Very nice but….
Excellent staff - but we were housed in the old area of the resort and the rooms are tired, however the beds were very comfy. Breakfast, the coffee places were all very very good. Pool area is excellent. The beach area needs some serious maintenance and trash collection. Seems like a lot of inconsistencies between the various areas of the resort. Also the registration gave one information but later the breakfast restaurant wouldn’t honor the coupons given by registration. For the grounds in front of the resort there is a lot of plastic waste.

Nothing wrong with this place. It was in a lovely location within walking distance to night market. You need to drive to enter the National Park, unless you are up for a ten km walk. I gave it four stars because it is showing it's age a bit. But it was clean and I would stay there again.

The hotel is a bit dated, but it’s still a nice property with friendly and helpful staff. Just minutes from downtown by foot. The rooms have unbelievable ocean view

We stayed here 10 years ago and were already disappointed by the room's hygiene. Surprisingly, Chateau Beach Resort didn't disappoint me. The room has a heavy dust layer stuck at the AC ventilation, and I even see mold on the ceiling. The location is superb but they really need careful renovation.

Over priced
Very over priced. The second floor rooms are small and cramped and very expensive. Stay elsewhere if you are choosing those rooms. The ground floor room with beach access is better.

Excellent beach, ok rooms.
Hotel with a great view, nice beach, good service, but so so rooms. Views were amazing and has nice pool and lots of toys and beach chairs. Can relax. But when come to the room, they are ok, but nothing compared to a normal Hilton. Overall good stay. The breakfast was decent also. A bit pricey.

This property has great ocean views and a wonderful private beach and pool with an ocean view. During the off season the rates are really affordable and the weather is great.

An amazing find - located right on a beautiful beach, very short distance to the national park with some magic unusual sights. The buffet meals have choices for everyone. Lots of different kinds of swimming pools and spas. Only 2 hours away by bus from the high speed railway station.

Perfect for a solo trip
Awesome beach resort! I stayed here for 5 days on a solo trip and stayed in the lower level, beach view. The room was very clean and comfortable with a good wifi connection and could walk out my back door right to the beach. The staff was very professional and courteous but it will help if you speak some Mandarin/Taiwanese, as not everyone speaks English. I studied for a year before I went and had Google Translator app on my phone which came in handy. The breakfast was my favorite with western staples; eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast and a great fruit and juice selection. The live music at dinner was very entertaining. If you're a westerner, you're going to be one of the few so other guests will stare at you, but not in a bad way. Moped rental is a 5 minute walk from the hotel and you can park it right beside the guard gate if you keep it overnight. This side of the island has much less traffic, so riding around was a dream! For $20/day and a few bucks gas I explored the entire south side of the island including Kenting Park and Taiwan's southernmost point. I checked out all the other resorts in the area and you have to cross the street to get to the beach, but at Chateau I could walk out of my room barefoot to the sand, was very glad I chose it over the others. At first, I only had 2 days booked but after the first day, I extended it to 5. It was an amazing vacation and I plan to go back again next year.

Bad Service and bad smelling room!
The serivce was very bad at check in, i was with my family ( my wife and my 2 kids ) , I stopped my car in front of the entrance and ask the staffs there ( they were 5 in total standing there ) if they can help to take my luggages off the car since i need to tale care of my kids... No one help me and i did get off ny luggage myself. The room i booked has cigarettes smoke smell and i did ask to change the room and unable to change the room as they were fully booked.... So bad experience that i will definately not suggest anyone to go to this hotel anymore and if i could , i would request full refund!!!

Great selection of kid-friendly pools. Great team cleaning services. Great lifeguards. Chateau Star Paradise was fun but property can invest more in this facility. Loved the laundry facilities. Could use another restaurant or cafe in the Positano side.

Rude check in counter staff, Refusing to admit having a booking. after 20 minutes of then could finally check in, Room has fire hazard light that can't be turned off - so be prepared for a bright red light glowing from the ceiling all night. Asked for an Ironing board, was presented what i can only assume is a child's toy, 30cm long and 10 cm tall. how are you suppose to use this on a shirt. No room service, no drinks in the room, very limited hotel

A fantastic jewel in Taiwan! I love that this wonderful resort is in such a wonderful place. It stands alone in this lovely location as a stand-out world class resort.

Not a best option for foreigner
They are not kind enough to help foreign people. Of course there was no shuttle bus from the hotel, the only bus stop to take a bus to airport was about 20 minutes away. Nobody show us a right direction, nobody tried to help us. There was no other option, We need to bring our heavy lugguages to the bus station in very hot weather. Was really not a good memory. I think they should help their guests about reaching the transportation, not only the domestics but also the foreigners.

This place is one of several resorts in the Kenting area. Last time I was in Kenting was almost 30 years ago and I stayed at one of the other top resorts nearby before this one existed. It is a very nice hotel, with excellent facilities, very nice rooms and is overstaffed with friendly helpful people. That is all good but it is the location with its own beachfront that makes this place unique and special. Although only a few minutes walk from 7-11 (what isn't in Taiwan?) and Kenting's night life street, Chateau resembles an inclusive resort that feels like a place in Hawaii, Bali or the Philippines. Travelers going to Kenting are often looking for that vibe. If I go back to Kenting, this is the only place I will consider.

The property is at a great location with proximity to everything local. The pool did not have lounge chairs and only the beach area had locations for relaxation. The staff was very accommodating and the breakfast buffet is fantastic with enough flavors and variety for all.

Comfortable hotel with its own stretch of beach and lots of family-oriented facilities such as beach/ water sports options, recreation room, indoor playgrounds and in-house restaurants. 5min walk to the night market. Day tours available for pre-booking at the hotel but note to book by a few days ahead as tours are outsourced. Our older quad room was spacious but could be more brightly lit. Spotted fair bit of mold under the rim of the sink on our last day.

Not quite the luxury stay we’d expected
We stayed for three nights over Christmas (and over 2 bookings). Firstly, the rooms were ok - not as clean as the previous hotel, so was noticeable. The breakfast is ok - not a fabulous selection for non-Taiwan guests, but ok. However, for all meals they charge 10% service - despite the service being slow. In terms of the ‘fun’ activities - we enjoyed the spa and pools but be warned, there can be lots of children so not terribly relaxing (the spa pool was full of kids in floating. Devices screaming with joy). We booked to do the archery - but the equipment is old and the facilitator/tutor is bored with it (you can tell - no enjoyment or anything- it’s like he drew the short straw!). On the last day we were locked out of our room at 11.30 (despite checkout at midday) - so be warned - the keys expire beforehand! Finally - we asked about help to get our luggage to the bus stop to go back to the HSR. The only option was a surly taxi driver who chargered is $150 NTD to take us to a bus stop on the other side of Kenting St - which actually was one stop further than we needed to go! Madness! All in all it was an ok trip - but for the hype and the price I would have expected more.

The best thing about this hotel is the fact that you can just walk out and within a few minutes you're on the beach. Sleeping to the sound of ocean waves is nice too. We did however have issues with an annoying buzz from our rooms air conditioning unit, and the wifi connectivity was not very reliable. The staff should be more responsive to customer issues and concerns- my family and I were interested in extending our stay, but we had some booking issues. In the end, it took too long for the staff to sort out, and we ended up elsewhere for the additional night. This was a disappointing way to end our stay.
