We very much enjoyed our 1 night stay here. Room and bathroom were very clean and huge!! Great shower and lovely views. Fiona and James are excellent hosts and we loved how welcomed they made us feel. There breakfast was incredible. We wouldnt hesitate to stay here again.

Loved our stay. Fiona and James were so kind and engaging. Our room was spectacular- large and luxurious with spectacular views of the countryside. Loved the cows that arrived that evening to wish us well. Breakfast was so delicious. Highly recommend thiis B&B - hope to come back!

Well worth a visit!
We just spent 2 nights in this beautiful, atmospheric accommodation, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The owners are lovely, so friendly and extremely helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Additionally the breakfasts were delicious with plenty of variety, something for everyone. In sum, the whole experience was superb.

Wonderful experience
Our stay at the Agent's House was one of the highlights of our trip. Our room was lovely, spacious and clean. But what really set the stay apart were the hosts, Fiona and James. They were warm and friendly, and the perfect balance of not being intrusive, yet available for anything we might need. For example, we were lucky with beautiful weather and they offered us a drink on the balcony upstairs. I commented on how bright it was and a minute later, James appeared with a wide-brimmed hat for me to shield my eyes. The breakfast was wonderful and prepared to order for us. We truly felt pampered.

We had a lovely one night stay at The Agents House, in a quiet, comfy large room that overlooks fields and the river. Our hosts couldn’t have been more attentive without being overbearing. We sat on the balcony watching the local wildlife and listening to the birds before taking lovely hot showers and getting into a comfy warm bed. The room and facilities were all top notch with tea and coffee in the room along with a Smart TV. We were treated to cameos from Chutney and Pickles the resident cats, and the home brew was a hit with my husband. Breakfast was tasty with lots of options, with quality items that were locally sourced. We would absolutely recommend a stay here if you’re in the area, and we wouldn’t hesitate to re book here if we find ourselves in the area again.

It was perfect for us, good way of providing B & B, as we were starting out early to visit the Royal Welsh Show on two of the days, Hosts were very welcoming and we were well catered for. Really enjoyed our stay.

Comfortable clean room. Very comfortable bed. Good location. Owners on site and very welcoming. Breakfast is included- but it is prepared by the guests themselves. There was not an option to opt out of this apart from declining the food- so was part of the price. No outside seating area, but the advertisement for the property indicates there is, which was a disappointment as we fortunately had lovely weather. A good location and beautiful room.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was very comfortable with great facilities inside the kitchen cupboard. The food was very good quality. On arrival we had an excellent introduction by Steve who told us about the history of the buildings and it was nice to see that much of the history has been retained. Nothing was too much trouble for Alison and Steve and they came in every day to spruce the room up as well. Although it’s in a very quiet location, it’s only a 100yards away from the local pub, which was great and had nice food. It’s located close to Brecon and the Black mountains for some excellent walks, with easy access to Hay on wire. It’s only a twenty minute drive to Hereford as well. We would definitely stay again. We had a fantastic time. Thank you Alison and Steve.

Alison and Steven were great hosts. The spacious accommodation was fitted out to a fabulous standard, with all requirements well catered for and with many interesting and useful touches. The bed was large and very comfortable. The locally sourced items provided for breakfast were top quality and very tasty. Altogether we had a great relaxing stay.

Lovely 3 night stay
We enjoyed a three night stay at The Agents House and loved every minute. Great location, the accommodation was spacious, clean and full of character and the hosts are lovely and helpful too. Recommend kayaking from Hay on Wye and The Blue Boar in Hay for dinner. Highly recommend this B&B it was just perfect!

We had a lovely three night stay in The Agent's Office in mid-January, and were lucky enough to have sun. The room is spacious, and during the day the sun shone through the window making the whole place bright and cheerful. The bed was very comfortable, and there are nice arm chairs and a small breakfast table (watch your knees) and chairs as well. I'm old enough to remember when showers in the UK could be a little anemic; not so with this one. The owners have done the place up really nicely with modern conveniences like a shaver outlet that accepts both US and European plugs. We didn't get to meet Alison, but Steve made sure all our needs were met, and I appreciated that he was willing to let us put a large volume of waste paperwork in the recycling bin. We were provided with prodigious amounts of breakfast food, enough to make a light lunch on one of the days as well. The cooker worked really well, and it was convenient to be able to prepare breakfast on our own schedule. I like that Steve and Alison source their breakfast selections locally. We unfortunately were traveling largely on business this trip and didn't get to do any local walks, but there look to be a number or nearby paths. There are maps and an array of leaflets provided. There's not much in Whitney on Wye, but Hay on Wye is very close and has some very nice places to eat. I had perhaps the best lamb I've ever eaten at the Old Black Lion in Hay. Highly recommend a stay at The Agent's House!!

Really enjoyable stay in the Agent’s office
Really enjoyable stay at the Agent’s house in the Agent’s office. Superb large room full of history and our very friendly hosts Alison and Steve were more than happy to advise us about the locality and the history of the Agent’s house and the office on our arrival and departure. The concept of having quality provisions provided (pre-order your choice) and being able to cook them yourself in a kitchen in a cupboard when you wished worked very well for us. The Agent’s house is close to the toll bridge across the Wye which is worth going over to get to Hay-on-Wye, if only for the experience. We will be sure to stay again at the Agent’s house when in that area.

This is a small niche b/b hotel. Everything about it is excellent, the difference is the breakfast which is provided in your room via a small but fully functional kitchenette. This hotel was a lovely surprise, highly recommended.

An ideal base to explore Hereford and surrounding area as Powys is not too far away. The B &B itself provided superb food, a large choice and the flexibility to cook it yourself so you could get away early if required, or have a lie in if you wanted a really relaxing break. A very good pub is close by with a good menu. We throroughly our stay.

The most loveliest b&b we have ever stayed in
The agents house is a lovely old house in Whitney on wye. We were over the moon with our room, "the agents room", everything was perfect. The kitchenette was stocked with our breakfast and there was a variety of teas and coffees and everything else you would need. The room was beautifully decorated, the bed really soft and comfortable and the most thickest and softest towels you could wish for! We definitely recommend "the agents house", and will be visiting again if we are up in that beautiful area again. We were made so welcome.

A five star experience.
Our room was a lovely self-catering cook your own breakfast (with supplies you request the night before) with a koi pond in the garden area, and table & chairs so we could breakfast out on the decking. It was beautiful weather so we didn't need to avail ourselves of the remote control electric heater, but we did enjoy the remote control shutters which we could open and close from our bed! And we never expected such a good selection of DVDs to watch on the DVD player...we had a hard time picking just one! Everything we could possibly need was there...coffee, decaf, tea, sugar, honey, jams, cereals, along with the breakfast fixings. The refrigerator wasn't large but big enough for us to keep a few lunch supplies in and keep our bottles of water cold. The shower was powerful, lush Egyptian cotton towels, and shampoo on the wall in the shower. Make sure you run your hand along the edge of the bathroom mirror to turn it on! Our hosts were lovely, giving us information about a walk in the area and the pub across the road where we could eat and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Despite being a campground and pub at the end of the road, this placewas quiet and peaceful. Although I don't usually stay in the same place twice, we are looking forward to our next stay here. The location is close to Hay-n-Wye and Brecon Beacons which is good for exploring during your stay. And lots and lots of pamphlets in the drawer so no shortage of ideas on what to do/where to go!
