep in a bed that a dog had previously used? I do not like to share beds with other people's dogs. In addition dogs were in the dining room. This is generally considered an unhygienic practice. Pet friendly hotels should house dogs and other animals in a separate area. Besides what is considered a "pet" maybe a dangerous species .by Please review your "pets allowed policy"
