“Location is the best feature”

The location is what makes the St Andrews Motor Inn. Every room has a balcony/patio that overlooks the harbour, with view of the boating action and a sunset, if you're lucky. It is right on the edge of the downtown area, so you can walk to most of the attractions and restaurants. It is also in the historical residential area, which makes for a pleasant walk. The hotel itself isn't anything special, although clean and comfortable enough. The bathroom had recently been redone, but the drying light didn't work, and there was no hairdryer. We had a housekeeping suite, with a full kitchenette that we didn't use, but could be a nice feature if you're looking to do your own cooking.

“Old but conveniently located”

This hotel is right on the Main Street in St. Andrews which is why we chose to stay here. It is quite old with indoor/outdoor carpet and old bedspreads, etc. They had plumbing problems in the hotel so we had to be careful flushing to be sure the toilet didn't overflow, apparently people had been moved from our room the night before because of toilet back-up....needless to say I kept my shoes on at all times!!! Our room was on the first floor with a walkout to the backyard which was a grassed in area looking over the water. We spent the evening relaxing on the lawn chairs provided.
