We had booked this hotel for one night after the Portsmouth ferry crossing which arrived at 9.30pm. It was not too far to drive and reception was open when we arrived...always a bonus I feel. I had read other reviews and the main concern was finding the hotel; definitely agree with that! You would be hard pushed to access it, certainly in the dark, without a satnav!!! Parking was secure although when we arrived it didn't look like it....had to ask how to get into the car park. However, all was well! The welcome was really great and they had provided a room on the ground floor as I requested [husband on crutches due to recent knee replacement]. The bar and restaurant looked busy and welcoming but we were tired and so went straight to our room. This was fine, if a little 'compact', but bed was comfy. Disappointing that there were no tea/coffee making facilities but there was access to same in the restaurant. Everything was acceptable for an overnight stay, but I felt value for money was left wanting, for a similar price we stayed in Ouistreham on our return in a more upmarket hotel.
