We travel often for hockey so we see lots of 'affordable' hotels. - this hotel was disappointing. Badly in need of an update - our room had no blow dryer and the front desk had none to loan out. The worst element was the breakfast. Cold, powdered eggs and undercooked sausages. Coffee was like brown water and the pots were always empty. Guests had to repeatedly ask for fresh pots to be made. Definitely not worth $150/night (room taxes). There are not many options in River Falls but next time we're here we'll consider the others, or find a better one a bit further away.

The only thing good I can say about this place is that the staff was very helpful when we needed anything. (They at first put us in the wrong room and were very good about getting us switched to the correct room, but Then the pull out bed had fresh blood stains on it, the pool was absolutely disgusting and filthy. It had the under water light hanging in the water with the cords hanging out. The ladder to get out of the pool was broke. The floors in the pool area were disgusting. There was spiders crawling on the handicap seat to get in the pool. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. We were supposed to stay 2 nights and left the next day.

Easy to find Front desk was deserted. Had to ring a bell for service. Not reliably responded to No response twice, so we called from our room The fire alarm was missing. Wires were dangling from the ceiling Bulbs out in the bathroom TV was not easy to use. We were not the only room that needed help to turn their TV on Breakfast items that needed to be warm (eggs and sausage) were cold Nice selection of breakfast items Bed and pillows very comfortable

The check in experience was the end of the positive part of this hotel experience. The pool was a bit grubby & dated. You could see chemical layer on top of pool and hot tub. Temp was good I requested the 2nd floor, was not granted upon check in told they had a large group request the whole top floor. WTH There were kids running around the hallway & jumping off beds all night. Finally called front desk at 11:45pm, desk attendant said she could do anything about what people do in their own rooms even though quiet hours start at 10pm. Needless to say we did not sleep at all until 1am, just to get up at 6am. Worst Stay Ever

Always getting better and better
The last few times I have stayed at my local country inn and Suites, somehow I always end up in the same room. From the first time to the last time I have seen a huge difference. The air unit was upgraded, more user and eco friendly and hotel staff always have great service. I would however like to see the jetted tubs upgraded in the future some time because it’s definitely the highlight of my stay!

Check in a disaster. Finally staff called offsite manager and fixed problems. Very slow tub drain. Standing in couple inches of water at end of shower. Shower head awful. Heating unit noise when it turned on, woke up every time. Breakfast selection ok. Quiet.

When I travel it is often with my young daughter which requires a lot of luggage/stuff to entertain her Pros: I needed to stay in River Falls and this location was convenient I liked that there was a pool and hot tub Quiet on Friday night Room was spacious Always like a refrigerator and table when we stay, glad these were available Staff were pleasant Cons: Lack of elevator!! I cant express this annoyance enough for having to make three trips up and down steps with some heavy stuff at checkin and checkout. I had a suitcase that was filled with stuff, a swim bag and a "car"/toy bag filled with activities Beds were not very comfortable, some pillows were lumpy Friday night had a strong smell of skunky weed which I assume was coming from outside (hard for hotels to control this but unpleasant) Saturday night had a wedding party staying there, they got back around midnight and were literally howling in the hallways. I was awake for maybe 30 or so minutes before that started to quiet down, luckily my daughter did not wake up Shower curtain had what looked like moldy spots on the inside Lack of a water dispenser/water fill-up area. There was a vending machine to buy water but no pitcher of water in the lobby or dining area

Worth the stay
Beds and pillows could have been better but overall quiet & clean. ac/heater worked well and quiet, no rattles. Breakfast was pretty basic but ok. Brought our little dog for his 1st hotel visit & they were great about it for a small fee so that was nice.

This property has went down since staying here in the past. The room was fine, but somewhat outdated. The TV does not have connections to things like Netflix. The breakfast was not great. Found moldy bread, outdated items, and no bowls for the cereal or oatmeal with an already limited amount of options. This made us eat out our second morning. Overall safe and decent but definitely could be better.

Hotel from HELL
This hotel does not provide any value for the price. The floors were dirty throughout the lobby, hallways, hotel room and bath. The shower curtain was nasty. Lamps were missing lightbulbs. The pool had not been cleaned all summer - the water was green and there was fuzzy growth at the bottom. The hotel staff was notified about the filth in the pool and the response was "We will check it out." They never did. Nothing was done during our stay. The morning breakfast was horrible - plan to eat somewhere else as there are several good restaurants in the area. The furniture in the hotel room was cheap, outdoor furniture. Absolutely a HORRIBLE stay and never, ever again at this hotel or any in this hotel chain. Furious with the cleanliness, accomodations, pool and breakfast. College students run the hotel at night and are more interested in their cell phones. The daytime front desk has no clue about their job and do not appear to care other than the mandatory pleasantries without any intention to correct obvious problems with the facility.
