“Tremendous Locationand Great Hotel-just a minor 'waiter problem'”

This is the only hotel in the Iguazu National Park, a short walking distance from the falls and our room was one of many with Fall Views. When the Park closes to visitors , hotel guests have the location to themselves and can watch the sun set over rainforest and falls. Quite magical!. Reception staff were very helpful , particularly in arranging for us to leave by road , over to the Brazilian side of the river. Our only negative was the service in the well-appointed restaurant that, incidentally , has beautiful harp music to accompany the dining. Here a far too attentive waiter went blatantly beyond the usual norms. The wine-list, advertised Merlot by the glass, so I requested two glasses. He opened a bottle and poured some into one of two huge glasses. I did not demur for after all, this was a very special evening so I wanted to avoid any unpleasantness So it was that two glasses equated to one bottle. Never mind. Worse was to come! This waiter spent most of the next hour looking straight into my face while I ignored him and tried to act normally towards my wife. When he brought the bill, he said to me ;”service is not included”. Apart from this minor impertinence , everything else was superb. We swam in the hotel’s pool in the evening . We were given our own key to access the roof and all the little extras such as computer access and taxis available within five minutes made our stay truly memorable. Of course it is expensive but well worth it. Highly recommended!
